Been visiting EyEye since 2020 (yes I…

Been visiting EyEye since 2020 (yes I had my eye test week before lockdown and Karl then delivered my glasses to my house by bike). Karl and his staff have always been very friendly and know what they are doing.
I’ve recently had my 2 year eye test and picked 2 pair of glasses. Wanted a pair with verifocal yellow lenses but turned dark in the sun. I didn’t know if such thing could be done but I had Joshua on the case who was determined to get an answer. After a few weeks of tooing and froing with emails to the lab, they confirmed they could do them. Looking forward to receiving them in the next few weeks!
My Eco glasses I have are great (have clip on lenses that are polarised) - so convenient if you are sensitive to light!

Worst experience I have ever had

I picked eyeeye Sheffield based on the reviews after having two awful experiences with my glasses being wonky and spraining from previous opticians (fully explained to the assistant and the optometrist) booked an appointment fairly quickly but this should’ve been a red flag. Had my eye test which I thought was thorough at the time, picked out two glasses with ease and even wanted a third pair. They were meant to email me about the third pair 48 hours after my appointment but thank god they didn’t. At the time my astigmatism was very recognised and it would be fine for the frames chosen. (I’ve had astigmatism all my life and never face any problems with it) Two weeks go by and they are ready for collection, I was so excited. Put one pair on and they were blurry, tried the other pair on and it was the same. They took my old glasses to check whatever and then we discussed why. Something to do with my astigmatism and angle or something. At this point the plan was for them to talk to the optometrist and manger the following week. It was then when I was asked to wear them for 4-7 days so my brain adjusts and I will be able too se out of them once this has happened. My response was I wouldn’t be able to drive, work etc. I was then made to feel an absolute liar when I said I couldn’t not wear glasses too see (I am blind without them) then he said well I suppose you have got a higher prescription. He was quite happy to send me away with my blurry vision until I got used to it. An absolute joke, never mind for health and safety reasons. At this point I was so disappointed and livid as this service was different when I was spending my money. I agree to have the manager call me on Monday for a solution but remembering she was meant to call me about the third pair and didn’t so I went back in and decided to have a refund. If the assistant hadn’t made me feel like a liar about MY OWN eye sight then I wouldn’t probably try and get the issues rectified. Now I’ve got to start all over again at hopefully not a dodgy opticians. So just be careful and don’t waste your hard earned money

Such friendly and helpful people

Such friendly and helpful people. They undertook an emergency repair on glasses I had bought elsewhere with very good grace. While that was going on, I had a look at the range of frames, and enjoyed the atmosphere of an independent optician. Highly recommended.

Eyeye were a joy

Eyeye were a joy to purchase new prescription glasses from. They only stock lovely ethically sourced frames and they are an independent small business. I highly recommend them.

Late thanks, but Trustpilot hadn't alerted us that we had a profile and it was all wrong information - cheers, The Eyeye Team
