Hi Stephen,

We state during the booking process and in the confirmation voucher the required documents for your rental regardless of the insurance you choose to purchase on the day.

We are sorry to hear you did not meet the driver requirements but should you find your circumstances change, please familiarise yourself with our handy 5-point checklist at www.easirent.com/mandatory-documents/ before booking in future.

Not-Easirent!!!

My driving licence is away with DVSA to have categories added. But a certificate proving so (for use in situations just like this) isn’t good enough. Not even with a copy of my licence and the fact that they scanned my licence a month ago for my last hire here. So we thought we could use my girlfriends licence and hire in her name? Nope, because she needs a credit card in the drivers name for the insurance excess but because she’s not a debtor, she doesn’t have a credit card. Offered to pay / pre-authorise on a debit card but not good enough. Not even with passports, utility bills, and bank statements. So we asked, for a refund for the hire but they refused because you have to give notice. Apparently it’s all in the small print when we booked at 1am in the morning. Seriously guys ... good companies don’t do ‘small print’ anymore ... if you’re going to operate like the Gestapo you really should make stuff like this crystal clear when booking online. Eg; big letters explaining all your rules and that you don’t accept a certificate in lieu from the DVSA.
