Update:

Order delivered to a safe place today. There happens to be a local holiday and I am off. I got a courier message at 13:42 that I would have a delivery between 13:33pm and 14:33 pm. I managed to change to a safe place delivery in time and picked up the delivery on return from being out with the family. Not great but could have gone worse.

Basically it comes down to the courier used here in Aberdeen not being able to deliver on a Sunday.

If the meals are good I may adjust expectations as the food is still chilled and cooked already however the situation is less than ideal.

Some extra items included which was kind but Order 46813-10 meals purchased due for delivery Sunday 21st September.

I have had similar difficulties in the past and received a refund from a helpful individual in customer service.

On one occasion I received the items after a courier delayed in transit message and on the second occasion they never arrived and I received a refund through PayPal case resolution.

On the last occasion a kind email explained the difficulties were with delivery and asked me to give the service another chance.

With this order I contacted customer services and received a nice email reassuring me that the delivery issues had been resolved following meetings.

I also left a clear deliver note for the benefit of the delivery service.

Unfortunately, on the day of delivery yesterday I again received an email that the delivery was delayed in transit and that updates would normally be received in 24 hours.

The delivery tracking says there has been an issue at a logistics site far from my actual delivery address and was last updated at 02:10am on Sunday.

I have received the food on one out of three occasions and in fairness it was very good and I would have no hesitation on becoming a frequent service user.

Unfortunately, as a customer I rely on company structure being in place which results in perishable food being delivered in a reliable and timely fashion.

That infrastructure does not as yet exist in my experience and so I will not be using the service again. Furthermore, I wonder if as many clients would have given a further chance to the company or let them know I was making an order so they could do their best to avoid difficulties arising.

Shame, the food was good but the delivery aspect does not work at least for where I am situated.

Food never arrives on time, customer service is very poor and lie to you constantly week after week (that’s even is you are lucky to get hold of them)
Never answer their phone so you rely on getting an email back eventually.
STAY AWAY!!!!!

I ordered for collection by mistake. I hadn't realized until I contacted the Instagram page that I had done this, it was my error at check out. As I couldn't get to collection address, they offered to remake and ship a fresh batch free of charge the following Wednesday. They didn't have to do that for me as it was my mistake but it really was appreciated. I have used Prep by Gainz a few times and they really help my training (especially through pregnancy!) I can't thank them enough for their good service.

They have taken money from my card twice after cancelling the subscription. I have been trying to contact them for months and no response so far. I've tried again today at their new email, will keep you posted.

DO NOT USE, food never turned up (like other reviews mention) offered a replacement box, that never came, offered a code for us to order again that never came, requested a refund, that never came. These reviews are real they will take your money and blank you. TERRIBLE company COMPLETE SCAM DO NOT USE

UPDATE: the emailed me that they'll look into it. Its been more than 2 weeks and still nothing!

Absolutely the best food preps ever, I have tried loads of companies but there’s not even in the same league. I do a 50 Mile round trip to get my meals because there that good

Brilliant experience so far, order came on time. Super tasty with excellent portions. All macros clearly labeled. I have already ordered again :)

Advertised Halal - "Yes! Our meat & fish used is Halal. All our meals (apart from the Mighty Meat Wrap & Breakfast.Contain: Chorizo) are halal. We ensure full precautions are taken and there is no risk of contamination"

However - in the meal selections. Some dishes clearly state "PORK" & "BACON".

Establishments handling Non-Halal meat should be avoided

Overall, not the best meal prep company I've tried When arrived the boxes were damaged and clear film on the meals was slightly open. The food just doesn't taste great and the meat is quite tasteless. I hate to leave a bad review but I'm just being honest.

Food arrived smashed and broken and said I would get a refund and I still have not had it. Avoid.

Ordered two lots of food to try and none of them were eatable, totally awful quality food.

My husband and I ordered food back in November. The order never arrived (we have evidence from DPD). We simply showed the evidence to prep by gainz and requested a refund as stated in their terms and conditions. Can I also just note that as part of their fulfilment process they take responsibility of using DPD as their courier.

This was 6 months ago - we have gone through several wild excuses and gone round and round in circles with promised refunds that never came (again we have all the evidence). When we realised no refund was coming my husband rightly so shared his honest experience with this company on his social media which again can I state he is a well within his rights to do so. He was sharing a factual and honest review of our experience.

This was met with bizarre threats and blackmails to remove posts in exchange for a refund. The person contacting us then said a refund had been issued but couldn’t give us a date or time. Surprise surprise there was no evidence of it in our accounts!

Then more excuses came about a problem with the refund system!! Honestly it all became completely ridiculous. We have accepted we will never get our money back and requested all our data to be removed from their system under GDPR erasure rules (which they seemed to have no clue about which is a concerning point in itself given they handle peoples personal data). The whole experience became so bizarre and threatening that we just wanted out.

I just want to warn others so they don’t have to go through this experience.

(By the way I tried to post a review yesterday which they got taken down, again trying to silence us)

Order was never delivered so I gave them evidence of this from DPD. Requested a refund and here I am 6 months down the line with no refund.

They will give the impression and lead you on that you will get your money back but they never process it. They are now ignoring all messages.

Avoid at all costs - the worst customer service you will ever experience. I’m escalating this issue to the relevant authorities as you can’t get away with such bad business practices.

Meals are amazing! Even my son loves them! I wish I have known about gainz before! Trying to get right macros, stay in deficit, manage busy work, training and a child, is hard so these meals are a life saver! You also save money, if you want variety meals in a week you have to buy loads of stuff for meal prep. With gainz, you can have different meal every day and no food waste or overspending! Order always comes fresh and cold as it’s protected with ice packs. Also, I’ve contacted admins few times, they were always very prompt in reply. Love Gainz!

Nothing other than top tier service from start to finish.
Great customer service team that are responsive. (Sometimes delayed but understandable with certain volumes)
Food as good as just cooked without the hassle of cooking yourself.
Not a meal that I’ve had that I’ve not enjoyed! But here’s just a few:
•Butter chicken & cajan rice and a side of naan. Second to none, 10x more enjoyable than a takeaway, clean and so filling too with spot on portions,
Unlike when you order you end up eating for the sake of it.
Not with this stuff, portion perfect 👌🏽
•Burger casserol,
I don’t know where to start.
The flavours, the lunch and the fullness after it was unreal!
•The pasta dishes,
Fulfilling, tastebud popping with again just the right amount so you are able to enjoy the you like without going hell for leather on pasta.
•MeatFeast Wrap
Best eaten with 2 hands seated, hitting every angle with the meat serving and the fullness of the fillings making this wrap the full package

Food is awful too and not worth it

I never received some of my meals that I ordered so I messaged the company on Instagram and on 2nd feb they assured me that a refund for the meals would be processed that day. It has now been 12 days and I have not received the refund they promised me; I have been in contact with them again via Instagram and had no reply!! At first they made me believe that they were giving good costumer service by offering me a refund but they are now proving otherwise! Not happy about this service at all.

Used this company for about 6 weeks. On approximately the second week I got charged twice. I've messaged them about it and asked them to cancel my subscription. They agreed to refund me the amount I was over charged 1st December. They keep making up excuses as to why it hasn't been sent yet. I'm still chasing my refund and the company is ignoring all messages on all different formats!
