We had an extremely poor experience with Easycar and the local rental company. Due to a delay completely beyond our control, our original rental agreement was cancelled – even though Easycar had confirmed via WhatsApp that this would not happen.
We arrived at the rental office well before 11 PM, yet were told we were “too late” because the manager had to be called first. As a result, our booking was cancelled. At 1 AM, we found ourselves with three women stranded on a dark parking lot without transportation. Our only options were to rent a new, much more expensive car or arrange other transport ourselves.
At the small airport there were no taxis available, so out of sheer necessity we had to sign a new rental contract. The result: we paid twice for a rental car. Easycar refuses to reimburse us and hides behind the newly signed contract, even though they had earlier confirmed in writing that we could still collect the car.
To make matters worse, Ahmed from Easycar offered no solution whatsoever and brushed us off with generic, meaningless responses.
All of this happened outside of our control. The communication was misleading, the service amateurish, and customer care non-existent. The moment something goes wrong, they completely abandon you. We will never rent here again and strongly advise others to avoid this company.

Renting with EasyCarHire in Palermo was one of the worst travel decisions we’ve ever made. We paid the maximum insurance rate so we wouldn’t have to worry about anything, and were assured verbally and in writing that scratches were fully covered and only structural damage would be charged.
The car was handed over in awful condition: multiple pre-existing scratches, underinflated tires (warning on the dashboard), no refrigerant gas, broken air conditioning (only worked on setting 4), and a baby seat with no padding. All documented with photos and videos.
When returning the car — with more fuel than received and no visible new damage — they suddenly claimed there were two “new” scratches (without any prior proof) and kept the €300 deposit. We have a recording of their own staff confirming that scratches would not be charged.
This is not an isolated case: a quick search on Google or here on Trustpilot shows that many customers report the same pattern — old, damaged cars and abusive charges for minimal damage that was already there.

I rented a car for holidays in Greece and I wasn't allowed to have as I won't be able to cross the island! this info was not very clear in the contract! and should have been in the top important info they had on the confimation!
I called the customer service and Mariam from UK support were useless and she denied me to talk to a manager!
NEVER AGAIN EASYCAR OR EASYJET

Easy pick up. Friendly service. Although the car was not in the best condition.
Easy return of vehicle and transport to airport
Rentscape provided me with a car with no oil. Zero oil on the dipstick. I bought oil and the engine noise was gone. Unacceptable.
Horrible service. I booked a car and paid for it in advance. When i got to the frontdesk they told me my license wasn’t eligible according to the terms & conditions. So basically i paid for a car i wasn’t even supposed to drive in the first place and i can’t get a refund. Ridiculous

Horrible… they take your money and you dont get anything in return. Somewhere on there website theres a document stating you have to have your license for a year before you they give you a car. When you dont look for it, you wont find it. When you reserve the car and later it turns out they wont rent it to you, you dont get your money back. They stole hundreds of euro’s from us. Who actually reads the whole terms and agreements before clicking the box??! We payed for nothing. And service is very bad.

Let me book a 9 seater car for a holiday then waited 3 days to rebook me a 7 seat car and then spent 30 mins on live chat to eventually get them to cancel.

Abandoned by EasyCar – No Car, No Desk, No Help
We booked a car via EasyCar for Marseille Airport (Booking Ref: FR350912760), only to arrive and discover there was no car, no rental desk, and no representative—just an empty car park and unanswered phone numbers. With two young children, grandparents, and luggage in tow, we were stranded at night at a foreign airport.
Other rental company staff confirmed it’s a known issue with this supplier. Another family beside us faced the same ordeal.
We had to secure a last-minute replacement from Europcar at €1,888.45—a huge, unexpected cost—and have been fighting for redress ever since. We submitted a detailed email complaint with evidence on 24 July and were told to use a chatbot complaint system that’s biased and confusing. It took multiple chases and conflicting responses to even get a ticket opened.
No one has followed up. No refund. No apology.
This is unacceptable. EasyCar failed to deliver the paid-for service and abandoned us in a distressing situation.
If this isn’t resolved quickly, we will have to escalate to our credit card provider and relevant consumer protection bodies.
We are still waiting. Do better, EasyCar.
Update following reply.
I've emailed 6 times already: Customerservices@easycar and res@easycar. I'll forward the complaint to this new address as well
Update 09 Aug - still no response despite emailing the new address. one final attempt before raising a Section 75 Claim via my Credit Card provider
Update 30 Aug – Still no response from EasyCar, even 10 days past their stated resolution timeframe. Multiple emails and chatbot complaints have gone unanswered. Which has increased the ongoing stress, disruption and increasing overdraft charges.
The matter is now escalated via my credit card provider under Section 75.

