The easy filer was easy to use. The free sample allowed you to check your files would work before paying. Easyfiler created and submitted my CT600 and I have just paid my Corporation Tax. Job done. The issue I had was getting a Corporation Tax Computation File which worked. The one from my accounts package did not work and I could not identify all the errors. I ended up using Notepad to reduce the HMRC sample file from ~1000 entries to the ~20 I needed and then populate it with my figures.

This is great, especially if you only have one company to file for. Populates the CT600 return with the required data and submits it electronically to HMRC. Easy to use and great value!

Just managed to file my first CT returns, yay! I thought I had left it too late (which I had, 3 days before deadline) and thought perhaps I won't be able to use Brian's service. Brian responded within 3-4 hours of my email with the IXBRL version of the accounts with a correction, and helpful explanation thank you! Then all I needed to do was to review the files and make payment. Once done, I was able to attach the relevant files to the return and use the navigation tab on the forms to review CT600 form. What I did not appreciate was that the iXBRL files that Brian created, had automatically updated all the relevant figures (which were only a few) on the CT600 form. I unnecessarily wasted a few hours trying to do things which were not needed such as trying to include expenses etc on the CT600. I emailed Brian for advice and he responded promptly that none of that was required. Well, then all was needed was to tick few boxes on the form, type name /role on the declaration page and enter HMRC business tax account username and password. Remember the Corporation tax return must be activated on your HMRC account otherwise this process might not work. So yes, it was an easy process but my own misunderstanding made me waste a few hours. But now that I know next time would be easy peasy! and i hope this review might help somone else who is using this service.

The checks that Easyfiler carry out gives me confidence that I have input the correct figures into my accounts and balance sheet. The form is prepopulated which makes it easy to complete. It is also easy to log on and to retrieve previous years tax returns.
