Fake 2K Resolution & Fraudulent Warranty Policy - Avoid this brand!

I purchased the Ellie Baby Plus in July 2025 and started using it in December. As a long-time user of their older Simshine model, I was shocked to find that this "newer" and "upgraded" Plus model is a massive step backward in quality.

Despite being advertised as "2K Resolution," the image is extremely blurry and pixelated. I conducted a side-by-side test at a distance of 85cm (standard crib height). The older model is sharp and clear, while the new Plus model cannot even resolve the text on a package of baby wipes. It is completely unfit for monitoring a baby's safety.

When I contacted support in January 2026, the experience was appalling. They claimed the product was "discontinued" to avoid replacing it. When I provided undeniable photographic proof of the hardware defect, they sent me irrelevant system memory logs to "prove" the device works, while ignoring the visible optical failure.

They are now refusing to honor their one-year warranty, claiming this isn't a "quality issue." They even demanded that I pay for return shipping for a defective product, which violates the UK Consumer Rights Act and North American warranty laws.

This brand (under SimShine/Ellie Technology) uses international shells to evade responsibility. Do not trust their "AI" marketing—the hardware is cheap, and their customer service is purely designed to stonewall you until you give up. I am currently filing a chargeback with my bank and reporting their UK-registered entity to the authorities.

I purchaseUnreliable Baby Monitor and Poor Post-Warranty Supportd the Ellie Smart Baby…

I purchased the Ellie Smart Baby Monitor Pro in July 2023 with the expectation that it would provide peace of mind while monitoring our baby. Unfortunately, our experience with this product has been deeply disappointing from early on.

Within a few weeks of setup, essential features like push notifications stopped working on both connected phones. The app frequently logged us out, and we had to constantly restart it or reconnect the camera to restore basic functionality. Despite a stable home network and updated app versions, these issues persisted throughout the device’s use.

We continued using the monitor purely out of necessity, even though its functionality was severely limited. Unfortunately, we can’t even do that – the device no longer powers on at all.

Despite the long trail of technical issues and clearly poor performance from early in its life, the company refused to offer a partial refund because the warranty had expired. Their offer of a discount on a future purchase was not only inadequate but also dismissive, given the circumstances.

For an AUD $300 device intended to safeguard something as important as a baby’s well-being, this level of unreliability and lack of accountability is unacceptable. I would not recommend this product to anyone, and I strongly advise caution before making a purchase.

Awful company baby cam arrived broken

Awful company. Baby cam arrived broken and they refused to fix it. Took several weeks to hear back from them as they are in a different time zone and had to chase multiple times. Their only customer support is via email. On their website you can review the products but they will only post them if they are 4 star or above. Would not recommend
