We hired a car at Rethymno (Kreta) for nearly one week with Hybrid drive, furious accelerating behaviour and made a large scratch in the front foil short before giving back. The sales women, receiving the car and confronted with the damage was so kind, to calm down my nerves and brought me back to my hotel without any complaints. After one week the repair costs were transmitted, which had been very moderately und absolutely fair.
This is by far the worst car hire experience!
We arrived at the airport and were met to be told that our car wouldn't be available for 2 hours and would we like to wait in Chania until it became available.
We were then offered an alternative, which we were not sure if it was road worthy, by the sounds of the suspension! Eventually the rep offered to deliver our car to our villa once it was ready. This was done, but we have no idea if it was cleaned inside. There was no offer of compensation and we were asked to sign to say the initial car was in perfect condition when every panel on the car had damage.
