Lewis, the owner, was friendly and polite, and completed the patio in 3 days. He was able to do our work a week earlier than quoted due to a cancelled booking. He also offered us a free upgrade on the day (resin not paving stones) due to the cancelled order.
The low review rating is due to him and his 3 workers being a little slapdash towards the end, as if in a rush to getaway (leaving some waste materials behind and not finishing off an area to our satisfaction).
Lewis also did not provide us with the receipt and invoice despite asking him many times. He asked for 25% of the cost upfront to make the booking; and the rest in two instalments at the start and finish of the works, paid into his wife Zoe's bank account. There is no proof that he did the work so we don't know if the work is under guarantee now.

Booked to come out and see us. Didn't turn up on the Wednesday and, when chased, agreed to come the same time on the next day. Then texted 10 minutes before he was supposed to be here to say: "due to unforeseen circumstances he could no longer attend to quote and we should look elsewhere for a quote"! No explanation. If he is too busy he should just say and not waste peoples' time.

Recently had driveway done and felt compelled to do a review because really happy with the outcome - it’s completely transformed the front of our house.
The work was completed on time and exactly to the spec we wanted. Quality standard of work.
Lewis is great to deal with. As well as knowing his trade, he’s good at updating on progress/next steps and checking in to make sure we’re getting what we want. His team are the same - polite and good communication.
100% recommendation from us.

Very happy with the service provided, back garden needed a lot of work, new decking, paved pathway and artificial grass installed, looks great and works great.
We will be calling this company again soon to do our drive, would highly recommend.

Booked for a free survey and quotation for Thursday afternoon.

He phoned that afternoon and said he was running very late and could we do it same time the next day, Friday.

I said yes, but then he never turned up. Have heard nothing since.

If he didn't want the job, he should have said instead of wasting my time.

That would be because you never turned up to do the survey and quote, therefore I never became your client!

I had high hopes for this company who go by the name of Hamilton Driveways but their website is listed as drivewaysandpatios.
I accepted the quote to have our driveway blocked paved and arranged an installation date. I was open to accepting a cancellation and I was contacted a couple of days before with a new date of the 19th July. I waited in all day on the 19th and midday rang the company to ask them their ETA. They arrived at about 3pm to re-measure and said they would show us some examples re colours. They stayed for about 15 minutes showed no samples and returned the next day at about 8am with a 3 man team.
Dug out the driveway, worked hard and were very polite. However, in the afternoon the boss, Lewis asked for a 55% payment up front to buy materials. I was surprised at the percentage but knew that most firms do like a payment upfront. However, it would have been nice to have been forewarned about this in previous discussions.
All the colour combos we wanted were according to him out of stock with his suppliers and he never did show us samples but we had to show him google images of what we wanted.
We then settled on our colour. They worked hard and well but I felt at the end of the week they were rushing to finish. On the last day an hour in to the job, Lewis asked for the rest of the money to be transferred into his account and this I did and within another hour he and his team were gone. I did show him that a couple of bricks were missing at the front and he assured me he would come back later on the next week and replace them. I also gave him permission to put up his board to advertise the driveway. He also said he would send me a receipt for the full amount which I have not received.
Despite chasing him by texts and emails I have had no response. My husband has now had to go out and purchase two bricks himself to finish off the job.
Its such a shame because throughout the job they were helpful, polite and hardworking but it seemed as soon as they got their money they were not interested and did not even say goodbye
I fully intended to give them a five star review but unfortunately their customer service is rated as a three.
