Beautiful photos but an incredibly stressful experience

We hired Aaron Duke Photography for our wedding, and while the final photos were truly lovely, the overall experience was extremely disappointing and stressful.

From our very first meeting, both my wife and I felt uncomfortable around Aaron, but we brushed it off, assuming it was just part of his personality. Unfortunately, that feeling only escalated on the wedding day. He was incredibly intrusive, more so than a wedding photogrspher should be, climbing over our furniture while my wife was getting ready, showing little respect for her space or comfort.

During the group photos, Aaron repeatedly wandered off, leaving it to the videographer, Conan Joshua Weddings — who acts completely separately from Aaron — to step in and organise everyone. Without Conan's professionalism and help, we wouldn’t even have had those essential group shots captured. He was friendly, extremely professional, and seemed genuinely shocked that Aaron had not fulfilled his side of the work as promised.

Our contract clearly stated we would receive our photos within 4–6 weeks, but it took almost three months. Worse, we only got our wedding video after personally tracking down and chasing the videographer ourselves, resulting in an almost five-month delay. As for our album, that didn’t arrive until eleven months after the wedding.

Adding to the frustration, we later found out that Aaron had spent our money on his personal issues rather than fulfilling the services we paid for. He even sent inappropriate early-morning messages to my wife discussing his personal problems, which was incredibly unprofessional. When we chased him about the overdue products, he responded by accusing us of not being considerate of his mental health, rather than taking responsibility for his contractual obligations.

While the photos we finally received were beautiful, they came at the cost of an exhausting and upsetting experience. We would not recommend Aaron Duke Photography to anyone looking for a professional, reliable, and respectful photographer.
