Horrible encounter

Horrible encounter. Our journey from Toulouse to Bordeaux led us to choose the E.Leclerc station for refueling. They held 150 EUR initially, even though we only purchased 60 EUR worth of fuel. Consequently, I didn't receive the remaining amount that should have been returned to me.

Never use E.Leclerc petrol stations!

Never use E.Leclerc petrol stations! I made 3 attempts at different pumps to purchase petrol but my card was declined each time. Despite being declined E.Leclerc still deducted 200 euros for each attempt as a pending card payment. This has completely emptied my bank account and I'm now stranded in France with no money. It's been 5 days since this happened. I've been living out of my car and relying on other people for food as a result. My bank says that E.Leclerc transactions take 30 days to resolve and my only option is to contact them to provide me with proof that they won't take the money so that my bank can reverse the charges sooner. Big surprise, E.Leclerc don't have a customer service contact for this sort of thing. I'm screwed.

Buyers beware of Leclerc France for returns.

Buyers beware!!!
Buying an item from Leclerc? a scooter , cool box paddle board electrical item then think again!,!,!
Leclerc are not like a UK supermarket where you can take things back to any branch in any town or city.
Each Leclerc is a stand alone business and WILL NOT accept returns for items purchased from another Leclerc store.
We bought a €180 cool box as our motorhome fridge packed up.
100 miles later and it was clear the CampingGaz cool box was not working properly.
A call to CampingGaz UK informed us we had bought a bad unit and they were recalled in the uk.
We called into a huge Leclerc on our way home to get a refund or replacement to be told NON,
!!,!!!!
Take it back to the store you bought it from.
A 200 mile drive and a ton of fuel made this a non starter.
Now progressing a warranty claim through CampingGaz
Again buyer beware of Leclerc

Don’t use E Leclerc

We have also suffered at the hands of E Leclerc and put our card in twice. They have ended up taking over 300 euros and no petrol. This actually must be illegal. To have someone’s money but to not to have provided the goods.

Terrible company

While travelling in France I refuelled my motorhome. I didn't realise I didn't have enough on my debit card €150 minimum so the transaction was cancelled. I transferred money onto it and then refuelled. When checking my account €150 had been taken plus the cost of the fuel. I contacted my bank that told me there was nothing they could do and I would have to provide all sorts of evidence to get the money back or wait 4 weeks for the €150 to be repaid. How do they get away with dipping their hand into your money and then leave it in their account for 4 weeks. Just incredible. I'm now in the process of making a formal complaint and will be claiming compensation for all my trouble. Needless to say I won't be using Leclerc again either for fuel or shopping they are banned.

Refused to sell a piece of wood.

Had workers in the house to fit a new oven. Half centimeter too high, required moving a microwave higher. Workers told me to go get a piece of wood 55cm by 60 cms. Went to LeClerc brico saint Astier and the shop worker refused to cut a piece of wood that small saying he would not be able to use the leftover. Workers left and told me to go into the city of Perigeaux to another D.I.Y shop. There was no problem. I have bought a lot of things from this shop but now I will use internet more.

Crap aftersales service (like none)

Ordered a Faure oven on line and comms were great. Arrived on time with plenty of tracking updates.

Opened wrapping. No power cable or connections of any means. The manual does not cover installation and is more of a cookery leaflet. The base door of the over isnt a door aalthough you would think it should be a drawer, and is hanging off.

Called leClerc no reply and online chat put me through to some deaf service after 20 minute. I am not the one who is hard of hearing. Overall service absolutely shocking. Once they have your money that's it, no help at all,

EXEMPLARY SERVICE BY STORE PERSONNEL

In the Cherbourg Tourlaville store on 30 Sept. I bought goods including one grille (toaster). I returned to England where I discovered that I had been charged for two units. I contacted e.leclerc on 2 October and over the next three days received unbelievable assistance including a full refund for the second unit. I have NEVER received such prompt dedicated service in any countries that I have visited such as this. Well done e.leclerc. Keep it up. Kind regards Thomas

Bought an item online

Bought an item online , was advertised with a 30% discount to be added to my card, discount never happened. Sent several emails to customer service, never had a reply. Not much money involved, it's the principle. First and last time I will use their online service.

Customer Service? What is that?

I am shocked by the truly atrocious level of customer service at what I have always considered to be a leading brand in France along with the other large supermarket chains. I bought a TNT satellite box from them and when I plugged it in it did not work. I took it back to the store only to be told that I could not have a refund. After a heated discussion they agreed to investigate the problem (via the manufacturer) and if they found a problem with the box they said they would offer me store credit to the value that I paid. To cut a long story short, they have since come up with further objections and have put the onus firmly on me to prove that the box is faulty. They have refused to plug in the box in-store for me to prove that it is faulty. I am close to giving up at this point! That is €120 down the drain plus all the journeys to the store! I will NEVER shop at a Leclerc again!

Gas station NIGHTMARE

For a non-French citizen, this place is a NIGHTMARE! Went to refuel my car in LeClerc gas station, self service. I went in and put my debit card inside, it took my deposit 150e immediately, but i canceled operation as i wasnt sure which type of fuel to put. I took my card out, then went again in, transaction done, finished my operation - but I NEVER GOT MY FIRST 150 euros DEPOSIT BACK!!!! W.t.f.!!! my bank cant do nothing about it, the staff is helpless, nightmare! Stay away!!!

For such a large company shocking IT

Shopping at our local e.leclerc is OK but the staff could be happier. Although this seems to be a constant around the country reading other reviews.
What is really bad about this company is their e commerce side of the business. I have had an account with them for about 4 years then last week when I tried log in the site reported an error. Tried to log in to auto.e.leclerc and told to change my password for security reasons. Did as requested but still did not work. Sent email to them asking for assistance. The reply was the usual; delete cache, cookies, history etc, try another browser and or device. Had done all that but nevertheless less still no access. Sent screen shots of errors being received but not even the courtesy of a reply.
In addition the Norauto next to the Montmorillon store changed into an auto.e.leclerc about six weeks ago. It does not appear on their website so even if I could log in our local store is not on their website so can't buy any tyres. Someone in e.leclerc needs to sort out their IT department. In the meantime look elsewhere for your tyres if in the Montmorillon area.

Thieves?prospère?

In July 2020 I ordered a Television and soundbar from Leclerc online, as part of it was never delivered to the pick up store I refused acceptance and ask for a refund by email. I was told it would take 4 weeks, it is now February 2021 and after many emails and letters I have still not received a refund or explanation. They have just stolen my money.

WORST SERVICE & DANGEROUSE

My wife took our car into E lerclerc Auto in S Jean d Angely to have a puncture repaired, she was told to leave the tire & they would call when ready, I was surprised that it could not be done while she waited as the car had an emergency wheel fitted, which is for only limited distance in an emergency.
As my wife does not speak French I gave her a note in French.
The next day we had a phone call to collect, when she arrived they refused to fit the repaired wheel to the car, a 5 minute job.
My wife has had to drive 150K on an emergency wheel only suitable fo about a hundred at a slow speed.
We still can not use the car as the wheel is in the boot & my wheelchair will not fit into the boot.
Is this the service you expect from
L AUTO - E. LECLERC a national chain in France.
This is the note in French shown to the garage - we live 44k from this place
