Two techs cause damage for a senior lady!
Two Techs recently came to install a new gas water heater in my basement area. They were not directly from Enercare. They didn't introduce themselves and went to the basement. I was called down and one tech said we can't do the installment because "there's a bed against the wall"??? I said, "What does that have anything to do with installing a water heater". I could hardly understand their accents! "Can't have anyone in the room next to where the water heater is in case of a gas leak"! I have carbon monoxide detectors in the house and that bed in the next room would be gone very soon! Nope..can't install! The other tech says they can install another heater but "it will cost you a lot of money"!! I'm a 77 year old lady and I was literally shaking by then and told them to leave! There boss called me back and explained in english that I could understand about the other heater choice and the cost. I said OK and the two techs came back in talking to each other in their "language" and standing there with my front door wide open until I had to tell them to shut the door I had the heat on!!! The head tech then proceeded to start to take out tiles from the basement suspended ceiling and bent one in half ripping a chunk out the side and leaving a bend mark thereby destroying that tile. I told him to stop but he didn't listen. I called their boss about the damage and he all but gave me the "cold shoulder" and didn't seem to care! I cancelled the new appointment date the next morning after only sleeping about 4 hours that night! I won't have these two back in my house ever again!
fixed furnace in a timely manner
fixed furnace in a timely manner. Kevin was polite and kind. Went the extra mile to ensure that the problem was corrected, then checked and double checked. He was very informative but not pushy. Installed a new thermostat for my convenience. Great guy! I wish that all services were like this.
These guys are just a legal scam
These guys are just a legal scam. they rent water heaters with contracts that you can't get out of. DO NOT EVERY GET IN A CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY, you will regret it.

Not Terrible Service, Non-Existent Service
Possibly the worst customer service possible. The customer service is not based in Canada. We had a gas leak and Enbridge turned off our gas. We waited 7 hours for Enercare and then they canceled our emergency service call. They do not offer 24hr service. Get a local company with local customer service. These guys are useless.
The technicians were Christian, Michael and Dawson
The technicians, Michael and Dawson, who installed our new hot water heater in Uxbridge April 9th were both efficient and very pleasant. We would give them both a 5/5 or 10/10 (highest rating)
Our service technician, Christian McGaffen, was equally pleasant and efficient with the repair completed on Monday, April 6, 2026. We would rate Christian a 5/5 or 10/10, the highest rating

