Great Gym really in need of TLC
This Eltham gym has many elements that make it really, really great but sadly many elements that really let it down, A LOT. What's great is the really friendly atmosphere. It's a proper, decent gym for regulars who want to train & get fit. The staff are helpful & friendly.
BUT it's a shame the owner is letting down the gym members & its staff by lack of investment & care for it & them.
Machines are often worn out or broken. It's really grubby, you can tell there's no proper cleaning plan in place. Upstairs is dark & gloomy, the women's changing room is always dank & there is definitely an issue with their plumbing, the smell has been awful for ages. I often have to tell the staff the changing room is dark & no toilet paper in there. The Yard floor is filthy. Maybe that's why the lighting is kept so dark?
Downstairs, the bins overflow, the paper towels & sanitizer sprays are empty & people don't return their weights to the rack... that's annoying but if the owner took more care to provide a well equipped, clean gym maybe the members might be more bothered to keep it tidy too. It's not the staff's fault, it looks like they are fed up with it too.
Despite the above, I absolutely love this place & I know other regulars do too. I've been a member for 18 months. It's inclusive of all ages, shapes, sizes, everything you want from a good gym. Other posh gyms & fancy places would pay to have the great atmosphere this place has.
The members invest in the membership, please can the owner do the same; invest & take care of this place, it needs a company in every few wks for a deep clean (not just hoping the staff will do it). Fix the broken plumbing & toilets & brighten up the changing rooms.
Please replace the worn out, knackered equipment with new, & more dumbells & benches would be great. I'm often having to cobble together an old step on some plates as there's rarely a free bench to use. I know many people have left to go to other gyms but this one suits me and I have gained so much from coming here, I'd just like it to be even better. And cleaner.
You have great staff & members, please look after us a bit more! 🙏🏼

The restroom/changing room is still…
The restroom/changing room is still smelling terribly. I even had a convo with another member and we were disgusted by the terrible smell in the ladies restrooms. There is no window and nothing to let fresh air in. The little air freshener that they placed in there is ridiculous as that does not solve the issue. There is something bigger beneath that needs to be tackled. I am seriously considering leaving this gym! And the staff is still not interacting at all. They look you dead in the eye and even through you. Rarely they smile or greet you. Terrible.

I regularly train at Energie Fitness…
I regularly train at Energie Fitness and am extremely disappointed with the state of the facilities. The gym equipment is dirty and covered in dust, indicating a lack of cleanliness and maintenance. Additionally, I was shocked to find that the main male toilette couldn't be locked, which is a major security concern. Furthermore, there was often no toilet paper available, making it incredibly inconvenient for gym-goers. The floor was frequently wet with urine or water, creating a hazardous environment, and to make matters worse, pubic hair could be seen on the floor, which is simply disgusting and unsanitary. Overall, my experience at Energie Fitness is concerning and I would not recommend it to others.

Machines and toilets need a good clean
Machines and toilets need a good clean. Lots of dust on the base of the treadmills and bikes.
There’s mold/ paint coming off the walls in stairwell.

Dirty place
Dirty place. Showers are not cleaned. No notes, where is only cold water and where is warm. Usually there js not blue paper in a trays to clean machines. No toilet paper. Top floor by machines is very dusty, carpet is damaged. Windows are absolutely dirty. No air, only one fan, in the end of the hall, and when is very overcrowded (most of the team in the evening from 4pm to 8pm) absolutely there is no air to breathe properly. Classes, i am scared to try, because as much i saw, only regular people who go knows what to do, trainer just sits and says what to do, but if i am new do i get attention and explanation? Not talking about all classes (saw this issue on Mondays and Tuesday evening classes). If i could cancel direct debit without no fee i would do that straight away. I am giving three stars, because i am kind, but no worth. I am talking about Eltham branch particularly. One more thing, there is one trainer who thinks that he is very handsome, always nose up, rude face and even not happy face when walking new people around. This i saw on Friday and Sunday.

Energie fitness feedback
I feel like the gym is too busy for the ratio of machines they have. I’ve been a couple of times now and there are no machines available which is disappointing and I’ve had to wait around for someone to come off so I could use it. It also doesn’t help when some of the equipment isn’t working and they have been out of use for quite a while.
Hygiene of the gym is not the best, there’s a lot of dust on the windows and the carpets, changing rooms are quite dirty.
Availability of parking, when’s it’s quite busy it’s also quite difficult to find a space to park which is also quite frustrating.
I know the gym doesn’t have a lot of space, but I walked passed the yoga class a few days ago and I felt they this should be done in a more private area as it’s quite a relaxing class so they people aren’t walking past staring and you don’t have the noise.
Other than these I feel like it’s an ok gym and is fit for purpose.

The team at energie Eltham are a friendly one. You know you don't get that feeling you're looked down on if you don't look like one of the cast of Magic Mike. The ladies in the gym are not leered at and treated with respect as far as i can tell..so that adds to the vibe.

It’s staff are friendly and the machines are great
It’s friendly, and I like that I rarely wait for a machine. I can get in an out efficiently to get on with my day.

Not a bad gym when there’s only a small…
Not a bad gym when there’s only a small number of ppl training, not enough equipment otherwise. We’ve left because to many kids there defo under age training in shoes and blazers in groups of up to 5/6 taking ages on machines. If you’re 18 or below this is the gym for you. On of the staff even admitted that there were 15 year olds training there
