Stuart arranged delivery of a full set of skiing kit within a couple of days prior to my trip. The kit was really high quality, clean and well-maintained. I had some minor issues with damages but the cost of repairs was fairly reasonable (£80 + £25 to keep the goggles I rented). With the damages, it was fairly expensive (~£290 in total for a week) but there was no way I'd have been able to have the same quality of kit for that price, if I was buying stuff. Would recommend, particularly if you don't think you'll use the skiing kit again and want a no-hassle experience (and especially if you're arranging at short notice!)

I hired walking boots (suitable for crampons), down jackets and waterproof rain jackets & trousers.
All the kit was in great condition (one pair of trousers was brand new - still in the wrapper) and totally fit for purpose - we used the kit for a Winter summit up Ben Nevis.
Stuart was super friendly and very helpful in offering advice on what kit to hire.
I highly recommend this hire Company - I’ll be booking with them again for sure.

I hired kit to climb Mera Peak, Island Peak and Lobuche. Everything I received was high standard gear and well maintained, I had great comm’s from Stuart, and the delivery/returns set up was easy & effective. I would recommend them and happily use them again.

I can't praise Stuart, at Expedition Kit Hire, highly enough.
I was thinking about buying kit and then thought I would investigate hiring so I wouldn't have storage issues afterwards. I was nervous as I haven't hired before but my experience was overwhelmingly positive. The kit was great quality, clean and totally appropriate, whereas had I bought I may have got incorrect items.
I would recommend contacting Stuart before you buy anything. The service and delivery are excellent.

Cannot rate this company more highly if i tried. Stuart was very quick to respond to all my emails and was more than happy for us to visit his warehouse and try on a few items before our trip.

We hired two sleeping bags, two down jackets, two waterproof trousers and a waterproof jacket for Kilimanjaro. All items were in great condition and we didn't feel the cold once.

Would highly recommend and will 100% re-use them in future.

This company was absolutely brilliant. We had never been to a cold country before (Finland in December). Via email Stuart was helpful in guiding us. Kit arrived nine days before we left. The kit was superb and we were never cold. Our deposit refund was less than a week after clothes return. Brilliant company! I will happily use again!

I can’t fault the service we received from Expedition kit hire. It was excellent in every regard. Email queries were answered promptly, the clothing and kit arrived ahead of schedule allowing us to check the fit before departing on our trip and was of excellent quality. We tested it out in minus 27 degrees and were both warm enough to be standing outside watching the Northern Lights in comfort. Returning the gear couldn’t have been simpler either with a prepaid postage label included in the parcel. Thank you, we will definitely use you again.

I came across Expedition Kit Hire with a Google Search. My first trip to the Artic Circle for 4 nights, and didn't have a clue what to wear.

Stuart sorted everything really quickly. A big box containing everything we needed was delivered with ample time to try on clothing and send back anything which didn't fit (it all did - we didn't need to). And even a couple of days before Christmas Stuart was able to help when we needed to add an item at the last minute - which was delivered in time for our holiday.

When we returned, we simply boxed up all the clothing and returned it. Getting our deposit returned was really quick - and Stuart was a pleasure to deal with, at all times.

Found Stuart "by accident" on line and glad i did! I was off to Elbrus and did not fancy shelling out a small fortune for a pair of boots I was likely to wear once!
After a quick email discussion he sent me out a pair of Spantiks and a Pair of La Sportiva G5 (Brand new) for a size test. Whilst I was hoping the brand spanking new G5s would be the ideal the size and comfort of the Spantiks could not be ignored. Stuart put deposit back in day of receiving boots back after trial.

As promised the spatniks arrived days before my travels and thankfully the exact same boot! 5 Days and no blisters on Elbrus - what more could I ask for?

Stuart shipped me the return label too so all I had to was put back in the box and tape up and ship back via my local collect +

Excellent service again. This is the second time I have used Stuart and his company for kit and wasn’t disappointed. A brand new(with tags) Tundra sleeping bag and a liner arrived and I am so please I took his advice as this bag was certainly what I needed for trekking to Everest Base Camp in February. Night time temps were -13 and I was cosy, cosy and cosy! Would recommend Expedition Kit Hire to anyone. Good advice, good prices, good kit and not least good service.

I left getting my kit for Mt Toubkal in Morocco to the last minute and was stuck between wether it was possible to go or not.

I found Stuart online and gave him a list with what I needed (on a Sunday, 5 days before I was leaving). He quickly came back and said it was possible to get the full kit that I needed to me, and even suggested I get different boots more appropriate for the trip.

The package arrived with time for me to check it was all ok.

The kit was amazing and did exactly what it needed to, good quality and durable for the tough snowy/ rocky terrain.

We hired a 2-man expedition tent for a trip over Christmas. Stuart helped us choose the correct tent and advised on any extra equipment we needed, providing double poles and snow stakes free of charge. The tent was in excellent condition and arrived in plenty of time. The returns process was simple (Stuart provided a label to be printed a couple of days prior to the end of the trip). The pricing was transparent and fair throughout, we lost a tent peg and had a modest 2.90 deducted from our deposit. I would highly recommend Expedition Kit Hire to anyone.

Honest and personable company run by an affable proprietor who is approachable, prompt and a straight shooter. Knowledgeable and fair. Makes me wonder why we even considered buying a 500 quid sleeping bag each —very seriously)—for only a week’s use on Killimanjaro. For a tenth of the cost we can rent their high quality kit and come out far ahead. I wish I hadn’t already bought some gear already as I could have instead rented other items from them as well. Can’t recommend this company enough!! Thanks Stuart!

Wow factor customer service! To my dismay and my own fault, the sizes I ordered didn't fit. Thankfully the kit arrived in time for replacement sizes to be sent for my trip to Lapland. Stuart responded within hours of my panicked email on Saturday and shipped out the new items (with multiple options just in case) at no charge on Monday. Seriously my trip would have been ruined had it not been for Stuart's kindness and willingness to help. I would highly recommend Expedition kit Hire to anyone!

I did the Three Peaks Challenge last weekend and the end of one of the rented poles dropped off on the way up the first peak. Aside from not being able to use the poles for the rest of the challenge, £60 was taken from my deposit. Would not use again.

This is an amazing service, I hired top quality kit for my climb up mount kilimanjaro which saved me lots of money as I am unlikely to need the kit again. All of the kit (sleeping bags, coats, gloves etc) was clean and in excellent condition. Stuart was really helpful, providing different options and costings, delivery was ahead of schedule and return was simple, stick the label on the box seal and off it goes! Hire from here if you get the service i did you won't regret it.
