Poor experience and unresponsive and disinterested
I have had a very poor experience dealing with Season from the Canary Wharf branch. He had been unhelpful and very unresponsive through a property transfer that I purchased, I would avoid at all costs.
State of the art
Very pleased with Mohammed and Oscar in East London! The house was sold off market in only 4 days!!! Sales completed in 2.5 months!! They did the follow up and I can only be thankful for such excellence. Thank you!
Moved in on 10 September and by 13…
Moved in on 10 September and by 13 September the ceiling was leaking, right under an old water-damage stain they absolutely knew about.
Ellie and Roxy have been beyond useless. They do nothing except pass me around, make empty promises, and disappear. Not a single thing has actually been done, no matter how many times I call, email, or chase.
What they do somehow have time for is asking for viewings twice, while my ceiling is still leaking. It’s honestly pathetic.
Foxtons’ service is negligent, disorganised, and completely indifferent to tenants. Avoid them unless you enjoy being ignored while your flat falls apart.
Blatant liars - the most unprofessional service
We were repeatedly given information by the letting agent that turned out to be untrue or later changed. Basic steps that should have been handled professionally were completely overlooked, causing us significant stress and financial loss.
The biggest issue was that Foxtons pushed us to sign a tenancy agreement for a fixed move-in date without having written confirmation of when the existing tenants would actually vacate. As a result, we were forced to pay our previous landlord £900 for 9 extra days just to avoid moving twice and placing all our belongings in storage.
We were also told—verbally and in writing—that the landlord would compensate £100 per night (or more) for accommodation plus any moving and storage costs. Yet, after we found a cheaper solution (which eliminated all storage/moving costs), Foxtons suddenly informed us that the landlord would only pay £750 in total. There was no written agreement, and when the landlord went back on what was verbally promised, the agent made no attempt to advocate for us. Instead, we were expected to simply accept it.
We were also guaranteed that the flat would be professionally cleaned and that repairs, including painting, would be completed before move-in. None of this happened. The flat was dirty, food was left in cupboards and the freezer, the carpets were not cleaned, almost every wall is stained, the bathroom door is missing a doorknob (replaced with a shoelace), and the hob is cracked and unsafe. The landlord later confirmed that none of these works were ever arranged, and that the landlord had never promised this would be fixed. They've actually straight up refused to do repairs which were promised (namely the painting to cover the massive food stains on the walls), or even reimburse us for the cost to do it ourselves.
To add to everything, the agent gave us incorrect information about key collection. When we tried to clarify, he responded with rude and defensive messages and deflected all responsibility.
Despite emailing Foxtons directly and asking to speak to a manager, we never received a response. That silence unfortunately speaks volumes about the overall customer service standard. They even asked for a review, which I gave and never received a response.
We would strongly advise others to avoid using Foxtons. Our experience has shown a complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic communication.
Do not rent through Foxtons
If you are a renter, please do not use Foxtons. They are a scammy horrible company that only serves the interests of the landlord. They rented us an overpriced disgusting dump by using old out-of-date photos in the rental ad, and locked us into an abusively restrictive contract that made it impossible to leave the horrible dump that ruined my mental health. Do yourself a favour and stay away from these money hungry scammers.
Professional, friendly and helpful.
I was very pleased with the service I received from Foxtons. Plenty of viewings courtesy of Charlotte G at Balham and her colleague Demi W at Streatham found me my new rental. Both are delightful.
Happy to report professional, friendly and helpful throughout the procedure.
Would definitely recommend.

I rented a flat in Richmond through…
I rented a flat in Richmond through Foxtons. While I want to acknowledge that Ciara DuPont was professional and genuinely tried to help, my overall experience with the lettings team — particularly Margot Redpath — was very disappointing.
From my experience, the focus seemed to be on securing the rental quickly, rather than ensuring the property was safe and healthy to live in. After moving in, I raised serious issues about damp, mould, and maintenance, but my messages were often ignored or left unanswered.
It felt like once the contract was signed, there was no real support or accountability. Marketing and furnishing seemed to matter more than tenant wellbeing or property condition.
I truly hope Foxtons reviews their internal processes and ensures their agents take tenants’ health and safety concerns seriously before listing or re-letting properties.
Extremly stressful
I have always been a responsible tenant, paying my rent on time and keeping clear records of every payment. However, my experience with Foxtons has been extremely disappointing.
Despite making payments promptly, I repeatedly face issues where my rent is not recorded correctly, or the system shows a balance of £0 while I continue to receive threatening payment reminders. Each time I raise this issue, I am ignored. I’ve sent multiple emails and received no proper response or resolution.
This ongoing negligence is not only frustrating but also damaging to my reputation as a reliable tenant. The rental payments department urgently needs a serious internal review, as the current level of professionalism and reliability is far below acceptable standards.
