Good location for Winnipeg, but for the price I expected a bit more. Room was comfortable enough and staff were polite, just nothing really stood out. Fine for a short stay, but not great value.

Can't believe how rude the duty manager…

Can't believe how rude the duty manager has been tonight.
We have a problem with our room. She would not listen and talked over us the whole time!
2 nights here, first night i am extremely annoyed and angry! 1st night ruined! Will not be back!
Wish I had read the other reviews before booking!

Edit to original review.
Mr Sebastian Brincat has been in touch with apologies and solutions.
A lovely man and a true manager!
Thank you Sebastian.

You ruined my wedding

You overbooked my room and took no responsibility. I booked a King Suite at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver but was downgraded to a Junior Deluxe and told they were the same. They’re not. When I raised the issue, I was simply told nothing else was available.

This was for getting ready on my wedding day, and I was left scrambling at the last minute to find another hotel the day before. The hotel offered zero help; no alternative room and no effort to rebook me elsewhere. For a hotel of this calibre, that level of service is shocking.

To make matters worse, when we walked into Junior Deluxe, the space felt outdated and mismatched, and even the corridor leading to the room set a disappointing tone. It was a stark contrast to the photos online, and honestly quite shocking to walk into.

Overall, an extremely poor experience with virtually nonexistent customer service. I feel compelled to warn others so they don’t face the same situation I did especially if you plan for a special event. Do NOT count on these guys.

Unacceptable Hygiene & Pest Issue – Extremely Disappointing Experience

I stayed at Fairmont Mumbai to celebrate my 15th wedding anniversary and the experience was completely unacceptable for a brand under Accor.

While the day passed with minor issues like slow room service and noticeable dust particles in the air, the situation at night was alarming. The room was full of mosquitoes that were continuously buzzing around our ears, making it impossible to sleep. My children and we were bitten repeatedly throughout the night. By morning, there were visible blood stains on the bedsheets from the mosquito bites. None of us slept, and we woke up with itching and discomfort all over.

Upon complaining at reception, I was offered a late checkout and informed that an investigation would be conducted, but I was told no mosquitoes were found. However, when I personally checked the room to demonstrate the issue, I found silverfish near the headboard. Additionally, under the bed blanket there was a significant accumulation of dust and hair, as if the area had not been cleaned properly for days.

This is not a minor inconvenience — this is a serious hygiene and pest control failure. It is deeply concerning that such conditions exist at a premium property charging approximately ₹20,000 per night.

As a resolution, I was told that on a future booking (if I pay again for a base category room), I would be given a suite upgrade. This is not an acceptable form of compensation. After paying in full and experiencing such discomfort on a milestone anniversary stay, expecting me to spend again for an upgrade offer is unreasonable. A complimentary stay would have been a more appropriate and accountable response.

This experience fell far below the standards associated with the Fairmont and Accor brand.

An extraordinary experience at Fairmont Mayakoba

The most extraordinary experience I've had in the last 10 years was in the Riviera Maya, staying with my husband at the Fairmont Mayakoba hotel. The scenery, the service, the attention to detail, the cuisine, and the collaboration made with Le Labo (cherry on top), made the memory unforgettable. I would always go back and highly recommend it. My best friend also visited it with her wife and agrees with me that it's a truly special place.

TitleDisappointed by Service Lapses at a Premium Property

Title: Disappointed by Service Lapses at a Premium Property
Rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2 out of 5)
Date of Stay: Oct 29 – Nov 1, 2025
Location: Fairmont Royal York, Toronto

Stayed for a 4-day conference expecting excellence from a landmark hotel. While the location and in-room coffee were superb, several service lapses marred the experience.

- Dirty Pillow on Arrival: Found a pillow with brownish stains resembling shoe marks. Reported it; bedding was replaced, but no apology or acknowledgment.
- Housekeeping Delay: Returned at 2 PM for a confidential meeting—room hadn’t been cleaned despite prior request. Had to locate staff myself.
- Departure Disruption: Despite a “Do Not Disturb” sign, was interrupted at noon on checkout day with a knock asking if I was leaving.
- Valet Concerns: $75/day valet totaled $225. No car wash offered. About $8 in coins left in the vehicle vanished, leaving only quarters.

Positives: Prime location and excellent in-room coffee.

Final Thoughts: Not the Fairmont standard I expected. Improvements in consistency, communication, and guest care are needed. Bidets would be a welcome upgrade. I won’t return unless changes are made.

Not Worth It at Half the Price

I emailed the hotel the day before to confirm booking but never got a reply. They charge a resort fee of $25 per day, plus tax on top of that.

The hotel is pleasant and all the staff very welcoming, but our room, though spacious enough, had no electrical or USB outlet on one side of bed, slow wifi, scratchy towels, the bathroom sink faucet was not secure, there were only two sugars and two creamers for six coffee pods, and it was essentially void of decor.

The rooms well soundproofed, but aside from good coffee from the Nespresso machine, most any hotel at half the price would do just as well.

Vehicle Damaged in Valet Custody – No Accountability from Fairmont or Indigo

I entrusted my car to Indigo valet at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth in Montreal. Less than 24 hours later, when I retrieved it, the tire pressure alarm went off before I even exited the garage. The tire was rapidly losing air, and Fairmont staff on-site saw what appeared to be a deep slash in the sidewall.

Canadian Tire later confirmed there was no nail or debris - only damage consistent with a cut. Despite this evidence, Indigo denied responsibility, claiming the car was in “perfect condition” leaving the garage, which is simply untrue. Fairmont management initially promised to be involved in the investigation but ultimately sided with Indigo and offered nothing beyond “sympathy.”

We spent thousands of dollars at Fairmont Tremblant and Fairmont Queen Elizabeth on what was our first trip to Canada. Unfortunately, the way this incident was handled overshadowed our experience. Guests should know that if their vehicle is damaged while under Fairmont’s valet, there appears to be no accountability.

