A pretty façade for a rotten company for supposed public good
Their properties are sometimes pretty, but little else. They seem to care more about the greenery around their properties than the actual living spaces inside them.
With Gavlegårdarna, their customers are their lowest priorities; they put up a pretty exterior so they can fool people into thinking they care about their tenants, pushing sloppy renovations as an excuse to raise the rent, as if their yearly price hikes weren't bad enough.
Often they hire third parties to manage their properties so they can wash their hands of any responsibility, claiming they can do nothing about waiting MONTHS for essential repairs.
The customer service people are all polite and nice, but they do little to get anything done. Even a blatant fire hazard is something they feel no hurry to fix. And if they're responsible for damages to your property, they will fight you tooth and nail with rude, self-important legalese to try to scare you into giving up.
Gavlegårdarna also always aims at the lowest legal level of comfort for their tenants, with low temperatures in the winters, and unbearably hot temperatures in the summer, and their rude, mightier-than-thou managers will berate you if you try to bring up your rights in accordance to the tenants unions guidelines.
Publicly owned or not, Gavlegårdarna represent the absolute worst stereotypes of arrogant landlords.
