Fair price and good service!

I chose Sunwave based on price. Each time I have made contact via phone, I have reached a knowledgeable rep who answered all of my questions. I appreciate fair pricing and excellent customer service...a hard combination to beat!

Just signed up

Was disappointed to learn there was an early cancellation fee, but otherwise very happy and would recommend. Wish they sourced from renewable energy too.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback, it helps make us better. Regarding the cancellation fee, Sunwave's philosophy is to provide competitive every day pricing to all of our customers. Sunwave purchases wholesale energy supply in the same quantity and term as we sell to our customers when they sign up. If a customer cancels their contract early Sunwave is left with that supply for the balance of the contract term, and in the case where market prices are falling rapidly we lose money on that supply. Our cancellation fee is intended to cover that loss. Ideally we make a commitment to you, our customer, for the term of your contract and ask only for the same in return. However, if you find you want to change your price or term, Sunwave will let you choose a new price and term from our available products at any time during your contract with Sunwave.

We trust you will find Sunwave always competitive, transparent, and helpful in managing your energy costs.

With respect to green products, we have a plan to roll out 100% green products within the next three months.

Notification

I may be wrong, but was under the assumprion that I was going to receive notification of my contract ending closer to the end date. The last notice I received was 1 month out on a 3 month contract and so I was off on my cancelation/renewal and switched to a variable rate of almost double. That seemed a little sneaky to me, aknowledgin that I should have been a little more on top of my dates. Beyond that, I havent had any complaints.

New Customer

I went with neutral because I only just signed up. The process was easy and went as expected. The price is fair and the terms are acceptable,

Lower Electrical Rates

The cost of electrical bills are higher during the colder months and Sunwave helps customers save money. Not only do i save money thru the winter season, I save money all year long. Sunwave let the customers know when their terms are about to expire so that there are no surprises, such as, charging rates that are through the roof. I've dealt with more than 10 different energy suppliers, and I am very happy with Sunwave rates.

No one beats Sunwave!

I shop for fixed energy rates a few times a year now. I've been doing this for several years. Why the majority of the people I know, are not doing the same, is beyond me.

Sunwave Always has the best/lowest rates. On top of that, their staff are extremely friendly and courteous.

I recently discovered that they will even lower your existing "fixed" rate if you see a better current price that they are offering. Shazam! Can't beat that!

End of term/renewal process communication is poor

I got a letter in the mail saying that my 12 bill cycle contract was about to end and that I'd be contacted about upcoming pricing. I was never contacted so the first time I learn about the rate change is in my electric bill. Cost me $40 more just that month. So I jumped online to renew. I didn't feel like shopping, only to find out it would take another 2 weeks? Huh?? I'm already a customer, you can't just change my rates, effective immediately? If I called, it would probably be different, but I chose my avenue of communication and stuck with it.

Also a warning about "billing cycles". When I first switched over, they did it 5 days before my regular billing cycle ended. Not sure why since one of the questions they ask is "When does your billing cycle end?". So those 5 days ended up being billing cycle #1 while the other 11 were full months. They obviously honored their contract but in a BS-y sorta way.

Your utility has implemented rapid switches which means that a customer can enroll, drop and change their price mid-bill cycle. This has caused some challenges in the description of our contract term, is it better to describe the term in number of days, months or bill cycles? We recognize we have some work to do in this regard and we apologize for any confusion. In the last bill cycle of your 12-month term you were erroneously billed the incorrect rate due to our system changing your rate a month early. Our customer service department will be contacting you as we will happily refund the difference between your 12 month price and the variable rate you were charged. Thank you again for renewing with Sunwave.
