Terrible product!
I ordered an oak mantel beam and it arrived with a chunk of wood missing. Customer Services agreed to replace it and sent another one. We put this one up on the wall and after 2 months, it had split so badly that it looked as though it would fall off the wall! This time, they agreed a refund. When it was taken off the wall, the screws were covered in rust, indicating the wood was wet inside. Do not order one of these beams unless you have a Victorian cottage or you want split wood on your wall!

When you later contacted us regarding concerns with the replacement beam, we again worked with you to reach a resolution and agreed a refund.
As our products are made from natural oak, movement, splits and character features can develop as the timber acclimatises to its environment. However, we appreciate that in this instance you were unhappy with the outcome, which is why we took steps to resolve the matter for you.

Although we experienced a few issues with DX during delivery, the staff at Funky Chunky Furniture were incredibly supportive throughout the whole process. They communicated with us regularly, kept us updated, and worked quickly to rectify the issue, which made a stressful situation so much easier.
The assembly instructions were very easy to follow, and we were even sent a helpful how-to video via email for installation. I thought this was such a great touch as it caters to different learning styles and made putting everything together straightforward and stress-free.

Fab TV stand & excellent delivery service
Ordered a TV stand from Funky Chunky Furniture a week or so after moving into my first home. My TV stand arrived quicker than expected (but still with enough notice to prepare for delivery), and gentleman who delivered it was fantastic - we had some trouble getting the pallet through the back gate so he helped me to unpack the boxes from the pallet, bring the boxes into my home, and very kindly took the pallet away for me. The TV stand was easy to assemble and looks amazing in my living room. The product is such good value for money and I am so happy with my choice. Thank you!

Utter Disappointment
From spilt deliveries, missing parts, damaged goods and then the wrong missing parts being sent...I am utterly fed up and disappointed to the point where I just want to return everything and never want to look at these shelves again. Problems are still ongoing.

That said, we do feel it's important to acknowledge that each issue raised has been responded to and actively resolved by our team. Where items arrived damaged, replacements were arranged. Where parts were missing, replacements were sent. When the incorrect replacement parts were supplied, this was corrected and the correct parts were dispatched.
We appreciate that these issues should not have occurred and understand your disappointment. However, we are continuing to work with you to resolve the remaining matters and have not refused assistance at any stage.

Avoid- long delays
Ordered a Stepney Bed Frame on 21 April (Order #124915). On 29 April I contacted them to ask about earlier dispatch. Their AI bot replied within 1 minute. When I pushed for a human, a real agent named Elaine confirmed in writing that my order was scheduled for dispatch week commencing 1st June.
On the morning of 29 May, the week the order was due to be produced, I received a templated email saying it would now be week commencing 22nd June. A 3 week delay, no prior warning, no proactive contact.
They cite ongoing supply chain issues. Those issues existed when Elaine confirmed my date. They took my money and said nothing for 4 weeks.
Customer service is primarily an AI bot. When you push for a human you wait a day. The human then gives you a date they cannot keep.
Product may be fine. The process and communication are not. If your delivery date matters to you, I would look elsewhere.

Appalling logistics, hidden policies, and total double standards
Avoid this company if you expect basic customer service, transparent delivery practices, or a reliable courier network.
Funky Chunky Furniture delayed my order by a month and then attempted a delivery on a working day by texting me a time slot at 7:30 AM for an arrival window between 7:40 AM and 9:40 AM. Because I could not instantly upend my morning outside of standard business hours with only 10 minutes of notice before the window opened, they penalised me with a £55 re-delivery fee. They failed to disclose any 12-hour delivery window in writing beforehand, yet actively held my property hostage until this unfair fee was cleared. I was forced to pay it strictly under protest just to get my goods released.
To make matters worse, on the rescheduled delivery day, it passed 10:00 AM with zero tracking updates and no 2-hour morning notification window, completely violating their own official website policy. The bedframe eventually just showed up completely unannounced midday with absolutely zero communication.
When challenged, customer service sent a formal email admitting to the breakdown, stating, "We're sorry that the ETA notification was not provided to you as expected... Please accept our apologies again for the lack of communication around the delivery window."
It is an absolute joke that this company expects consumers to adhere to rigid, unworkable delivery windows outside of business hours under threat of heavy financial penalties yet feels entitled to completely fail their own delivery obligations on the service you paid extra for. I have formally escalated this entire paper trail to a PayPal dispute to claw back my money. Complete logistical failure.

We provided advance notice of your delivery date via email, followed by an ETA from the courier on the morning of delivery. Unfortunately, the delivery was missed because nobody was available to accept it, which resulted in the re-delivery fee being applied by the courier.
On the re-delivery date, we agree that the courier failed to provide the expected ETA notification, and we apologised for this. We immediately chased the courier for an update, however the order was delivered before they were able to respond to us.
We appreciate that parts of the experience were frustrating. However, we would also ask that any review fairly reflects the fact that delivery notifications were issued, the re-delivery fee arose following a failed delivery attempt, and the order was ultimately delivered successfully.

Worst experience ever
Item arrived damaged, incorrect and the customer service after was appalling. We paid a £45 for Saturday delivery and never had this refunded despite the item being damaged. I would never order from this company again! The lack of care and understanding was so disappointing.

To clarify, the item supplied was not incorrect. Following return and inspection back at our workshop, we confirmed the coffee table delivered was the Chopwell Tall Coffee Table ordered, matching the advertised specifications.
We also acknowledge the item arrived with transit damage, which is why we arranged collection of the furniture.
In relation to the Saturday delivery charge, the premium service paid for was fulfilled, as the order was successfully delivered on the requested Saturday delivery date.
While we appreciate your disappointment overall, we do feel we attempted to assist throughout the matter and are sorry you remain unhappy with the outcome.

Bed was delayed several times, little communication
When bed arrived it was damaged told them straight away had to chase responses several times, its still not sorted offered a £15 wax kit for a dented headboard! Terrible do not order.

Poor bed, poor customer service, poor service in general
I ordered a bed, looked good online, lead time was 4-6 weeks. It took almost 10 weeks to finally arrive, i emailed in multiple times to get an update, the emails that were replied to were automated by a bot with just generic information it was pulling from a database, proven by the fact they replied to the name on the order not the one i signed the emails with. When i emailed in asking for a partial refund because of the wait they ignored me. When the bed arrived it was not on a pallet as advertised but strewn about in the back of a lorry, tbf each piece was heavily bubble wrapped but that didn't stop there being a chunk taken out of one of the pieces to which the company said i could wax it out. The pieces of the bed don't align properly to which to company told me to jiggle the pieces to get them together. The quality of the wood seems good but the wood stinks. I don't want to deal with this horrible company anymore so the partially connected bed now sits in a spare room (it was supposed to be our main bed) although i'm embarrassed to have it in my house at all. Avoid Funky Chunky Furniture.
