Findtutors is not secure as any scammer…

Findtutors is not secure as any scammer can contact you without a trail.
Was approached by a "student" Samuel from Findtutors. THis individual wanted to work via whatsap from number +63 910 289 7408
he wanted some translation work done but when sent the first translated docs he disappeared and never sent payment.
Just another timewaster. Never any serious work.
I am deleting my Findtutor account

Do NOT put an add with this company

Do NOT put an add with this company, do not even make an account. It is NOT free they’re a scam. They have been charging me £19 a month for the past 12 months without my knowledge or consent. My bank have confirmed it’s a scam and I am currently going through the claim back process with my bank. The charge will show up as “tusclases granollers” and after some googling it is actually something to do with find tutors. I didn’t even given them my bank details. If you look at the reviews on the Barcelona based company that comes up when googling “tusclases granollers” they are doing this to hundreds of people. Conveniently, they have no contact details of any kind any where. Straight up scam AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I have started using this app just now

I have started using this app just now, I think that it will be proved a good forum for me to get online tuitions as I am an online mathematics tutor. I have been watching their ads at LinkedIn, I think that this is a good platform for me.

Shocking service.

Shocking service.
The profile I clicked on to find a tutor for my daughter in a local area, did not exist!
I emailed them to ask why there was no reply. It took nearly a week to gain a response which, did not resolve the situation.
Then I received notifications from other tutors which, have had my message copied and pasted from my original communication to generate other leads with other tutors.
To top it all off. I even received an email in Spanish from one of their other tutor sites.

Can you really get paid from…

Can you really get paid from translations, retyping jobs on this site? I got couple of projects of these kind but I am still having doubts because all I know is that, this site is all about tutoring.

It's a SCAM

After only a short time interacting with this site, it seemed pretty user-friendly. However, when I got contacted by a person claiming to be Valeria from Smart Writers Services and offering me 2,000 Euros for a single "urgent" translation job lasting 2-4 days, I quickly realised it's a scam! Having looked at all the "positive reviews" here on Trustpilot, many of them also appear to be fake, in my opinion.

No way of contacting anyone to report…

No way of contacting anyone to report scammers. There's a big problem with it on your website yet not one place for reporting or blocking. This is a huge red flag for your website and I only gave 2 stars because the website is generally easy to use. Your lack of support and security is damning.

If anyone notices a Fabrizio Romano, report as spam. He is a scammer.

Fraudsters

Fraudsters. They advertise jobs that don't exist. Instead, you receive a link and are asked to register as a tutor. The job description, however, was “Translator in home office”. When asked, they even admit that this is how they operate. They admit that the jobs they offer do not exist but suggest that you consider applying as a tutor. Some colleagues of mine registered as tutors, but there is no support from the company and you are completely on your own.

It's a scam - Avoid

I completely agree with all the other 1-star reviews – Find Tutors is a scam (see Marcelo C.'s review, it says it all).
I paid a fee last year to have more exposure as a teacher, and now, 12 months later, they have taken another (higher) payment on the basis of "auto-renewal" I had never agreed upon. Fraudsters.

Avoid

Avoid. Not really optimised for searching what you need.

This site was recommended by a parent who is a teacher so that is I why I went with it as trustworthy, but I wish I had seen the reviews.

Here are the issues I found problematic

1. Search: My experience with it is that it was really hard to navigate, their algorithm just doesn't do what it's supposed to, filters are very poor. Example: if you search for in-person lesson it keeps coming up with tutors who do online only or are based in a different part of the country/ or a different country entirely. Then is keeps bombarding you with emails with the "tutors it thinks you will like" based on your search

2. Contacts tutors on your behalf: Once I found a tutor I considered and sent them a message on the platform -unbeknown to me the platform has copied that message, changed the recipients name and sent to 5-6 other tutors without my consent or knowing of. This freaked me out when I started getting responses from other tutors, to tell me that they are sorry but they don't do in person or that they are not based in UK. I wasn't in any way interested in those tutors, I did not even click on their profile so I don't know why the platform would message them without my consent.

3. Contacts you on whatsapp: out of nowhere I get a message on WhatsApp from "GoStudent" to ask me when would it good time to call me to discuss my needs. I blocked it. I want to browse the tutors and be able to choose based on their profiles.

4. Tutors don't seem t know how to navigate the platform either: unable to find a local tutor, I found one who happened to be based abroad and I was willing to try online lessons. This tutor had multiple outstanding reviews. We arranged a free online trial, however (for security concerns) the tutor was hesitant to provide me with their email to schedule an online meeting and said all payments and lessons have to go through the platform. However, there is no such option to schedule a lesson via the platform. I could not schedule an online call. I asked the tutor to schedule it and they were not able to do so either. I contacted customer services and they said the platform only connects tutor and student, it does not handle online lessons nor payment. The tutor then informed me it was their 1st time using the platform. I quit the platform then as I wonder how did that tutor get all these reviews if they never tutored someone through that platform.

Also I had to pay £19 to be able to to browse the platform, which I think is fine if it was providing you with DBS checked, real tutors. But I just found their filtering and sorting really poor and a massive waste of time for the money. Maybe their personal call service could be good, but this is not what I signed up for

Giving 2 stars because I did manage to find a local tutor in the end, I think it was more luck than anything but generally the platform needs a lot of work and I did not enjoy the experience, neither would I recommend it.

Not enough transparency

While I love that they send emails about new potential students, I cannot properly respond to these, because I am only on their basic plan. As a new teacher, not YET earning money, I can't afford 29.99 pounds a month to be "bumped up". Not on! Tell us is before we spend all the time and energy signing up!

Business Scam

AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

FindTutor gets their money from tutors who subscribe/pay for their annual plan.
I saw two jobs from LinkedIn and applied by giving my CV and Cover Letter. Minutes later, I received an email asking to create a profile on their website. So, I did that and after completing they were asking me to pay £29 for annual subscription to highlight my profile. Thank god I didn't do it and it came to my senses: Why their advertisement on LinkedIn didn't mention the position is self-employed thought their website?

The conclusion: they attract people into their website to grab people's money.

I did a short research and this company it's own by "GoStudents" another scammy tutor website where clients have difficulties to cancel their subscription due to poor costumer service and tutors have no idea their hourly rate, they have to send the class transcript to the company to be able to get paid, which again: very difficult to do so.

Meaning: FindTutor is a "clean", new version of GoStudent. Both are scammy though.
