Don't use these scammers. Tried the fixed my boiler then told that it cannot be fixed and need a new boiler. Called a reallable plumber and he found a dial missing which switched over from hot water to heating and he found it underneath some floor boards. Will only accept bank transfers without no invoice. Please stay away.

Friend of mine needed an isolition valve replacing on her toilet, the part in question costs £3.00 and 15 mins work

They turned up and quoted just over £400. they didn't even know where the stop tap was,

Obviously she refused and sent them on their way

I am reporting this company to trading standards.

SHOCKING, CHARGED £250 TO UNBLOCK DRAINS AT OUR RENTAL PROPERTY, PAID IN ADVANCE OVER THE PHONE, THEY PROMISED THEY WOULD ALSO SEND CCTV FOOTAGE OF THE DRAINS, WHICH HAS NOT BEEN SENT, TENANT STILL COMPLAINING THAT THE DRAINS ARE BLOCKED, HAVE TRIED CONTACTING THEM BUT THEY ARE NOT ANSWERING OR RETURNING CALLS. HAVE NOW RAISED A CHARGE BACK WITH MY BANK.

AVOID THIS COMPANY! 2 weeks ago they charged a vulnerable elderly gentleman in the Stoke-o-Trent area £228 for a cold water outside tap. The price given over the phone was £48, then when he came he stated £170. This is 3 times the average cost. I said NO! but I had to leave and, unfortunately, my friend went ahead with a resulting cost of £218. Explanation.. the £48 was just the call out charge. My friend now has to have another plumber in to re-install the tap as George the Plumber did it completely wrong. I am absolutely disgusted with the tactics and shoddy work.

Had to go to the bank machine twice as price kept increasing and then wanted me to go again for another £56 ! Refused and he left I told him it was far too expensive and just kept looking at him and then he left ,don't touch this company with a barge pole !

I had a very disappointing experience from start to finish. I was charged a £48 call-out fee just to receive a quote, despite explaining the issue in detail over the phone, including that the toilet would need to be removed to access the concealed cistern. No estimate could be provided beforehand.

I was told an engineer would arrive within 30–60 minutes, but they didn't arrive for over two hours. Communication was extremely difficult as the engineer spoke very little English, making it hard to understand what was happening or ask questions.

After assessing the job, I was quoted nearly £700, including almost £500 simply to remove and refit the toilet—a job I've had completed before for around £100. The call-out fee was then added on top, and it had even increased from the £48 I was originally quoted to £49.

To make matters worse, I was immediately presented with an invoice for the full amount as though the work had already been completed, and I felt pressured to pay the engineer on the spot before he would leave. After querying the incorrect invoice, I was promised a call back but never received one.

The whole experience left me feeling uncomfortable, under pressure and lacking confidence in the company. Based on my experience, I would think very carefully before using their services.

I say engineer but I have no idea on the guy I mets credentials and honestly I have felt really anxious, uncomfortable and on edge the whole time and I am now only worse off as I owe money for the call out fee.

From reading the other reviews I would say that this company are scammers.

Called them for faulty ball valve. It was not an emergency but I called them in the evening because they were open. They were quick to respond and mentioned that call out fees at that time was £58/- which I was okay with. Person comes within 40 minutes, checks and gives a quote for £500/-!. Because I had enquired with some friends( who called plumbers in their area) earlier, I was told that the maximum cost would come to £150 incl callout and labor and material ( ball valve is £20). So I refused to get the work done and they charged me £164 for just call out and investigation!!. Next day, called another person, narrated this story and they were shocked to hear the rates. The good samaritan came over and got it done in 10 minutes as all it needed was unscrewing the old valve and putting on the new one. And I was so surprised when they charged me only £50. I wanted to give them more but they refused. Just wanted to leave this review here so that nobody else makes a costly mistake like me.Also, want to add that I checked google reviews and they only had 5 star reviews. I tried to post a review but it didn’t get published citing vague reasons. Guess they only publish the good reviews.

I called yesterday around, the guy did turn up around 30min, but tearfully quotation and bad attitude and no patient at all, I paid the call out fee and let him go, he asked for extra access fee, which is stupid, cos I already know where is the leaking point, no need him to show me. Horrible service, I don't know how the five star review on google, but I should check Trustpilot before I call them. I should give Zero star!

Wish I'd read the reviews first! Sadly had to get work done urgently on a Saturday for guests. Charged an eye-watering amount of around £500 to reattach a plastic loo waste pipe - 20 minutes, no parts needed. You live and learn. AVOID!

What a joke. I originally checked Google reviews and called them. But there 5* reviews is a joke as they actually refuse to publish anything less.

The guy who came out looked into our manhole but didn't listen to what the problem was, was saying I can unblock it and put a camera...there wasn't a blockage as my poor hubby spent 2 hours down said manhole clearing it it's a collapsed pipe (as hubby could see it,but not reach). But the best of it was the call out is £48 if you want a receipt or invoice he'll charge you VAT on top..dodgy or what.

Bad from start to finish. Found them under George The Plumber, claiming to be eco friendly and had 12 5 star reviews. Not showing on a search now.
An outfit run by an agency of various people, not a local business. Did not fix it and charged £49 plus £179. Next person who came fixed it easily by rodding it, which the plumber said he had done. Complained and did not receive a call back 2x. Best avoided.

They scammed my 83 year old neighbour. They charged her £180 to remove a TV remote control from behind her heater. It took no time to slide it along . No quote just started doing it. Got it out and then says "That's £180 cash " Gave her no receipt. No quote. Just demanded the money. They're not plumbers it's a call center. They will not contact you when you call to complain. They say I'll call you back immediately but they don't. You have no come back because they send any man with a van and it's not George. You don't know who you're letting into your house.

I had a major leak and needed a plumber asap. My usual guy wansn't available, so I Googled same-day plumber and found George the Plumber. They did get to my house in about an hour, and the £48 call out charge was not unreasonable. But if my family had not been at risk of not having any mains water all weekend if the part wasn't replaced (this being a Friday) then I wouldn't have paid the exorbitant price I was charged. I paid £858 incl VAT for a job that should have probably cost about £550. Overpaying by about £300 to get the emergency job done. In the moment I had no choice, but I will never use this company again.

Two operatives arrived not showing much idea. The call out charge tripled and the work they suggested was not required neither would it have solve the problem. Very poor; avoid.

Needed a replacement shower cartridge so called this company out. He checked and confirmed cartridge fault...then quoted £400 to replace (plus the £48 call out).
Needless to say, declined. He actually said the cartridge would cost £380! Ordered one for £115 and will replace myself

very polite and helpful engineering, arrived when due, carried out work in a proficient manner, communicated well. Would happily use again

GEORGE THE PLUMBER IS A SCAM
They are not local- their google reviews are fake. My actual local plumber was busy so he couldn’t fix. George the plumber turned up- actually a massive guy called Pavlov who didn’t even knock I’m not even joking. He just walked in and started taking his shoes off!! When we established who he was he looked at my bath and then went to call his boss. He then put his boss on the phone who said ‘£380’. I was like is that a joke it’s just a flannel stuck in the bath drain pipe. He was very aggressive and asked how much I thought it should be and I said reasonably £50 (£100 would be extortionate) and he laughed at me and said no chance- very professional lol! My plumber has since been out and yes it cost £50 as it was just a flannel in the bath drain pipe. Maybe they just go around collecting £48 call out fees?

Reasonable call out fee but won’t declare a labour cost per hour. When the plumber arrived the repair costs for a simple job were eye watering. Do not use unless you have to!
