Appalling customer support!!!

So I bought a second hand Elektron Digitakt II from eBay, and the screen was scratched - I contacted Elektron and they charged me €40 for a replacement screen (Perspex window panel, not the display) - my engineer removed the protective film and the screen was scratched underneath! - I contacted Elektron support, they asked for photos, then accused us of scratching the screen ourselves! After a lot of wrangling I reluctantly paid another €40, and they dispatched a second screen - again scratched like first, and both were obviously seconds/returns and not factory fresh pristine screens - I have reluctantly told my engineer to fit the least scratched of the two as I have lost all confidence in their support which is a shame, as their products are sensational!

*** UPDATE *** the company offered to send me a third one, free of charge (I still had to pay €30 for shipping however) and I finally got a pristine brand new screen - my engineer charged me £45 to fit it, so in total, it’s cost me approx £150 (1/6th the cost of a new unit!) to get my screen perfect. Can’t change my review from one star as it took three screens until I got a perfect one! 😡😡😡

Don't buy into the current range of Elektron boxes

This is is a PSA from a user who owns lot's of their machines and that has gotten tired of the trend they are setting of not properly testing their machines before launch and leaving us consumers to beta test their 1000€ products. It has been very disrupting to my workflow to have to deal with bugs and faults in my new Digitakt 2 everyday. I bought into their ecosystem and learned to accept the many quirks and inherent design flaws in the digitakt 1, syntakt, digitone, but with these new boxes I don't recommend anyone buy them. They aren't serious about being a cutting edge tool developer for musicians. They omit obvious features and release unfinished products and if they where cheaper then fine, but this is not acceptable.

I love the product - Support Needs to be Faster!

I love the product but have had issues with my Octatrack Mark 1 following a firmware update, 2 weeks after submitting a support request I have finally got a response. The Elektron product is AMAZING - sure you pay for what you get but it really is incredible. Support could be improved.

The Best machines AND the best customer service!

I bought an Octatrack second hand and it didn't have the preset samples. I emailed Elektron HQ and they sent me the files FOC immediately.
I have had numerous tech questions over the years with the three (soon to be four) bits of kit I own by them, and they have always answered my within the hour and solved my problem.
They're Swedish, they're obviously borderline crazy geniuses and I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Good and reliable company

I'dd bought an octatrack sampler second-hand when suddenly out of nowhere my powersupply stopped working. Sent a message to elektron support, and when i got through i was told to mail them the broken PSU, and i'dd get a new one back, which i did some days later. all in all a good experience with their support. the reason for the missing final star was the fact that my support-ticket went unanswered for about a week before i sent them an email asking for an answer, after which everything went smooth.

Bottom line - a great company with great items to offer.
