A wedding in a Tipi
We booked for my daughters wedding almost a year in advance of the event. A 40+mph wind on the day the Tipis were meant to be erected 2 days before the event on 15th June caused some logistical problems but the team worked long hours to make sure the Tipis were in place. The cooking was meant to take place in a barn but uncertain weather meant they agreed to supply a kitchen pagoda at short notice. The harpist Elin Williams from Talsarnau helped provide a wonderfully chilled reception with canapés. The atmosphere inside and outside was superb. The pagoda provided easy access for the catering team. It all worked well on the day. Dancing until just before midnight and then chilling out inside after the majority of guests had left was great.
Is a Tipi easy to set up on a DIY wedding - no. The heating system worked well once my son remembered to press a button for 3 seconds to start it up.
We had an issue with water ingress the morning of the wedding at the very front that required some spare rope to provide support - hence the 4*.
The set up team and the deconstruct team were all very polite and worked really well in difficult circumstances.
