Food tasty

Food tasted delicious, although we had a long wait for it! Also quite disappointed that the kids meal has no salad/onions in the burger or an option to add it! Given the rise of obesity and diabetes in children this is not acceptable!

Extreme disappointment

Extreme disappointment with the cleanliness of your Bristol location on the 21st of Feb 2025.

Upon entering the restaurant, it was immediately apparent that the dining area was in disarray. Many tables were dirty and required cleaning. My party and I were forced to clean our tables before sitting down.

The situation worsened when I stepped on a large milkshake spilt on the floor. I understand another customer had already alerted a staff member to the spill, but it was not cleaned. Furthermore, it remained on the floor for approximately 20 minutes after I witnessed it, creating a significant hazard and contributing to the unsanitary environment.

This experience was disappointing because Five Guys is a relatively expensive dining option. The expectation is that, for the price, a certain level of cleanliness and hygiene would be maintained. The conditions I encountered were unacceptable and, frankly, quite disgusting.

I am concerned about the staff's apparent failure to address customer concerns promptly and their lack of attention to basic hygiene standards—Plestaff's apparent failure to promptly address customer concerns similar incidents in the future.

I would appreciate a response outlining your steps to address my concerns.

Allergy notification not clear

I went to your Bristol branch on Saturday. I was ordering on the screen in store. I ordered chips and a burger. Luckily my friend noticed that the chips are cooked in peanut oil. It was so small on the screen I never noticed it. I have a nut allergy. I then approached the desk to see if there was an alternative so that I could have fries. I was too there was not. With the amount of people who have nut allergies I do believe your notices should be bigger and all over the resturant. If I had eaten those chips it would have caused a sever allergic reaction. Your policy on peanut oil should be reviewed and an alternative offered and notices about peanut oil should be much more visible.

Hi Louise, thank you for your feedback.

To confirm, the allergens are signposted at various points throughout the digital Kiosk journey, as well as on the till and menu.

Our fries are ‘Boardwalk style’, which means that they are hand-cut on site each day and cooked in a 3-step process: precook, cooling, and final cook. The heating qualities and texture found in peanut oil allow for this process to run smoothly and achieve the quality of fry that we are known for. We believe that peanut oil meets the flavour profile we seek.

Our fries have remained on the menu ever since and have become a well-loved feature of our brand all over the world. We by no means want to exclude guests from our stores, but at the same time we would not want to disappoint our fans. We do not plan on introducing an alternative.

We hope this explains more and apologise for any inconvenience.

Dont bother, unless you like getting ripped off.

Absolutley awful. Firstly an order taker who could not explain if the milkshakes used ice cream or just plain milk plus a 25 minute wait at a dirty and sticky table for our food did not help. When the food did arrive it would be ok for a home bbq burger, but nothing special. The chips were soggy, the whole lot just lobbed into a bag. Without a smile. The act of opening the burger from its tin foil, pulled the burger apart, it was soggy and as said above ok for a home bbq affair. The biggest annoyance though was the price £45.10 for two burgers, two drinks and two 'fries' The fries were £5.75 each, plus £4.35 for soda and £5.95 for a tastless beer. Now I know stuff has gone up due to wages, inflation and Putin, but there is a large element of taking the punter for a ride here. Just on the beer alone, the mark up must be £3 per bottle. My local chip shop also uses real spuds but can still punt out the same quantity of chips for £3 that 5 Guys ripped me off for £12. To put it in context, on the Friday before this rip off, my local pub served us a 16 ounce rump and 10 ounce surf and turf rip eye ( with chips, salad, onions, peas etc) for £49. (Their burgers are £9 each with same trimmings as the steaks) What is the performance advantage that 5 Guys are putting out over McDs that for @£17 will give me the same meal? Will not be back or will I go to the New store in Gloucester. Avoid Avoid Avoid.

Hi Andrew, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review regarding your visit to Bristol.

To confirm, our milkshakes are made from a vanilla base and the chosen flavours are then mixed in. Our fries are always served in the cup plus and extra scoop loose in the bag - they are not made to be crispy, but rather have a firm outside and mashed potato inside. Our burgers have been served in foil since we began to keep the heat and toppings in, which may be different than what's expected at other brands.

Our prices are what they are as we pride ourselves on the quality of our food. We use only fresh and premium ingredients, which are hand prepared each morning by our crew, to ensure a high quality product. We don't have any freezers in our stores and everything is cooked to order.

We hope this explains more about your experience, and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Used Uber Eats for the delivery

Used Uber Eats for the delivery. Rider picked up my order then waited 15 minutes at the local McDonald’s, collected a separate order, delivered that, then delivered mine. STONE COLD! Five guys should review their couriers as I was unable to get any customer service from Uber Eats and paid £21 for an inedible burger with shake. Five guys not reachable easily either. Will support local burger business now as they are much more accessible and amenable.

Greasy burgers in a loud, dirty cafe.

Bristol Cabot Circus. The music was ridiculously loud throughout our visit. I couldn't hear the person taking my order and she couldn't hear me; it didn't help that she was angry about something (possibly the noise). When the food was ready, after a 10 minute wait, there were 4 customers waiting for their orders by the counter and none of us could hear what the guy shouting out the order numbers was saying.
The tables were filthy, but at least the long wait for the food gave us time to wipe them down. I'd recommend taking a packet of wet wipes with you.
The 2 burgers were both greasy; the buns weren't toasted and so disintegrated as we ate. The chips were cold and oddly flavourless.
No part of the experience justified the absurdly high prices.

Absolutely disgusted by the price for…

Absolutely disgusted by the price for what you get. 1 burger, 1 hotdog, small fries and 2 shakes £30. Cashier was grumpy and not really a people person it would seem.
Definitely not worth the money and all the hype that goes with it.

Cost £34 for two cheeseburgers

Cost £34 for two cheeseburgers, two fries and two soft drinks. Looked like they’d been thrown around the kitchen before being crushed and shoved in the bag, grease dripping everywhere.

Complete rip off - if you want a quick and edible burger, try any other fast food place for 1/5 of the price.

Had a cheaper two course meal for two at Frankie and Benny’s!

The food is delicious but the prices…

The food is delicious but the prices are ripping off customers' wallet. The portion is very small for Burger and Hot dog that you pay for the prices about £8 not including drink. I hate to go there because of the prices but my husband likes to eat there in some weekends.
I prefer to eat a hotdog from Costco which is only £1.99 including drink.
