Very expensive fruit! Be warned!!
If you're going to pick fruit, take plenty of money! Extortionate for strawberries and raspberries which grandchildren love to pick! Over £25 for 1 small pot of strawberries and 2 small pots of raspberries and that's having £9 booking fee deducted!!!
Shame. I like Garsons but won't be caught like that again.
The only un-friendly garden centre
This is the only garden centre Ive been to that doesnt allow dogs!!! Why? Squires allows dogs in the store and there is an outside eating area for people with dogs. Blue Diamond allows dogs and has an indoor eating area for people with dogs. Chessington allows dogs too!! Is Garson's, so superior? I was really disappointed to see dogs are not even allowed in the store, but thats ok, Ill spend my substantial amount of money at one of the other dog friendly garden centres. This is very outdated, even if dogs are not allowed in the restaurant area. 31% of people ( who responded to a survey) in the UK own dogs. You must be losing a lot of money to these other dog friendly stores.
19 days since I complained and NO RESPONSE
It is now 19 days since I first complained to Garsons Gardencentre - and have had NO response!
My daughter bought me an Earthy Sustainable seed feeder chaff for mothers day from Garsons garden centre in esher. It was unfit for purpose and broken after 1 day.
I asked for a replacement faulty part or a replacement feeder. I live in frimley so cannot travel to Esher. I provided my address, offered proof of purchase and photos of the faulty item - NOTHING!
I have already contacted the manufacturer who say that garsons should refund.
My children took part i two different…
My children took part in two different events over the Easter that were held in the Teepee. One was a Lego garden and the other was a flower basket. They both loved it both times and the girls that ran the events amazing, I hope garsons always continues to do this in half terms and holidays
The opinion of a local ..
Having read through the reviews, I thought I'd add a more positive note! I love every aspect of Garson's (Esher). We avoid it in the summer as it can get too busy but in the autumn and winter months, if it's a drizzly day where you feel lazy but need to get out, for me/us it's the ideal location. There is an area to interest everyone; something for the children, reasonably priced gifts and cards etc., a treat for the dog & a lovely food hall where we usually find a meal for that evening. On occasions we've taken mum along, who is elderly. A wheelchair is provided and the entire building is wheelchair friendly, with very convenient toilets too! I've been going to Garson's for the last 30 plus years and yes, it has altered as it was predominantly PYO, but I think the changes are for the better and they've adapted to their clientele, which in this day & age seems necessary. I've never really eaten there as we are local, so am unable to comment but it seems a busy restaurant when we visit, so it can't be that bad! Ow and they've a lovely nursery too, with a wide selection of plants & bushes etc.
Best meal i have had anywhere in a long…
Best meal i have had anywhere in a long time.Prawn linguini full of large prawns.Absolutely delicious.I hope they keep it on the menu.
Stale and dry cakes
Ordered a slice of Victoria sponge and a cream tea, which when it turned up the cakes were obviously left over from the day before. The Victoria sponge was dry and the cream within was solid, and the scone tasted stale. I would have complained but was with a baby that was crying, and a young child, which would have meant leaving them on their own whilst I dealt with the issue. I certainly shall not be eating there again.
A disappointing visit not to be repeated!
Came here after a few years away.Service in Orangery was poor and inefficient.Emphasis unlike a few years ago now seems to be on quantity rather than quality! Scrambled egg and salmon, biscuit tea and hot chocolate was £23.15...had to go up to the counter twice to remind them about parts of the order they had forgotten.
Was Once Good
Dreadful service. Today we went to buy a Hug O Rug. Garsons proudly displays Our Price £74.99. When you go to the till it scans as £84.99. I told the staff that the card displays your price as £74.99. They said that it must be an old price card that is above the stand. What it scans at is the price we were told we'd have to pay. We just left the rug and left the store. This used to be such a pleasurable place to shop but looking at the other very poor reviews Garsons seems to longer care about what people think. Such a shame.
