Complaint to Fife Council dated 8/12/25…

Complaint to Fife Council dated 8/12/25 (after reporting informally by email initially and a Lead informing me she would liaise with colleagues). Still and video evidence supplied. Complaint unacknowledged and unanswered despite their 5 day and 20 day pledges. This is a repeat behaviour - Misuse of a Disabled Bay - being reported by tradespeople of a BB holder/household. FC upheld this misbehaviour in June 2025 and informed me they were "confident it would not happen again". Wrong... It re-occurred in October 2025. The complaint has now gone to The Ombudsman along with a letter explaining that, even writing to the Chief Executive of Fife Council, the complaint was never acknowledged or answered.
FOI responses have simply raised further issues.
Fife Council have to be one of the poorest performing Councils in Scotland - and communication is certainly not one of their skills. Neither is honesty, in my opinion.

Sunday Times, July 2024. "Fife Council has been ranked the second poorest performing of 29 Scottish local authorities, according to new analysis published by the Sunday Times. The rankings used 11 indicators from five key categories - education, health, community, policing and finance". One step too generous methinks.

Get rid of bots and AI

On trying to book a bulky uplift service today I was told there were no bookings available at all. I got my neighbour whose postcode is slightly different to try and book it and was given a collection date for the next day. The collection point is exactly the same. I contacted Fife Council and their bot ‘Fiona’ has not been programmed to understand a thing and is unfit for purpose despite costing ratepayers a fortune. It’s time to stop AI and bots and start providing customer service

They dont do nothing anymore

They dont do nothing anymore, the pavement and roads are all pot holes, their is not enough bins so people just drop it on the ground, the amount of dog mess is getting out off control, people who have hedges never trim them back so your either falling into them or falling on the road which happened to me. My dog has to be pulled away ss she doesnt need another eye ulcer from last weeds, in council car park he scratched her eye and it took 4months and £1480 and when i asked to have the bill paid i just got laughed at, so i had to borrow the money, MILTON ROAD KIRKCALDY has bushes trees and weeds all hanging over, you are suppost to be space for 2people to walk together on pavement, now its 1 person and the 2nd person is forced to use the road, i when to the door twice now and asked politley to trim hedge as it does break the bylaw rules, hedges are suppost to be level with your wall, i will keep going to the door and asking as its not fair, ive fallen twice cause of their mess, im also dissbled awell so took me ages to get back up and now ive got hospital for my knee, if you have a hedge please think of the people that have to squeeze past, all the school kids have to walk on road cause of it, total mess

Horrible people should not have such power

I am currently in Gowrie nursing home, paying £2100
a month+ my house is up for sale to pay. I have just been given an appointment for an ultrasound test at Victoria hospital. I was refused patient transport as I can walk, i use a wheelchair. I have to pay for a taxi to and back from the hospital. I am required to be accompanied by a carer due to my permanent disability and health bothers . I am also required to pay for my carers transport. Thank you Fife council for your sympathy and support!!!!

Need more GP surgeries and schools …

With the closure of old school buildings of Woodmill and St Colombia and the decision to build more homes and flats, has the council considered opening up more GP surgeries or primary schools??
Today I hear the old FIFE college site is put up for sale, are they going to be more houses without the essential services to cope with the increase in more houses being built.??

Fife Council are the best! They are highly skilled at avoiding emails and problem solving! Really adds to the experience!

Fife Council are the best! They keep you waiting and waiting for email replies which really adds to the suspense of dealing with them! I also love how they perform short term solutions to long term problems. For example, at my soon to be former property people were misusing the recycle bins. Some were even fly tipping everywhere. This is clearly not on and a supposedly responsible Council might set up CCTV or look at its social housing policy or consider better integration but not Fife Council! They just removed all the recycle bins. Genius reaction because now no one can recycle! That will show the environment!

Finally, I personally appreciate how if you email Fife Council and ask if there is a dept that might help you they just do not respond. But in reflection this is a *good call* because replying to emails wastes working hours and just like the music played in Kirkcaldy's iconic Mercat Shopping Centre I see no reason not to cosplay as if it is eternally 1992. Better times, really, with John Major as PM and The Shamen at number one with that banger of a song about illegal narcotics that upset grannies.

In closing, I also really adore Fife Council's complaint form. They ask you what your ideal response to a problem should be. This is such a broad question that it could, realistically, range from "send the scurrilious perpetrator to Mali to build a 45 foot statue in honour of Moussa Traoré and then have them explain the result to the furious locals" to "what about they just reply to messages from concerned tax paying locals?" But the catch is that if you answer with a "joke" they slam you for being offensive! It is such a good way to catch out us jokers, that complaint form. If I was a wiser man I would assume it was penned by Tommy Wiseau. "What a form, Mark!" (In all seriousness, you do need a sense of humour dealing with Fife Council because absolutely nothing will be done to help you, from my experience).

A grand old lot is Fife Council, always up for a laugh, and definitely seeking to keep our areas clean during a climate emergency that actually probably does not exist and is just made up by us silly liberals so fair play to them really.

the birth of humanity can start with fife council's misdeeds

It is sad for me to be writing this review, but I think it is important so that the people of Dunfermline and surrounding areas have to go and start knocking on the council’s door to do better. My brother moved to this town to help serve the vulnerable people of the town but sadly was faced with racism overt and covert. The council spends a lot of energy on giving fines and making money by charging vulnerable people and truly underserving them. It’s like we have a mini America running in a beautiful part of Scotland aka Fife Council. Take from the poor and give to the rich. No wonder the people of the town are confused, they think all the immigrants are taking what they are owed, someone needs to tell the people of the town that the council is not only taking from the poor and vulnerable who were born in the country but they are also taking and taking with even less empathy from black and brown people who have moved to the town to - once again I repeat - to serve the elderly, disabled, and the marginalised people whom the privileged people have abandoned.

The soul of the town is missing, maybe there once was one as it can be seen in the historical landmarks. The black, brown and minority communities are actually bringing you the hearts and soul to this town. Please accept that with an open heart, understanding and compassion. I hope that all the Fife council leaders, the decision makers and every person in a position of power who can change, to please do so for the sake of the town and its people. Get up and do something to change. But first you must help the poor people of the town so that they don’t feel like these innocent people have come and taken their houses, their jobs and what is owed to them.

My family and tried really hard to make it work in Dunfermline, unfortunately we all left because.. well.. I really hope that I am wrong but none the less, this town lost an amazing family who could have done so much for this town and its people.

you want houses built 100 percent but offer houses 90 percent fixed

i build and have built hundreds of council houses for immigrants and every tom dxxx and harry.. you want 100 percent perfection with your new builds or we dont get paid ??? no mess no damage everything perfect

our flats are being knocked down in dysart and for 2 year you have wanted us out?

now you finally offer us a house that we have been told you have no money to fix things or you flat out say council wont do that ??

whats even worse is you pay a glasgow mob double the money to come and rip out bathrooms kitchens and replace them they work 8 to 2 not even a 8 hour shift and you say to us you wont fix it or take anything away

how is that equal ? hows that fair when you want me to make a house 100 percent but can give us 95 back

3rd class citizen in our own country

where is this silly
