Lovely pub and relaxing lovely staff. We ordered the black Angus steak at £29.95 per person, we ask for medium it came with blood running everywhere on the plate. We sent them back and they cooked the same ones again, we had to wait at least another 10 minutes which spoiled the evening. When we did try them again there was very little taste in the steak, very disappointing .

Blake was exceptionally helpful with the booking, excellent customer service.
Unfortunately the roast beef was inedible as it has so much sinew in it. I’m sure it was the poor end of the joint that at least 2 of us had. I told the server but was not offered any reduction for not being able to eat the meat which was left on the plate. One of the waitresses was clearly having a bad day and obviously wanted everyone else to join in her sour mood, thankfully she only came to the table a few times and the other jolly waitress came the rest of the time. Overall not a great experience but this time it wouldn’t stop me going back but I wouldn’t have the Sunday roast again. We will usually choose a Brunning and Price pub over any other as they usually offer great food and a good vibe. Hopefully this occasion was a one-off.

John and his team knocked it out of the park last night. Our waitress was excellent and the food hit another level, Pea Ravioli, Scallops, Sea Bass, Lamb Rump, Fish & Chips, all perfect.

Yet again the Fox has let itself down with its service and food, feels like an inconvenience when your there ? Serving staff are not too bothered, Meals came out at different times, the sauces came out at the end of the meal, we will never go again, redhouse blows the fox out of the water.
The fox has a lovely location but who ever runs the place needs to read the book unreasonable hospitality.

We had a family meal at the Fox, Newport, Shropshire which was really disappointing. It appears to have gone downhill since we last attended. However that was several years ago.
There were four adults and we had different meals off the menu. I honestly couldn’t recommend any of them.
I had a beef burger which in my opinion was a disgrace for the money. The burger itself was tasteless and there was minimal filling and none of the accompanying salad you would expect in a restaurant. The chips were the skinny frozen ones and uninspiring. I got the impression that there wasn’t a chef on the premises, but somebody heating previously frozen food. Even the staff waiting on looked like students and I believe the place is being run on a shoestring. They are serving low quality food while charging premium prices. We won’t be going back.

This review is for The Fox-based in Newport, just outside Telford, Shropshire TF10 9LQ. What a lovely country pub and restaurant. Beautifully fitted out and with a great sized rear garden. Plenty of room for kids to run around.A very wide selection of drinks across all beverages and a decent size food menu. A friend and I opted for the 7oz fillet steak. It was cooked to perfection and the quality of the meat was fantastic. Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome and top service.
