Great service

Mike and his team work hard to deliver high quality, sustainable timber and have an incredible knowledge of their industry. Would recommend.

LARCH CLADDING. Very poor product and service

We ordered vertical larch cladding boards from Ecochoice and agreed a section profile that will suit the project. after paying everything in advance, the boards arrived after several weeks. The wood was very good but the profile had been cut differently from what we had agreed and did not guarantee proper protection from rainwater, lacking minimum overlap. The ecochoice website claims certain standards (like wood heart facing out and minimum board overlaps) that are not reflected in the product they delivered.
The company apologized and sent a new batch that was of really poor quality wood despite having the right profile. The company blamed their mill and they seem to have no control over the product they supply. after a series of painful negotiations that delayed our work on site by weeks, we decided to claim a full refund and go with a different supplier. To obtain the refund and for the company to organize the pickup of the larch boards took several weeks and loads more painful chasing. We would not recommend this company for quality timber supply. Despite the good will of their agents, they do not seem to be in control of the product they supply.

Dear Francesco,
we are sorry you were unhappy with the larch cladding. The first delivery was indeed of an unexpectedly high grade, so it's understandable that when the replacements arrived they looked inferior, even though they also met the Unsorted grade - this can happen since timber is a natural material and allows for variations within each quality grade. We would also like to apologise again for the delay but the timber industry as a whole had been struggling with supply issues since Covid (and Brexit). I believe the full refund has now reached your account and would welcome the opportunity to work with you again and show why virtually every customer of ours is happy with our products and service.