Foxtons’ lack of accountability and poor communication have completely ruined what could have been a positive rental experience. I truly hope management takes these complaints seriously, because this kind of service destroys the company’s good name and the trust of its clients.
Too aggressive for a listing!
Ah, where do I start. I understand that self-employed agents are eager to secure listings, but that overly pushy, almost aggressive approach is extremely off-putting and reflects poorly on the many great agents out there. I dealt with the Walthamstow branch as my mum was trying to sell her property, but unfortunately, she had no success since the pandemic. After an initial visit, I said I’d be in touch yet what followed was an overwhelming barrage of constant calls and emails. It became excessive and frankly, unprofessional.
I spoke to one of your agents yesterday and explained that my brother is now buying my mother out, with plans for a full renovation. Rather than listening, the agent spent 16 minutes repeating that selling would be a better idea. I wasn’t asking for his opinion, I was simply informing him that we are not selling. I understand the market might not be strong despite the agent bragging they are not having issues, but with this level of persistence over a £600k property, especially so close to Christmas, it shows otherwise and is extremely unnecessary. Clients deserve space to make their own decisions. A more respectful approach might even benefit your team in the new year, when many people start fresh with “new year, new home” goals.
I actually recorded the call and as someone familiar with the industry, it was uncomfortable to listen to. For a reputable agency like Foxtons, that kind of interaction is disappointing. I had even planned to refer a neighbour who was considering selling, but instead, I’ve directed them to Stow Brothers. Perhaps some additional training for your self-employed agents would be worthwhile.
Worse Sales Experience- Jack Lippard
Jack Lippard promised , almost guaranteed it would sell and justified much higher commission fee but delivered nothing, had no viewings etc and lost me 4 months and lots of money. Do not use at all. Did not once send me updates at all. Worse company ever.
Quite literally the worst property…
Quite literally the worst property management experience I have ever had and hope I will ever have in my life. Their support of tenants is absolutely disgraceful, I can only imagine that their fees are incredibly cheap for landlords as there is no other possible reason why a landlord would choose Foxton's and expose their tenants to Foxton's carelessness and lazyness. I have been a tenant in a Foxtons managed property now for just over 3 years, and they honestly only seem to get worse with time. The property manager shows no care or time urgency - we were once left with an ongoing leak for over a year and a half, leaving the property ceiling in danger of collapse.
Quite literally avoid at all costs - as a tenant (to save yourself) and as a landlord for the mental wellbeing of your tenants
Best in the business. Well done Almer Khan
I have been dealing with Foxtons close to 20 years now and in this instance I dealt with Almer through letting on my property.
What an agent and what a team. Best in the business. Always calm, professional, available and earnest in his dealings with me. I cannot recommend him and his team enough. The best of the best.
Incredibly immature
Incredibly immature, ineffective and unprofessional work ethics and staff. By far the worst of the worst customer experience in 20 years of dealing with estate agents. Will never use Foxtons again.
Scammed us
Agreed terms of a contract with the agent by increasing the amount paid for rent. But the agent denied it after increasing the rent but not putting in the new terms to the contract. It was the Marylebone branch of Foxtons
Perfect expertise, supervision, execution and result
The service was outstanding from knowledge to interactions to supervision to follow up. And on top of it - it was a pleasure all the way and the final outcome was perfect
Refurbishment
Refurbishment
Charles Okwuosa was an absolute dream in helping me refurbish my property. I could not have asked for better support.
We had the WORST experience with…
We had the WORST experience with foxtons during our time here in London. We had a placed leased out to us, only to find a plethora of issues associated with the flat. After hundreds, HUNDREDS, of calls going back and forth, including countless follow-ups on our end (due to their lack of response on their end), we were able to get a couple of inspectors to come in and inspect the issue. Long story short, and I mean LONG story, we were able to finally exit the tenancy. However, our refund, along with the inducing stressful roadblocks along the way, came after 2 months after we left the property - despite numerous promises that stated otherwise. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE save yourself the stress and time and go to an alternative route. We went with StudentLuxe, but feel free to do more research. I'm begging you, stay clear.
Worst agency we have used in London
Foxtons is the worst agency we have ever used in London. They have been generally unfriendly and difficult, but the latest tops everything for us. Their most recent failure is delaying the return of our deposit unreasonably and without a proper explanation, despite the landlord having confirmed over two weeks ago that the full amount is agreed to be due to us. We need to keep chasing them and they keep saying they will instruct their accounts team to proceed but we are still waiting… and they are ignoring emails. Incompetence at its best. AVOID Foxtons if you can at all cost!!
Pushy, rude, used scare tactics
Really horrible to communicate with, I was talked over, told I was being irresponsible for not buying a property over my limit, told to ask family members for more money, got told this would be my only opportunity to buy a flat (in London!). Every scare tactic was used, I came to not want to pick up my phone and they were so off-putting I will not look at properties they're selling in future.
One good thing is they are always available for a call for when I do feel like being talked down to.
