Kerry's classes are so informative

Kerry's classes are so informative. She gives you advice on how to adapt things for your particular dog. We have picked up some really useful tips. I like that you also get a full hour of training with your dog. The classes keep my dog's brain active and he's always tired at the end of them. I like the fact that Kerry keeps posting videos of what her dog can do - it's something I can aspire to with my dog. And who'd want a dog trainer who can't even teach their own dog? I would thoroughly recommend The Fairydogmother.

Fairydogmother, the best in dog grooming

Fairydogmother is the most amazing dog groomer I have ever come across. Since I’ve have had my dog I didn’t know about Fairydogmother unfortunately and took her to one who cut her badly round her genital area. So she was reluctant to go back and I agreed with her. Second groomer grabbed her by her neck and picked her up roughly. Immediately cancelled the visit. Took my dog to Fairydogmother, what a revelation to how dogs should be treated. She was trembling when we took her. She was gently picked up ( she’s a Yorkie) and gently stroked, the fairy spoke to her quietly and reassured her. We were happy to leave her with the fairies. We were apprehensive when we picked her up, but there was no need, she came out tail wagging. She was cut and trimmed to perfection, and smelling delicious. If I could give more than 5 star I would. Although the date was her last groom, she has been going since 2019. So thank you to Kara and all her fairies. They really do love every dog, cat or rabbit that comes through the door. I wouldn’t be without them. Thank you all

Kerry The Fairydogmother is an…

Kerry The Fairydogmother is an excellent dog trainer and lives up to her name. She has really helped me with understanding how to train our Golden Retriever puppy in the best way. Applying her wisdom has made a huge difference to how I go about things. I have learned heaps. Kerry knows her stuff and has a great manner too. I'd recommend her highly to anyone who wants a well-trained dog but needs support to get there.

Had the best experience with Kerry

Had the best experience with Kerry. She really focused on what was right for Walter. She listened to our concerns were and what we wanted to get out of the sessions. Walter is walking so much better on a lead in just a few short weeks. She also showed us how to distract him if he became reactive to other dogs. Kerry is totally animal focused and Walter adored her! Cannot recommend enough

Genuinely Life Changing.

I cannot stress enough how much working with Kerry has benefitted both my partner and I but, more importantly, our Dachshund. Chilli is our first dog, and despite thinking we were prepared, on reflection we definitely weren't! Chilli was very reactive with both dogs and people and just taking him for a walk around the block was an ordeal and something to dread rather than enjoy. My partner contacted Kerry having heard via word of mouth how great she was and so, a little worn out and very desperate, we decided to give it a go.

Kerry was instantly communicative, compassionate and empathetic, very patient with Chilli and ourselves and made us feel optimistic and hopeful, rather than bad dog owners or useless trainers. Within the first couple of months of the first session, Chilli was genuinely a different dog. Far less reactive on his walks and very engaged and obedient with his new training techniques. Kerry sends across a very thorough and in depth digital package to work alongside your real-world situations and this is incredibly useful to refer to and learn from when things get tough. By the time we attended the second session (we haven't even attended the third yet!) Chilli had done a train journey, been to the pub with us, said hello to dozens of dogs and stayed overnight in a home with people he didn't know, all of which would have been impossible before meeting Kerry.

If you're willing to put in the work and stick with it when the going gets tough, I really cannot recommend Kerry and her training highly enough. You know some people are born to do something? Kerry was definitely born to work with dogs. A lovely, down to earth woman who I can't thank enough and look forward to our third session with and seeing even further progress with Chilli ☺️

Hi Ben, thank you, it made my day to see you last week, Chilli was a different dog, he strolled past everyone with a happy confidence that made my heart sing.

You have had the patience and commitment to do this for him and given Chilli your time and thats what makes the difference.
I give people knowledge, practical skills and support, but its what someone does with it that matters - and you two have been committed from the start to give it your all. You made this happen for Chilli, I am so looking forward to seeing you next time.

I am so thankful we came across Kerry...

Kerry has helped us so much already with training our Dachshund, Chilli. We haven't finished our course yet and we can already see great results, Kerry has given us clear, helpful advice which is helping Chilli to become a much more focused and confident dog.
Chilli was reactive with both people and dogs, yet Kerry is the first person outside of our household that Chilli has warmed to and he has no problems being near her and listening to her.
I couldn't be happier with the service she is providing, she always gives us valuable advice to take away and homework to do to keep progressing inbetween sessions, which have helped us continuously and I am so thankful we came across Kerry to help us when poor Chilli sometimes seemed like a lost cause.
Thank you so much Kerry!

