Fort Lucan - excellent place for a school tour or day out with kids

We went on a school tour to Fort Lucan with 1st and 2nd class this week. They loved it and had an absolute ball. It was the right amount of freedom to run around while also being enclosed and safe. It's the perfect size for kids to explore with plenty of different things to do. My son loved all of the slides, especially the new water ones, he loved the crazy golf and the helter skelter as well as the playground. It was really well organised. The Fort Lucan staff came on the bus before the kids got off to give instructions. There was a shed where kids could put their bags and plenty of picnic benches for adults to base themselves at. The weather was showery but the kids didn't mind at all! I'd definitely recommend this place for school tours or for a morning or afternoon out over the summer.

Playground for 18€ / when Dublin is full off Free Playgrounds

Total disorganization. Dirty bathrooms with no hand-drying paper.
Very few signs or instructions for Slides.
And by the way, where they advertise that kids can slide from the water, you actually need to pay a €30 ticket, not just €18…

I witnessed a case where a little girl, about 3 years old, got stuck between some stairs, inside the wood house, crying for help. Her mother wasn’t allowed to go inside to help her by a team member, and none of the staff moved to assist — they just called the manager, who only arrived after 5 minutes. In the meantime, the mother went in to help her daughter and said -this was ridiculous.
When the manager finally arrived, she said that 3-year-old children are not allowed in that playground, as it’s only for ages 5 and up. There was no sign indicating this. Even my own 4-year-olds went in there — I had no idea it was dangerous for him.

I absolutely do not recommend this place.
