Avoid Dunleas Car Dealership - Untrustworthy and Inefficient

I bought a car from Dunleas that was supposedly fully serviced but had a faulty reservoir sensor, low fluid levels, bad tyres, and no working rear indicator. I raised these issues multiple times before signing and was assured they’d be fixed — they weren’t.
Further faults kept appearing, and Dunleas repeatedly dismissed serious problems, including exposed wires in tyres and dangerous rear alignment found by another garage. They also failed to disclose the car was a Japanese import, which caused major issues down the line.
Despite waiting 12 weeks for a second key and 7 weeks for repairs (that solved nothing), Dunleas washed their hands of any responsibility. A finance investigation later described them as “inefficient and unreasonable.”
I’ve been left out of pocket, without a car, and with no accountability from them. Dunleas showed no integrity, professionalism, or care for their customers. I strongly advise avoiding them.

Professional and hepful Salesman

We visited Kia Kilcullen to enquire about a new car. Martin looked after us, he was very professional and explained patiently all we needed to know, expecially about finance. When Martin assessed our own trade in he spotted a small issue and he went above and beyond our expectations to get it sorted!

I had an exceptional experience purchasing a car from Paddy at Dunleas Kilcullen. Unlike other dealerships that barely responded, Paddy went above and beyond, providing clear and detailed information about the Kia Niro. Even on a Saturday, he ensured all options were considered and maintained seamless communication. His dedication to customer satisfaction was impressive, and I appreciated his regular check-ins. To top it off, I received a €250 shopping voucher, which was a lovely surprise. I highly recommend Paddy and Dunleas Kilcullen for anyone looking to buy a car – his professionalism and personalized service make all the difference.

I BAUGHT A KIA SPORTAGE HERE AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID IT HAD RAN A HEALTH CHECK,ALL GREAT BUT NO 7 FAULTS LATER ,NO LIGHTS,DEAD BATTERY,BAD SUPENSION,FLAT TYRE,GEARBOX WENT AND THEY SAID THEY FIXED IT BUT 9 MONTHS LATER THE GEARBOX FAILED AS THEY FORFOT TO PUT THE OIL NUT IN IT AND IT DISTROYED THE GEARBOX AND WHEN I SENT IT BACK THEY LEFT IT ON THE LONG FINGER SAYING THEY WOULD HAVE TO CHECKNIT FIRST BUT IT NEVER WENT ON THE RAMP OF 2 WEEKS WAITING.STAY CLEAR FROM USING THEM

Issue and Unacceptable Service from Dunleas of Kilcullen

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction. After a previous two-month ordeal to fix a fuse, my vehicle developed a dangerous steering wheel issue.

On March 26, 2025, I brought my car to Dunleas of Kilcullen due to the steering wheel moving uncontrollably, even when parked, and causing the car to veer sideways while driving. I have video evidence of this dangerous malfunction.

The following day, March 27, 2025, I was told no issue was found. When I demonstrated the problem to technician "Antony," he admitted he had never seen it before and stated he couldn't help. He refused to keep the car for further investigation, dismissing the problem as insignificant and shockingly, told me to diagnose the issue myself. As a customer, I am not qualified to diagnose complex EV technical issues.

This is a serious safety hazard. The uncontrolled steering wheel movements pose a significant risk, especially as I have a pregnant wife and rely on this car daily.

I have filed formal complaints with Kia Ireland and the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), not helpful at all!

Dunleas of Kilcullen's service was utterly unacceptable. Their refusal to properly investigate and resolve this warranty issue is appalling. I am deeply concerned about the safety of my vehicle and the dismissive attitude of their staff.

Kia Ireland, I demand you honor your warranty and ensure my car is repaired immediately.

I strongly advise anyone considering purchasing a Kia, particularly from Dunleas of Kilcullen, to be aware of my experience. The lack of concern for customer safety and the refusal to address a clear warranty issue is deeply troubling.

I will update this review with the outcome of my complaints.

Avoid Dunleas of Kilcullen and be cautious when dealing with Kia Ireland regarding warranty repairs!
