When I cancelled my membership
When I cancelled my membership, all within the contract rules, I was harassed 8 months later and threatened with charges and penalties for cancelling my direct debit. Awful business to deal with and frankly, looking to steal money off of their members.
Horrible company
Horrible company! I have been trying to cancel my membership for 3 months now! No reply to my emails, being lied on the phone, went 2 times in person and still nothing. According to them my membership is now cancelled awaiting a refund. Two weeks later, no refund. Reporting this to the authorities now.
The worst gym to cancel your membership
The worst gym to cancel your membership I have come across. I have been to many different gyms.
You cannot do this on the APP.
You cannot cancel through the online website.
If you go the website, it states to contact the Gym.
When you contact the gym, you are given an email address to the General Manager to cancel.
You also have to give one months notice as well in order to cancel which is a method to squeeze additional revenue.
In February I emailed my notice to cancel my membership so my last DD payment would have been 1st March. I sent two emails to cancel to the email address supplied. Just to be cautions I also cancelled my DD as well after paying the months notice.
As of now, mid October, my membership is still active and I am in debt according to their App. I attempted to contact the company directly through the company website, providing the details requested including my membership number. However, they ask to supply all your personal sensitive data and information to send by email or they won’t discuss your issue. I refuse to confirm sensitive data by email. A membership number is more than sufficient but they demand all sensitive data not considering emails are exposed to identify theft.
So I won’t be wasting anymore time on this. They can carry keeping my membership for as long as I could care. Won’t be paying a penny to their debt collectors if they decide to recover a dead membership if they cannot sort out their own issues.
Everlasting have a poor way of communicating. Extremely poor system to cancel memberships. There needs to be a system in place where you can directly request for closure of account.
So far you have to email the manager. So what happens if the manager doesn’t read the email or disappears? What happens if there is a delay? Bear in mind if you just paid your DD, you will then have to pay the next DD for the month’s notice.
My advice of this company that messes you around like this? Give your notice, don’t wait for any response and then CANCEL your DD. That way they cannot take you for another £30. If they refer this to the debt collectors just ignore the letters and let this company learn the value of customer service.
If I had not cancelled my DD there is no doubt this gym would continue to bill me and generate as much revenue as they can unethically and most certainly not refund me. This company baffles me how they allow a doormat account that has not been used of over six months, not paid anything since that date, and allow the membership to continue and do nothing about it? Absolutely poor responsibility with management.
A gym that is old fashioned, outdated and not 24 hours, needs an openness to change their CS compared to other modern gyms. Very poor.
I joined Everlast because of the pool and only £30 per month …
I joined Everlast because of the swimming pool and £30 per month is good value.
The only complaints I have are the cleanliness off the showers/changing rooms which are very poor,if you want to just swim you are limited and have to be aware of the times to avoid,Aqua Zumba,Puddle Ducks,Child Swim time and because there is no Jacuzzi the boys from the gym just sit in the pool for a chat!
But other than that, I find the staff helpful and it suits me.
Freezing and cancellation of membership…
I froze my membership by asking the man in counter during the last week of Feb25 for March and April 25. The person pulled up my account and said thats been done for you.Now i checked my account and it was charged in full.I contacted the Gloucrster gym and an email was sent to me saying they dont do freeze on counter only on email and via app. i rushed to the gloucester gym and asked if i could speak to the manager.she said he was on holiday' but a moment later he appeared and asked the issue. She also said that i am in debit for £60 pound. When i checked my bank account showing all transactions in time then she said oh no.
My issue was not resolved and in reaction i wanted to cancel my membership but they said you need a month notice.i again tried my gym app to give a month notice but it says you cant .i sent all these to the gloucester gym but no cooperation.
Everlast - Gloucester
In looking for a new Gym I have visited all in my local area that met my requirements of a pool, hot (Sauna and/or Steam), Exercise Classes - particularly spinning and Gym and easy (free) parking. I was most impressed with the reception I received at this facility. A couple met my requirements but the attention of Courtney (new trainer at the club) and Tom (manager?) ensured that I was shown all aspects of the club and made to feel that I would be made both welcome and valued. I will be joining, hopefully next week.
Good gym with decent facilities
Good gym with decent facilities. Pool is very busy and the jacuzzi does not work. Steam room smells occasionally but otherwise good. Ladies showers and changing area is clean and loads of parking a available for up to 3 hours
Heating
I attend swimming lessons with my 2year old and the pool isn’t not always the warmest and then when we get out it’s freezing in the changing room. My child is literally shaking in the pool and then when we get out with still a towel around her.
The floor is always covered in hair. When mentioning this to staff they said the vents are getting cleaned out!! Surly this should have been done before winter!! 2 degrees and no heating on in the changing room!! The lessons it self are really good and swimming staff are very friendly and enjoy it. It’s just getting out it’s very pleasant.
Everlast needs auditing/ better staff/new management!
The gym is an absolute dump… where do I start?
. Hygiene of the place is worst I have ever experienced!
.Staff are arrogant and insecure, care more about their client than the day to day runnings of the gym or members of the gym!
. Training sessions are often interrupted by PT setting up classes.
. No air con, uneven floor surface, poorly maintained equipments.
.staff needs training on how to separate their professional and personal life!
Quality gym
Easy free parking. Friendly staff, great facilities and the best spin class ever by Tom P.
by far the worst gym I've ever been to
by far the worst gym I've ever been to. got to be the worst in Gloucester too.
No aircon for about 3/4 years constantly 40+degrees inside. Unbearable if you want to have a good session. Soaked with sweat by the time you've warmed up.
Wont listen to any complaints. At one point they went a year without a water fountain!!!
Id plead with anyone to avoid.
Perfect gym and friendly staff
The best gym I’ve ever been❤️❤️I have…
The best gym I’ve ever been❤️❤️I have tried loads of gym but Everlast gym in Gloucester the best.Friendly staff and amazing atmosphere.
Instructors are amazing
Decent pool but...
Decent pool, but so many other user demands (classes and children's lessons) that it is increasingly difficult to find a space for a swim.
Recently bullied out of a lane by someone who considered themselves to be a stronger, faster swimmer than me. She insisted I had no right to be in a lane, even though I was completing a distance swim, because I was slower than her. I have literally been placed on the bottom of the pool by similar members who simply swim over you in their rush to prove a point.
This type of elitist, ageist behaviour is clearly discriminatory against the less able and is unfortunately not challenged by gym staff when reported.
The jacuzzis have been out of action for years, with the steam room recently closed for remedial work.
Fit for purpose, a very nice gym
This is a well run and friendly gym. Equipment in good condition, pleasant floor area. Spacious changing room with hot showers. A nice pool at exactly the right temperature and an excellent large steam room. A great place to train, exercise and relax. I really enjoy my sessions there
Absolutely awful experience
Absolutely awful experience. I paid for a 1 month membership but due to the greedy capitalist policy of roping me in to paying two months as they need a “1 month cancellation period” I made my peace with that . The man at the desk said I was only paying for the two months but then Ive noticed they haven’t cancelled my membership and did not make it clear to me I needed to cancel myself as I thought I explicitly said at the desk I only wanted a 1 month membership. So as a student Ive lost another £40 for an overpriced gym when I made it clear I won’t be able to use it due to change in location. Save your money and go to any other gym because Everlast are major rip off merchants.
