I am trying to understand why shipping…

I am trying to understand why shipping is $29.99 for a $60 pro cyst. My total came out to$130. I’m paying double for an item wow! At this rate I no longer want to be a Fingerhut member. Super high shipping costs is totally not worth it. I can order through Amazon instead. I will not be closing this account but I will no longer be using it due to the incredibly high shipping costs.

Same thing happened to me:

Same thing happened to me:

“Fingerhut notified it's customer cardholders of the following:

"Important Changes To Your Account take a moment to review the recent changes to your Fingerhut account. Fingerhut Fetti Credit Card
1 New Credit Account. Same Great Fingerhut.
A new Fingerhut Fetti credit account has replaced your previous Fingerhut Advantage credit account in My Account."

What they failed to tell us customers is that this new Fetti account would be reported as a new account to the credit bureaus. I have worked hard to raise my credit score the past few years. The new line and closing of the old account ruined all of that hard work because it dropped my credit score considerably.

And this from a company that advertises that it can increase your credit score. There should be a class action lawsuit for this.“

I’ve never used the account. Now they keep reporting it as a new account and sent me something stating If I don’t use it they will close!! All while affecting your credit score for no changes I made.

Fingerhut is awful.

Applied for the fresh start program on May 29th. They gave me a $150.00 limit with a 30 dollar down payment. I ordered a tablet for my grandchild’s birthday. So they took the 30 dollars off my card immediately. Mailed the tablet to a undeliverable address and the post office mailed it. Considering they charged me 21.99 for shipping you would think they would put the right postage address on the package. I’ve called spoke with 3 supervisors 7 agents and it’s unbelievable the amount of hassle this is. So on the 17th of June they decided they would send another one out hahaha ok it’s still pending shipment and the reason for that is the email states they are waiting for my 30 dollar down payment to clear?don’t forget now they still have my down payment from the first one they got back already. It shows on my account as returned. So why do they have to wait for money to clear that they done received. This place is a hassle. Their customer service is awful. I couldn’t understand half the agent I’ve talked to and the supervisor big eye roll. So it’s been month I’m out 30 dollars no tablet and still waiting for them to mail it. Now for all this bs they are going to give me shipping free they say. Well when will it ship? They don’t know it’s still pending. Save your money ppl and if your trying to rebuild credit just get a secured credit card learn from my mistake. I’ve also filed a complaint with the bbb.

FINGERHUT..

FINGERHUT... I have fetti, and advantage...thieves, and the liars! They doubled charged both my accounts took my money, and refused to fix the issue. I called several days in a row and all they did was lie to get me off the phone. When I called again they would not refund the mistake they made. Scam!!!

Intrusive and Insulting Calls

My complaint to the BBB:
I've had an account with Fingerhut for a while. I've always paid on time and never missed a payment. I used to get text messages and emails that began with "Friendly reminder" then went on to remind me to pay my payment. These were annoying so I requested they stop and they did. Then, out of the blue on 6/4/22 I received an automated call with an automated reminder to pay my payment. I called and told Fingerhut to not call me anymore. Today I got an email that read in part: "Dear JAMES WIKEL: We want to thank you for being a customer, and let you know that our records show you have revoked your consent for us to contact you by phone regarding your WebBank/Fingerhut Fetti Credit Account. We value your business, and would like to provide you with an explanation of what that means to you and your account: You will not be able to make future purchases using your WebBank/Fingerhut Fetti Credit Account. You can continue to make purchases using your Visa or Mastercard. This will also prevent you from utilizing any future credit line increase or participating in any special promotions." First off, I never consented to receive calls of any kind. Second, those calls are both intrusive and insulting. I called offshore customer service and was given apologies and told it is policy but I could always give consent and therefore be able to use the card. I was also told American customer service was unavailable. Unless this is resolved I think I'll revoke Fingerhut completely by closing the card and never do business with Fingerhut again.

Fingerhut Ruined My Credit Score

Bad policy to confirm identity

I called Customer Service to change my e-mail address, since the website had a notice that I couldn't do it online. After asking me all the info they needed to confirm my identity, I was told they would text a code to me that I would tell to them to further confirm my identity. Then I was placed on hold, and was told the system required further info before they could text to change my e-mail address. Here's the punchline: they asked me to scan my Social Security Card and either e-mail it to them or send it by postal mail. When I informed them that was not secure and I would not do that, he said "That's what the system requires." I asked to speak to a supervisor. I told the supervisor I was only changing my e-mail address, and that I already gave them all the information they would need to confirm my identity. Long story short, they put my account on hold until they received my Social Security Card. I was able to talk to my e-mail provider and ended up not having to change my address. Had they just texted a code that I could tell them, that should have been confirmation enough, unless someone out there not only knew ALL my personal information, but was also in possession of my phone.

About the account: I went to take care of my monthly payment and knew that I had a minimum due of $135.00, info I received in an e-mail that morning. When I went to the site, it said that the minimum due was $0.00. I called and actually got a very helpful person, Jackie. She explained that the $0.00 referred to my Fetti account, not my old Advantage account. She further explained that I now had TWO accounts, the old Advantage account that needed to be paid in full before going away, and the Fetti account which is where all purchases after 4/12/20 would go. She then said I would have two minimum payments due, one for Advantage and one for Fetti. Why didn't they just transfer the balances to the Fetti account, so you only have to deal with one account, not two? Lastly, they reported to the credit bureaus that my Fingerhut account was closed. Technically, that's true, but the credit bureaus don't know that. It could be my account was closed for non-payment. They should have reported that the Fingerhut account was now the Fetti account, not that my Fingerhut account was closed, which is really not true since I can still order at Fingerhut. Also, I always pay my amount due as soon as my retirement check comes in at the end of each month, which is weeks before the due date, so my account is in excellent standing... but it doesn't look that way on my credit report.

