Honest review from potential client

Honest review from potential client. After arranging and attending an appointment at my property on Friday I was informed by Rob the branch manager he would phone and email me that evening. After no response I emailed again Saturday and then again on Monday requesting a response for a valuation. Both emails were ignored. Phoned Tuesday to request a response and was given an apology and informed that I would receive a response today as I explained I was awaiting valuation. Didn’t even have the courtesy to phone back either way. If this is the way they treat potential sales and clients I wouldn’t trust them to sell anything let alone a property. Total waste of my time and now I will have to arrange another agent . Avoid

It’s early days for me in deciding whether to move house. I was shown around a property by Sydney who was very helpful and understanding of my situation. She was upbeat about the lovely property I viewed today, without being ‘pushy’. She was professional, friendly and I felt she was a very good advocate for Fox and Sons. Thank you.

My wife and I are quite elderly and…

My wife and I are quite elderly and both retired. We live in our own apartment in a private block which we purchased ten years ago. A few months ago Fox & Sons let a nearby apartment to a woman with severe mental health issues that had been evicted from a council property for causing a nuisance and attracting vermin. Ever since moving in she has randomly dumped huge amounts of rubbish around the building and only last week the council removed 72 bin bags of rotting food from her apartment including pigeons that had also taken up residence. The quality of our lives and that of the other residents has been completely ruined by the inexcusable action of Fox & Sons when it was plain from the outset that this person was seriously mentally ill. We have suffered knives being thrown from her balcony, disgusting graffiti on the staircase, the smell of rotting food permeating the building and cat litter spread everywhere. It is obvious that Fox & Sons took up no references whatsoever before letting the property and they cannot provide any information about this woman’s departure. I am utterly appalled that this company has caused so many residents such misery.

Fox and Sons letting agents - no service at all

Fox and Sons advertised a property to let nearby that was particularly suitable for us. I sent a message via the Rightmove website expressing our interest and asking to view the property. I got no response at all. I called the telephone number and left a message on the answer phone - and got no response. I called the branch and was told I had reached the sales team who could not help but they took a message for me and said they would get the letting department to call me back. No response. I sent emails. No response. Eventually today I drove to the branch to talk to somebody. The lettings department is behind a locked door, no response when I rang the bell. I went into the branch and was told the people there were sales staff and the lettings staff were unavailable. I asked for contact details of a regional manager or head office that I could contact and was told that they do not know the contact details for a headoffice/ regional manager but would take my details and ask the lettings agent to call me. Of course they have not. I eventually drove to the property to see if I could contact the landlord directly. Not surprisingly, after all this time that I have wasted trying to raise somebody from Fox & Sons the property has been let to somebody else. I will never ever use Fox & Sons and would advise others not to either.

I have dealt with a few letting agents…

I have dealt with a few letting agents over the years and I must say, Fox And Sons rate very highly for me.
The application process went very smoothly, with constant communication and updates throughout, particular kudos to Oskar who has been my main point of contact throughout,
All that you ask for during a process like this is to be kept in the loop, something that Oskar and his team have managed very well.

Thankyou

AVOID!!!!!

AVOID!!!!!

The mortgage broker asked us to pay a one-time fee of £599 for the lifetime membership fee to enjoy LIFE TIME mortgage advice service.

The first offer failed, so we asked for mortgage advice for another house, and they asked us to pay £99 again for mortgage service. They have told us that £599 is a life-time service. It is cheating.

Luke Hallewell from Fox and Sons

We had Luke from Fox and sons in Hastings round to value our property and at the time he was very nice and knowledgeable. We had in total three agents round who all valued the property about the same. After this we had some conversations with all agents and decided not to go with Fox and sons as after speaking with people knew they advanced us of their very unpleasant experience with them.we Emailed Luke at Fox and Sons to say thank you for your time but we have decided to go another route , below is a copy of the response we got back from him.Notice all the exclamation marks and how he tries to make us feel guilty about going elsewhere !
“ Good Morning,

What’s the reason for going with another route?

I have worked so hard to have given you the best fee anyone has ever had from a fox and sons even better than what my own sister was able to get!! To do this I had to have a long meeting about it with my area manager to get approved! We have the biggest reach in the town due to our offices across the UK and have the best client care set up in the town.

I know you had two other agents out one is yet to sell a house over £375,000 this year so I wouldn’t go with them!!

I keep getting clients of the other agent you had who claim to be the best in the town, calling me up to take the property on as they haven’t heard from them and been made to do viewings themselves!! They claim they are too busy this is due to them having to many properties to manage this can be seen as they are known for having the highest fall through rate as well.

The route you have decide to take I hope works well for you but if you need my services in future once being on with another agent I won’t be able to get the fee lowered again. This is a shame as you had mentioned you would use us if we could do £6,500 including vat and I actually managed to get it to £6,000 including vat.

Kind Regards,

Luke Hallewell

Brilliant Mortgage Advisor

The mortgage advisor, Rhodri, at the Fox & Sons Bitterne branch is fantastic. Extremely professional, knowledgeable and highly competent.

Would recommend Rhodri without slightest hesitation.

Professional friendly service

So far, I have only had a valuation of my property from Fox & Sons (needed by HMRC), so I can't review their full service, but I was impressed by Luke's personal interest in my situation, and his professional attitude. I shall certainly consider putting the house in the hands of Fox & Sons when (if) I come to sell.

Best experience ever

Good experience! Whenever I rang through to the office, the people who answered the phone were very friendly and professional.

Zoran at the Fox and sons Taunton branch was also incredibly helpful throughout every step of the process! Despite probably being very busy, He always kept in contact with me and provided updates along the way, and always responded quickly. He was very patient and answered all of my questions(!) and was so reassuring throughout the whole process.

Now me and my family we are able to move to our beautiful new home

Thank you Zoran

They were the worse letting agency

They were the worse letting agency that I have worked with, they don't report things from tenant to landlord and vice versa, they are just on the landlord side and not as a in between person to mediate, they don't do their work properly, are very unprofessional, avoid at all costs to work with this people, there are loads of letting agents to work with

(Reviewed) One day after I posted this review, Fox & Sons decided to leave a review on google as I'm a tradesman and guess what, they rated me 1 star without having any contact with me in my area, just so you can see how unscrupulous and vengeful this people are, avoid! avoid! avoid! still haven't received my deposit after almost 2 months I left the house I rented through them

Bad customer service. I had to call them for updates because they never call back. Those two ladies dealing with rental properties are the most confused lot I’ve ever had to deal with.

I made the mistake of going with Fox and Sons, Bexhill

I made the mistake of going with Fox and Sons in May, and they turned out to be terrible. I dumped them and went with another estate agent. That would have been the end of it, and I wouldn't have left a bad review but... I specifically asked for them to remove my details from their system, and not receive any marketing. Low and behold, I started receiving marketing calls today. So, here's my review of them; Terrible photos, and I had to take my own high def' ones in the end, and even those, they managed to pixelate and screw up when they put them on the web. Even though I showed them round, they kept sending agents to viewings who hadn't been here before, and had no idea where anything was (a large sprawling property). They push all their own financial services and conveyancers, who are rubbish, and have numerous bad reviews on the internet. I had no idea who was in charge, or who I was dealing with from week to week, and they lied about their database of potential buyers. In any case, if I receive any more marketing calls from them I am reporting them to the police for harassment. Don't use them.