Hi Abbie, Chilli is such a little sweetheart, I am so proud of what you have both achieved with him since I last saw you. You did this for him, you helped him rebuild his confidence day by day and made him so much happier in situations that scared him. I just guide you along the way, it is your dedication that has made this happen.
I can't wait to see you all again, keep up the great work xx

Unhelpful and expensive training

Contacted Kerry about a specific issue with my young Labrador. Explained at length difficulties due to my disability. Felt really hopeful when she reassured me that she could help. Paid £300 for 4 individual sessions. At the end of which she informed me she was not a miracle worker and that my dog should not be off the lead until she changed ( I thought that was what we were attending for). Of the 4 sessions Kerry was late for all but 1 and had to spend at least 10 minutes reading up her notes about who we were. I think Kerry's dog training is probably more useful for general behaviour issues. It would be helpful also if she did not constantly tell you about how well behaved her dog is compared to yours.

I am saddened to read of your disappointment of Bella's progress which has been steady and measurable throughout our 4 sessions.

I have never, ever said the words "I am not a miracle worker" to anybody, that is completely and utterly untrue. Some dogs can more challenging than others for their owners due to breed, age etc but all dogs can make improvements with consistent practice.

Your son has worked really hard with Bella to reach your goals which unfortunately you were unable to see for yourself as you did not participate during our training sessions. Bella was hugely improved by the last session, she still needed more work in some areas but she was well on her way to being reliable off lead, thanks to the hard work and dedication of your son who did all of her training.

With consistency from both your son and yourself, when you can manage it, I am confident Bella will have consistently good recall and gave my own dog as an example of that. But until that time I would stand by my recommendation to keep her on a long training lead in some situations; for not only her own safety but so as not to set other younger dogs back in their development and socialisation skills. Twice you arrived and told me you had gone against my advice and decided to let her off; which resulted in Bella "chasing a terrified, screaming puppy around a field" and you were unable to get her back. That could have caused serious trauma to a puppy.

Unfortunately you mistakenly booked the wrong venue which caused me to be a few minutes late on one occasion and severe frost caused me to be 10 minutes late on the other occasion for which I did apologise.

I do keep notes but they are not to remind me who you are, they are to monitor and measure the progress made both during and in-between sessions and it would be remiss of me not to do so.

Bella is a lovely dog and it was a pleasure to work with her and your son and I hope he continues his hard work to achieve your goals.

All dogs are different and can't be trained with the just one overriding approach

Although 6 lessons were paid for in advance, unfortunately, I only took 4 of them as after 4 months of training with Kerry (including countless hours training at home/on walks etc), there had been no improvement to the 3 primary behavioural needs (lead walking, lead reactivity & eating habits), also to my disappointment, Kerry was NOT willing to offer a refund for the remaining 2 lessons not taken, which I feel is unreasonable (having since spoken to other dog trainers, other trainers do offer a refund for lessons not taken as they appreciate that dogs won't always gel with every dog trainer's methods).
After discussions with Kerry following the 4 months of training, I feel confident that all of Kerry's advice was taken on board and put into practice, however, I learnt that all dogs are different and can't be trained with the just one overriding approach, especially when the dog isn't food driven, nor overly interest in playing with toys when there's other distractions outside the house.
I have since gone to another dog trainer using different training methods and there has been significant improvement after 6 weeks and he is still the happy go lucky dog I adopted 10 months ago.

Incredible trainer with a great understanding of both dogs and people

When I first spoke to Kerry we had a 13 week old Springer puppy who was driving us nuts. He was our first dog and despite the prep we had done, nothing seemed to be sinking in. After a first conversation we knew we needed Kerry on board, and we decided to go for the puppy home and social package. After the first session it was obvious that it was us that needed the training rather than the puppy, and we put everything that Kerry suggested into practice.

The difference was immediate, he was like a different dog completely even after just the first home visit. The puppy classes were so well delivered, tailored to each of us who were there. Thanks to Kerry we were comfortable taking the puppy off lead months before we would have naturally, because she provided a safe space for us to practice with him.

I’ve never met someone who understands so clearly what is going off in a dogs head, and I doubt I ever will again. Everything she has suggested has worked, and we now have a six month old pup who is amazing with children, growing in confidence around dogs, and is such a pleasure when we take him to places like pubs and other people’s houses. Everyone we meet comments on how well behaved he is for such a young dog, and this was so unimaginable when we first brought him home. I can honestly say we might have been in a position where we had to find him another home before we started working with Kerry. We were so nervous about making the wrong decisions, and Kerry has been such a source of support and reassurance that we now can’t imagine life without our puppy.

I’ll never be able to fully thank Kerry for the time, dedication and patience she showed, not only to our puppy but to two new owners with so much to learn. To anyone struggling with their dog, I give Kerry the highest recommendation, I really dread to think where we’d be without her.

Hi Leonie, huge apologies I have only just seen this! I had completely forgotten I was on Trust Pilot :-D

Jules was a joy to train, totally adorable and you were both so dedicated and listened and did everything I asked you to do.

Great Service!!

Donna has looked after Wolfie a few times now and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her. She clearly loves her job and is always very conscientious and accommodating with us in terms of what Wolfie needs at that time, everything from a quick walk to full-board. He's always very happy to see Donna and leaves us quite happily. As every dog owner knows, you can trust their judgement!