To important
We used to love it at Garsons but these days it feels like success have gone to their head and they have become very pretentious. Apart from the managers at the cafe being rude, not helpful and always looks like you are waisting their time, you are not even able to swop out a hasbrown for some bakebeans. The staff feels so embarrassed even they apologized for the rude behavior.
It is a shame as they had our support for years but it is time to find an alternative.
I’m really disappointed…
I’m really disappointed…
I’m almost 10 years old member of the garden and also I am a regular costumer… After covid they put some ridiculous system that you have get some tickets before you go there as theatres or cinemas… Any way… I’m pregnant and really wants to get only some cherries after our shopping from there but I couldn’t find any ticket, my husband asked them kindly to let us only 15 min to pick up just cherries even by walking… the weather was rainy and the place was very quiet not too busy as well… But the staff was awfull, no empathy, no helpfulness… he only said this is rules… We know what the rule means, but it's not a God rule and there could be an exception to every rule, it wasn't right to break the customers for so many years and upset a pregnant woman.
Horrific customer service
Horrific customer service. Zero empathy. DO NOT give these people your money.

First time eating there today
First time eating there today. The menu looked good and generally the food was OK except for the bread in my Orangery decker. It was SO hard and chewy it made it very difficult to eat. I have no idea why other than it was either old bread and toasted or maybe fried? Not for me unfortunately. I might try something else if I go again.
Terrible service
Terrible service. Made a special journey to Garsons to find a Sea Salt Jacket. They had the jacket and I needed to try it on first. The cable security tag made this impossible as it puckered up the sleeve and jacket body.
Two middle aged female staff, nattering at the till unit in the clothing dept, told me to take it to the cash tills for tag removal. (Unbelievable they could not do it there!) The tills are quite far away, right through the retail units on the other side of the garden centre. These staff members could not have been more unhelpful and could not have cared less.
Needless to say the jacket was not bought.
It is more a reflection on the garden centre policy. Garson’s management need to sort out poor retailing methods and do something to help their seemingly disenfranchised staff. I am local but will not go there ever again. No matter how desperate.
Not so exclusive produce - highly disappointed
I am always in search of good produce and delicatessen food and so I was introduced to Garsons a few months ago by a friend and I have visited 3 times. I do not spare any money when it comes to food but I will not pay over the odds for products I can get elsewhere cheaper, on my last visit 21st August 2022 I purchased a tap of Taramosalata from the exclusive Garsons deli counter priced at £1.79. Tasty but nothing special then I found it on ASDA supermarkets online priced £1. Delphi taramosalata dip…. Seriously!
Disappointed
I took us an hour to get to the farm on Saturday and we were sent away....
Manager's problem solving skills are terrible.
Really disappointed. Will find a new farm.
Hugely disappointing
Hugely disappointing. A rare little family treat, but feel mugged of time, family fun and money! Entry fee goes toward produce picked which is over priced and not good quality at all, over ripe strawberries, few raspberries, carrots you can’t get out the ground, French beans look the best of a bad bunch.
Highly Recommended
Having been recommended by a good friend to visit Garson’s we had high expectations, but they were all surpassed. We got here in time for breakfast as it was a treat the day after my birthday! The eggs Royale was Devine, very generous with the smoked salmon. My wifey had the vegetarian option with fried halloumi, which she lived! Even our coffees were great, having been disappointed the last time we went to Dobbies, this was just what we wanted and will be our ‘regular’ from now on!
We browsed to plants and flowers and we’re pleasantly surprised at both the immense choice, and the reasonable prices, and ended up with several plants and a massive pot, which in fairness we needed but we’re delighted to find! Even on a Bank Holiday it didn’t seem over crowded and no waiting for a parking space like at some other (previously namechecked) garden centres!
Five stars all around, we asked questions to a couple of members of staff and the were most friendly and courteous!!
We’ll be back!