The view is the only thing good so far!

We arrived at 11:30am at Fairmont Lake Louise Canada. Greeted by Ramon who said they would have our room ready as soon as possible. We sat in the guest living room on the 3rd for an hour until we couldn't stand the heat and muggy room. We then waited outside where there was no shade except for a couple of trees. No chairs and sat on concrete wall for 2.5 hours until our room was finally ready at 3pm. For calling themselves a luxury hotel, it was anything but. Really poor start!!

£35 pizza for Lunch at the Fairmont :O

We stayed at the Fairmont in Dubai at the Palm (Nikeel Area). The are has scaled so much since 2023 where the beach side was almost empty and now the area is buzzing of new restaurants, clubs and other amenities. The cleanliness was okay at the hotel. But the breakfast and dinners were excellent qulaity, the chefs are extremely good there. I would say the food was better than the Atlantis at the Palm. The staff at the breakfast and dinner were slower than expected comparing to our visit 2 years ago. We ordered a pizza at lunchtime one of the days and no where mentioned the prices of this. An 8 slice margarita came to £35, if I had known the price I would never have ordered this especially the poor quality that it was.

Fairmont Ajman Amazing if they fix the soft drinks issue

Fairmont Ajman.

The best, most amazing hotel in Ajman. One little flaw...

This hotel is stunning. The service was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. Fab!

Our deluxe room was fantastic. Ocean view, spacious, freestanding bath and walk-in shower! We had an issue with the AC and had to change rooms which was a bit of a nuisance but it was handled seamlessly, speedily and hassle free. The room was cleaned every day and stocked with bottles of water. We got a gorgeous cake for my husbands birthday which was a lovely touch!

The staff cannot do enough for you here. The restaurant staff are lovely and genuine and take the time to chat and get to know you. Rachel and Elizabeth were the best!! The food was lovely, good variety and even lobster! I'm not one for seafood but it seemed to be a hit.

The guys at the front of house were so lovely, chatty, helpful and so genuine. Reception couldn't do enough for us with speedy responses. We didn't have to wait for anything!

The pool and beach are great! The pool didn't get the sun in the morning but only until about 10am. The beds on the pool and beach are so cosy, lovely large towels, 4 of them! Our beds were ready for us every morning, facing the sun, brolly down.. just how we liked it, by the amazing Akash! He absolutely made our holiday and deserves recognition!! Thank you Akash.

The pool staff and lifeguards were fab, very attentive. I seen a couple of instances of bad parenting that could have gone very wrong so I was glad the guards were on the ball!

Now the one negative... I loved the pool bar. All staff were great, speedy service! We went All inclusive so all good but if you wanted soft drinks, Pepsi, 7up, fruit juices etc at the pool bar, they were served room temperature (94 degrees), they were just standing out on the bar all day. However, if you were paying for your drinks as you go, then you got cold drinks from the fridge! This astounded me as we are all paying guests and deserve cold drinks! The water and beer were cold but I was shocked at the soft drinks and mixer service. Blatant discrimination to AI guests. This is not right or fair. We came back from Abu Dhabi so hot and tired and we got in the pool and wanted a nice cold drink, I was served roasting hot Fanta Orange!! Even with ice, it was awful. When I questioned it and asked for a cold one, I was told ONLY the paying guests got cold! So we were served from bottles and cartons that are standing on the counter all day in the blistering heat!! These were also used in the cocktails so not the best. This is easily fixed and I don't see how a 5* hotel is getting away with it! Ruined the days a bit for me, hence my lower score. I know it may seem petty to some but it was a bit shocking and unnecessary. If the hotel fixed this, it would be perfect.

The hotel is on the beach in a great spot. Its immaculate and I loved my stay. Ajman is the best. I liked it more than Dubai. It's more calming and way cheaper than Dubai and it has a lovely, relaxing feel to it.

I'll definitely return to Ajman and to this hotel (if they sort the soft drinks issue... put them in the fridge!).

AVOID AT ALL COSTS ST ANDREWS FAIRMONT

Avoid at all costs, after booking our stay for our engagement weekend, I cannot say everything went to plan at this hotel.

The customer service shown by the assistant front office manager Coleen and General manager Kai Winkler has been appalling at best. After my partner taking unwell during the stay with us having to cut the stay with hotel short, I am yet to receive a partial refund for the unused night with now my email communications to both Coleen and Kai going unanswered. The third party booking site has also confirmed to myself that the Fairmont staff have now stopped responding to their chase enquiry’s also. For the amount of expense outlaid for this stay you are better off elsewhere within the St Andrews area. Late room check in, having to chase staff for pre planned surprises for my fiancée to be and miscommunication on the staff tried to charge myself twice for the stay.

Shame on your staff for ruining what was supposed to be a special weekend and continuing to cause stress even afterward of the stay.

Fairmont St Andrews

Fairmont St Andrews

Booked an afternoon tea for three at The Fairmont and the service was awful. By the time our sandwiches arrived the tea was cold and the sandwiches were stale it seemed as if they had been sitting out all day. Took another 40 minutes before anyone even decided to bring our next course but by then we decided we did not want to continue. The Manager was very apologetic and asked me to email a complaint to the Hotel, which I did. I got a reply to say someone would be in touch within 72 hours and I am still waiting. I did not want to review negatively on here and was willing to wait on a response from the Hotel. I could not recommend this afternoon to anyone.

Fairmont Monte Carlo is brilliant!

Just had the worst thing happen with the sudden passing of a family member, can't tell how wonderful Fairmont Monte Carlo have been. Our family are so grateful for the understanding and kindness shown. Special praise for Magalie who sorted it all so efficiently for us.
