Exceptional carers and home
My mum was in hospital after breaking her hip, and I was asked if they could put her into a care home to convalesce before returning home. My brother and I went to see the home, unannounced and entered through the kitchen, which was spotlessly clean, work tops shining and smelling beautiful. We agreed mum could stay short term until carers could be found but post-covid/Brexit, no carers were available. It was Mum who said, 'could I not just stay here? I love my room, the staff are all so caring and good to me and the food is very, very nice' . The thing that sets Endeavour apart from other homes is that they genuinely do 'care' about their residents, Professional singers dressed in evening attire come to partake in singalongs of the old songs, a hairdresser comes in once a fortnight, there is cooking, craft, games and even a garden party once a year that the family are invited to. Mum had a cake with candles for her birthday each year up until her 99th and Christmas was always made a great deal of. In practical terms, if there was even a slight question of a health issue, a Dr would be contacted or out of hours 111 were immediately telephoned. Mum and all our family really appreciated all the love and care she received for almost three years.