Was easy to book, must look for hidden charges though.
Terrible experience, complete scam, do not use this company.
Rented a car from Catania Airport in Sicily. We were preasured to take an additional 450€ insurrance with almost threatening that something would happen to the car if we did not.
Still tried to avoid it, but then they simply would not give us the car at all - unless we could pay with a credit card on the exact name of the primary driver, which we do not have. Using a debit card or a credit card on another name was not possible with no explanation given. So after over an hour of quarreling with extremely unfriendly customer service at >30°C we bit into the sour apple and just payed it.
On top we were afterwards charged another 400€ for a tiny scratch we caused in the plastic above one of the wheels. I understand a charge of course but the amount is more than unreasonable and also even the additional insurrence we did not want does leave 500€ retention because **** the customer.

The drop off needs to be looked at for people with accessibility needs. Well below standards

We booked via EasyCar with Green Motion in Corfu.
Green Motion then went on to scam us (and we saw them do the same to other people when we dropped of the car- it was ugly as heck and even had a staff member swearing and squaring up to a customer), and fraudulently force us to upgrade on collection of the car. We called EasyCar to help us and they were completely useless.
EasyCar do not care once they have your money, and there is clearly no vetting process of the car hire companies they associate with. The tin pot operation in Corfu is hideous and the worst car hire experience I've ever had.
I spoke with customer services twice whilst on the holiday as I was so anxious about returning the car to Green Motion as they were scamming tourists left and right. I hoped to recoup the 150 Euro I'd fraudulently been forced to pay. The T&Cs are wooly as hell and I proved that they had no right to charge us. EasyCar didn't care - "our hands are tied"
Book direct with a reputable car hire company - and whatever you do AVOID GREEN MOTION AT ALL COSTS.

Easycar keeps customer money without providing a service. I prepaid a car through Easy Car with my American Express and bought fully comp insurance. The car rental company wanted to put a hold of 2,500 euros on my card but would not accept American Express. I presented them with my Santander debit card, and although they take debit cards, they would not accept it for a hold. It does not stipulate this in the car company's terms and conditions, nor does it say it in EasyCar's. It says in the car company's terms and conditions that they accept a debit card from a bank. I presented them with another credit card, and the PIN failed to work. I said I needed to call my bank as it was a new card, and she replied that the system will cancel out the booking automatically as we've started it. I couldn't even save the booking with my alternate credit card as the booking was no longer there. The car company did not charge EasyCar, and EasyCar still will not refund the money. Every time I call EasyCar, an agent says they will look into it, and I agree I did everything I could to pick up the car. I even sent them a photo of my debit card upon their request and said I could provide proof funds were available to put on hold, or take, then refund when the car was returned. The fact that the car rental company did not charge EasyCar, and yet EasyCar are refusing to refund the money, is consumer theft! I had asked the agents to escalate to a manager, and they avoided confirming whether it had or getting me to speak to a manager. It's a very suspect way of doing business. Do not trust this company!
Thank you for your response, but I'm not sure what you mean by abbreviations? The response I got after I sent my card was reiterating the terms and conditions which I applied to. There was no mention of abbreviations. I don't even know what you mean by abbreviations. It's a debit card issued by a bank!
It's like you are looking for ways to keep my money. GoldCar did not charge you - so why are you keeping the money?
The response from EasyCar is that as a gesture of goodwill they refunded the insurance. The insurance was with AXA and they are a reputable company. They would not keep my money and it says in EasyCar's terms and conditions that if the car is not hired, then the insurance will be fully refunded. Onto the abbreviations on my debit card... EasyCar's terms and conditions state that they will not accept CREDIT cards with abbreviations. It does not mention DEBIT cards in the EasyCar's terms and conditions. In EasyCar's terms and conditions it mentions to bring "a" credit card and did not say that the dealer doesn't take American Express. Again, this is EasyCar customer service looking for ways to keep people's money without providing a service and pretending to look good with false gestures of goodwill. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
FOUND THE BELOW IN THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS THAT YOU SENT ME 4 DAYS BEFORE THE BOOKING---------
*Please note that cards with abbreviations are now accepted at Goldcar locations*.
So technicality of "abbreviations" on any card is null and void. I have raised a dispute to get my money back.

Booking a hire car can be stressful - but not in this case ! Thrifty provided me with an excellent service from start to finish at a very competitive rate - what was there not to like ! Thank you Thrifty .. I will be back !
Easy to find a rental via Easy Car, great service and very nice staff.
process of booking car was easy. However, if you have problems you need to remember that they are a third party and that trying to get a solution is more difficult because you can get passed around while they decide who is responsible. I will probably book directly with a car hire company in future, that way you know who your dealing with.