Enacare Technician Kevin Green
Review for Enercare Technician Kevin Green
“I had an excellent experience with Enercare technician Kevin Green. His service was truly outstanding. Kevin demonstrated exceptional knowledge and expertise.
What impressed me most was his attention to detail and the way he treated the job as if it were his own home. He took the time to ensure everything was done perfectly, not just quickly.
Kevin’s courteous attitude and confident approach made the entire experience very reassuring. It’s rare to come across someone so professional, dedicated, and customer-focused.
Highly recommend Kevin Green, for anyone needing reliable and top-quality service.”
Enercare Protection & Maintenance Plans…
Enercare Protection & Maintenance Plans — think twice before you buy.
I was explicitly told that all parts would be covered when I signed up. Based on that assurance, I enrolled and have been paying for the last 2 years. I also ensured proper upkeep — my latest paid maintenance was done in November through them.
Everything sounds great — until you actually need help.
When a real issue occurred, the response I got was:
“You should have read the terms & conditions.”
That’s when the reality of these plans becomes clear.
Instead of fixing the issue, the technician partially disabled my furnace, leaving it non-functional in the middle of winter. This forced me, my family, and my 6-year-old daughter to leave our home due to the cold.
So what exactly are you paying for?
Enercare aggressively sells these plans via IVR, call centers, and multiple channels — promising peace of mind. But when it matters most, you’re left dealing with fine print and zero accountability.
This experience raises serious concerns about:
• Misleading coverage communication
• Lack of accountability during critical failures
This is not protection — it’s a costly lesson
Enercare Maintenance
Michael came to do the maintenance for my furnace and fireplace. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He explained everything about both at the end of the inspection and made some helpful suggestions. He went beyond by getting the remote for the fireplace to work. When finished he left everything in great shape. I was very pleased with the services he provided and with his positive attitude.
I bought my house from someone who was…
I bought my house from someone who was undiscerning enough to conclude a "rental contract" with the four-flushers of Enercare. I decided I wanted them out of my life, so I mandated them to "inspect" their water heater in my house to determine whether it was at the end of its useful life (in which case it was Enercare's responsibility to remove it) or whether I was required to buy them out. I was told an "inspection" would determine this. This is how the "inspection" visit unfolded today:
the person they sent to perform this inspection never performed it, which I consider to be a breach of their service agreement.
While I greeted him and showed him to the water heater installation, he asked me a bunch of impertinent and irrelevant questions, like when did I buy the house, which was none of his business, and about my nat gas boiler, which is owned by *me*, not Enercare, and which I answered completely and correctly, despite the fact that that *is none of his nor Enercare's business,* pointing out that:
the boiler is owned by *me* not Enercare
my service agreement for inspecting and maintenance of the boiler is with another company, *not* Enercare
the boiler is inspected annually, with service certificates to show for it - the last one being issued FEB 26 2026, and is completely up to code, and that the state of the boiler is between me, my service provider and the insurer, and is NONE OF ENERCARE'S BUSINESS
Then I left this "worker" in my basement to complete his "work", and went upstairs. Despite me answering *all* of his questions, irrespective of their impertinence and irrelevance, he emerged about a minute or so later to leave the premises. I said, "that was quick", after which he launched into a risible explanation to the effect that I was not sufficiently "conversational" enough with him for him to perform the inspection. lol
This person was given literally carte blanche to inspect this water heater. He was given literally all the time he needed, and complete liberty to do so. I'd booked the whole afternoon and left him alone to do whatever he wanted. But because I apparently didn't answer his questions the way he wanted - albeit honestly - that crossed the line, so he left.
What a garbage excuse for a company this is. They deserve all the scathing reviews they get online, and then some.
And like countless other commentators, I wish could could give these four-flushers a zero. Voilà
BEWARE OF ENERCARE CHEATING!
BEWARE. DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM..THEY WILL NOT REMOVE CHARGE FROM YOUR PROPERTY EVEN AFTER RECEIVING BUYOUT PAYMENT. Enercare and their customer services team cheated me. If I would have any star in negative, I will give it to Enercare. I have property closing next week and they are not removing the lein from my property. I am at the verge of defaulting the sale transaction. They took buyout money from me, and are not removing the charge on my property. In all my calls and discussion (before taking buyout payment from me) they confirmed that if I pay the buyout amount, they will remove the charge from my property and I will have nothing to do with the tenant's personal account. After taking the buyout money, Enercare changed, now they are saying that they will not remove lein on my property becasue of dues on tenant's personal account. So if tenant would not pay, will Enercare have right to keep lein on my property rather than adding this default payment onto tenants credit file? The same tenant defaulted payments of Enbridge and Alectra as well for his personal Enbridge and Alectra accounts, however Enbridge and Alectra were sensible enough that they put the default amount on Tenant's credit file rather than having charge on my property. But Enercare, they just want to lie and cheat through their customer services team to get the money from customer. And after getting buyout money, they will not remove the lien from customer's property and they will ensure that you suffer becasue you were their customer!

Enercare is a true scam.
Enercare said that I will save money. WRONG, IT COST LOTS MORE.
I TRYED TO CANCELL MY RENTING CONTRACT,hafter only 6 mounths, they still force me to pay for they syestems.(heatpump & hot waterless tank).
Stay Away From Enercare!
I want to give 0 stars but this won’t let me. Their name should be EnerDontCare. These people LIE LIE LIE! Please don’t fall for their protection plans. They will convince you to book a complimentary service call right away, but if you cancel the plan they will charge you for the call. Twice in a row their technicians didn’t show up for a service call. Then when one came he ordered the wrong part. Enercare refused to write off our tank even though it was bubbling and rusty on the outside, ready to leak. Instead they replaced parts. Twice they reviewed conversations we had because they didn’t believe me and then found that I wasn’t lying. I told them the company that replaced my water heater would be bringing it back. Then they refused to take it because I bought it out and bought from someone else. Their rental contract is 15 years. Our tank was 14 yrs and even though one technician said it should be replaced they refused. Other companies are 10 years. We bought ours instead for just over $2000. A huge savings and we don’t have to deal with these people - a bonus !

had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with this hot water tank rental company.
I would never ever ever ever use this company forever
For the past four years, I was repeatedly promised a $300 credit. Every time I called, I was told it would be applied—but it never was. Despite multiple follow-ups, nothing was ever honored.
I also tried reaching out to my salesperson, Steve, several times, but he never returned my calls. When I did manage to speak with him, his attitude was unprofessional and dismissive, which made the situation even worse.
On top of that, the billing feels completely unfair. The charges keep increasing without proper explanation, and it seems like they just continue adding more fees over time.
This experience has been extremely frustrating. Making promises and not keeping them, combined with poor customer service and constant overcharging, is unacceptable. I would not recommend this company to anyone—please be very careful before signing up.
Mo (Mewael) was very polite and Knowlegeable
