I'd recommend this programme because the support, structure, and overall experience were genuinely brilliant. Everything felt organised, safe, and purposeful, and the team were always there when needed. The school placements were a real highlight too... they gave me confidence, hands‑on experience, and memories I'll carry forever. It's a programme that actually delivers what it promises, and I'd happily encourage anyone to join.

My highlights were embracing the amazing culture and people of Vietnam they were so welcoming! I would recommend people to do the experience to gain new skills and learn to network. An unforgettable experience that I will always cherish, seemed too good to be true- it's not everyday you get the opportunity to live life in Vietnam for a month and teach children who speak a different language, all for a small fee for the course. I’m so grateful to Gotoco for giving me this opportunity.

I would definitely recommend Gotoco. I would do so because I found the program so enjoyable and meaningful in terms of my experience but also because I feel incredibly grateful to have been provided with such an opportunity to see the world within a framework where I still had some anchorage to adults who could provide me with help and support if need be. Also the very fact that I did not have to find money for flights or accommodation because I received funding from Gotoco meant I was able to have this opportunity, as otherwise I would not have been able to afford it.
The programme benefited me greatly. Travelling to and exploring a new place has improved my confidence, and specifically my confidence in my ability to make friends and connections. Being in Malaysia and speaking to so many people from different walks of life also boosted my confidence in regards to my social skills and ability to connect with people, and the whole experience has definitely made me much more eager to travel. Further, my time in Malaysia has benefitted me through opening my eyes to the future possibility, such as my interest in journalism has really been awakened through meeting and talking to so many people, alongside my love of teaching young people. Working within the MLC itself also benefitted me, my time there improved my confidence, reminding me that I can go the extra mile and be recognised for my ability and effort. Navigating a network of other staff, and professionals was highly useful in terms of building experience. Working with my students benefitted me both in terms of the professional sphere of teaching, but also just through broadening my perspective and giving me moments that I will always remember.

For me, one of the best things about the programme was the balance between having a proper teaching experience and still being able to enjoy Thailand. There was plenty of free time, so I never felt like I was constantly following a strict schedule. I could make plans with the friends I met, explore independently and really make the most of being in Thailand.

The teaching itself was probably the most rewarding part. Working with young people in rural schools was such a fun experience and gave me something completely different from my previous work with children. It has actually inspired me to continue with TEFL and look into teaching in other countries.

The final week trip was another highlight. The coordinators organised some great cultural activities and made sure we got to experience more of Thailand, while still giving us enough independence. The orientation was also really useful, especially learning basic Thai phrases before starting.

I also think the programme offers really good value for money. You come away with a qualification, teaching experience, new friends and so many memories, while still having the freedom to travel afterwards. The flexible flight arrangements were especially useful for me because I was able to continue travelling independently once the programme finished.

Overall, I’m really happy I took the opportunity. It was a great mix of work, travel, culture and adventure, and I’d happily recommend it to a friend.

I had an amazing experience being able to work for a whole summer in China as an English teacher. I was able to meet so many new, fantastic people, and to expand my understanding of what it means to teach (not just English, but any subject). Gotoco did a fantastic job with helping find me a placement, guiding me through the visa process, and providing information once I was in China. I would highly recommend Gotoco to anyone looking to gain experience working abroad, who wants to start preparations to teach English, or just to anyone who enjoys living abroad!

Spending two weeks in Vietnam with Gotoco was everything I hoped it would be and more. As my first solo travel experience, I was initially unsure of what to expect, but the incredible support from the team throughout the programme made the whole experience feel completely stress-free and enjoyable from start to finish.

From volunteer teaching and cultural activities to discovering the most amazing food and coffee, there was always something new and exciting to experience. Da Nang was the perfect backdrop for the programme, with its beautiful beaches, vibrant culture and endless things to explore.

I had an incredible time in Hunan, China with Gotoco! The programmes are both a great way to gain teaching experience for a TEFL qualification, and to immerse yourself in the scenery and culture of a new country. In China, I discovered a love for teaching and an attachment to helping others learn that I never thought I would feel, and had an incredible time experiencing such a vast, interesting, and beautiful place! I would highly recommend to students who want to see the world and discover a new potential career path.

I applied only two weeks before we were due to leave, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The application process was so easy, and the team were always happy to answer any questions I had beforehand. I was a little sceptical at first and kept thinking there had to be a catch, but they made me feel completely comfortable and reassured every step of the way.

Everything was organised perfectly. I was added to the group chat straight away, which made it easy to get to know everyone before we left. Meeting everyone at the airport instantly put me at ease, and I was so lucky to be part of such an incredible group. I made some wonderful friends, and we shared so many unforgettable memories together.

From the food and cultural experiences to the activities and even the teaching itself, every part of the trip was amazing. The schools were so welcoming, and it was incredibly rewarding getting to teach the children. Our Vietnam coordinator was also absolutely fantastic—she was so kind, helpful, and always there whenever we needed anything. Vietnam is such a beautiful country, and I feel so grateful that I had the opportunity to experience it.

A huge thank you to Hayley and Aaron, who were amazing throughout the trip. They looked after us so well, and if anyone had any problems or concerns, they always made sure we were okay.

I’d also like to thank Richard and George for all their support before the trip. They answered all of my questions, helped with any concerns I had, and made the whole process feel so easy.

I’m so grateful that I attended the Thailand seminar because it ultimately led me to Vietnam, and it turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life. I had so many once-in-a-lifetime opportunities with the most amazing people, and I made memories that I’ll treasure forever.

I was often wondering what the catch would be with this organisation. Paid for 2 weeks teaching experience in Vietnam or Thailand seemed a tad too good to be true. So I nealry didn't continue with my initial application. And if I hadn't, I would have missed out on the absolutely brilliant experience I ended up having. From meeting some of the other volunteers at the airport to the final flight home, I am eternally grateful for everything that happened in between.