Avoid this company

Avoid this company! 1. Your credit file is in the hands of an offshore call center that doesn't work for the bank or company. They handle multiple business accounts, basically outsourcing.
2. Never give your bank statement or any other statement for the "we need it for verification", this causes loose ends for potential identity theft. And since this is is an off shore call center, chances make you a potential victim is significantly higher.
3. Your going to pay 30% interest on a product. Super expensive.. not logical.
It is better to build your credit with other sources.
I highly recommend anyone that has a problem with this company to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.

Fingerhut “Advantage” v. Fingerfetti

Fingerhut “Advantage” had some evasive explanation about having some internal issues with their bank funding but CONGRATULATIONS!! they opened a NEW line of credit for me with “Fingerfetti.” An account I did NOT request nor authorize. How is this not fraudulent? I’ve called and written demanding they CLOSE this fraudulent account immediately.

I knew going in what I was getting into, but after some time of them jacking with the account, continual credit increases and higher and higher “other” charges, I’m done. This company practices usury and it should be stopped. I’ll pay what I owe, but not a penny more. Class action perhaps? Crazy stuff!

I will be contacting my lawyer…

I will be contacting my lawyer regarding the practices of Fingerhut. They took it upon themselves to damage my credit against my will. Because they changed their payment processing system, it jeopardized my credit score, and credit history. I lost six month to date of credit history. Advantage was the payment processor until 4/11/2022, in which an email was sent stating so. The new payment processor, Fetti was in place on 4/13/2020. They, not I, took it upon themselves to close the Advantage account even though the customer could still access it online. The Customer ID number, banking info, password, purchases info, and credit limit all the same. The difference was the account number. Now, they reported the account as closed on 4/11/2022. Turned around and opened the Fetti account as a new trade. I lost six perfect years because of this move. Score dropped 22 points. This one of their quotes:
(Your credit line will not change and will reflect the last credit line assigned to your Fingerhut Advantage credit account)
I am very disappointed, angry, and fearful of Fingerhut. I cannot trust this entity anymore. I will get the justice I deserve.

Fingerhut.com is very unprofessional…

Fingerhut.com is very unprofessional company which is trying to push credit to buy only from their website. I did try to find any items for our iterest and non were there. I never purchase any goods from this company and I did requested to close our small business account with 0 USD balance. It is fake firm and this firm try to make money on interest. We are Virginia small business since May 2001 and we do not need credit from this kind of company as Fingerhut.

Just don't bother

Fingerhut is great IF you're trying to rebuild your credit... UNTIL that point when THEY (not you) absolutely destroy your credit... Here's what happened to me.

I've had a FH account for a few years. Opened it, kept payments up, paid the card off, made another charge, rinse, wash, repeat... This is how you play with these companies and get credit built.

The interest rates are high, the prices are massive (I can get the same product way cheaper on Amazon), the EVERYTHING is just bad... However, when you've got poor credit, and want to rebuild, THIS is what you're stuck with.

UNFORTUNATELY, and with very little notification, Fingerhut decided they were going to change their banks. All accounts are going to be closed, and then re-opened through another bank.

Those watching their credit scores know that this is BAD. Very bad! Your average credit age goes down, you get another inquiry on your account, and likely a lower credit limit. As well, the credit history with that company is just shot.

This is, by far, the most disrespectful company I've ever seen.

It starts out great to reel you in for torture.

THIS IS A HORRIBLE COMPANY!
I promise they are tricksters.
It started out really great, I supported it because when i had no credit it helped me build my credit in NO time..
However, 2-3 years later, it’s like you become disposable to them. Like they feel as though you’ve been used and you’re no longer worth trying to impress. They start giving temporary credit limit increases, and if you decide you don’t wanna use it, it’ll DROP your credit 30pts OR MORE, if you decide you do wanna use it, it’ll DROP your credit 20pts OR MORE. It’s a catch-22, and it’s a revolving door to keep you down, and never get your score pass or up to 750 AT LEAST!
They are AWFUL! I haaatteee them!
They take forever to reflect your payments on your account, and take forever to report to credit bureaus! It’s a whole MESS!
It sucks that this helped build my credit IN THE BEGINNING only for me to hate it so much TODAY!
I know if i was to “close” my account that just might drop my credit score a large number as well.

Do not open a line of credit with this company!

Do not open a line of credit with this company! I opened a line of credit with this company and always made payments on time. I decided that I no longer need them, so I decided to pay off the rest of my balance and close the account. I checked my account and it was still open so I called customer service to see the status of my account. The representative let me know that my account is only closed on my end and that it's open on their end. I asked why and that I wanted to fully close it. She told me that the accounts stay open on their end for three to five years. This is unacceptable. I will no longer be giving money to Fingerhut. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!

Falling scores

It started out as a five star but I'm struggling to give even a ONE. Be aware!! If you are using this to build your credit.. After you pay off the first thing you finance they close that account to open one with a higher limit. Closing a credit account can and will make your credit you worked so hard for dip. Be prepared to lose on the length of time accounts have been open front. I swear. I paid twice what I ordered was worth thinking this would help. It did.. This account brought me up by itself about 20 maybe 25 points. Then they closed the first without telling me to give me a higher limit account a NEW BLOODY ACCOUNT causing my increase in credit score to go down by half of my gain using them. I'm not angry though. Fingertip appeared to. Be an overpriced racket though anyway
