I had high hopes for this company but was unfortunately left disappointed with their approach to resolving problems.

GBR installed a solar and battery storage solution in my home during October 2023. Things didn't go smoothly during installation, GBRs appointed scaffolders made a mistake on the roof resulting in leaking and water damage in two rooms in my home. Mistakes by GBRs installers with the installation of the solar flashing resulting in more leaks resulting in damage in two further rooms.

I was left with damage to four rooms in my house. Unfortunately, GBR have shown little interest in making good the damage. I would have expected GBR to have acted proactively and arrange at their cost for the damage to be repaired. Several weeks after installation and I received no contact from GBR. In the end I have had to arrange repairs myself.

I also had difficulties with the Tigo monitoring system which was left in a nonfunctioning state by the installers. I ended up having to take time out of work to deal directly with Tigo in Italy to resolve the problem.

Our heat pump stopped working last night (turns out it was my fault) I phoned at 9:00 and spoke to Luke who called back within twenty minutes to say an someone was coming. By the time I got back from walking the dog the problem was fixed!

From start to finish I found this a highly professional, pro-active, and courteous company to work with: and 'work with' is the key.

I had a very clear idea as a former professional physicist and technologist what I hoped to achieve, which I laid out before GBR as my 'dream', and they then managed this down to a realistic installation that satisfied us both. I had many and technical questions, and challenged assumptions about respective capabilities, and their answers satisfied me that they definitely knew what they were talking about. I also learned a lot from the technological side throughout and had to rethink a few of my own assumptions, usually in a very positive way: discovering things the systems could do that I had not thought about.

Throughout the 2-week installation phase of 14kW ASHP, several larger radiators, high-spec hot water tank, 34 PV panel 14kW array, inverter and 4 batteries, I was delighted with the way they prepared for work, carried it out, and tidied up afterwards. The engineers were particularly helpful in sharing information as I queried particular aspects of the installation, and we had a few occasions where we made joint decisions about a particular challenge that presented itself.

I would particularly commend Ryan for his plumbing and David for his electrical installation skills. Both guys were clearly passionate about their expertise and knowledge of the systems they were installing. They also took a special pride in completing their respective installations not only to a professionally high standard, but also to look aesthetically pleasing, almost like works of art! And, of course, Matt for his helpful management of the whole project from inception to aftercare.

They, and their supporting team - mainly Ollie, Leo, Liam, and a couple of others - were always courteous and willing to help.

The project encountered a few unexpected issues negotiating the construction of the house, as might be expected in a larger-than-average installation such as this. All were successfully resolved, but with a slight understaffing on several days, for various reasons, the project overran by a couple of days. This was a bit frustrating for all of us, but we all kept our cool (at least visibly!) and a few very minor details were resolved by a couple of visits later on without the need for us to be present.

I am very glad it's all over, but delighted we decided to have it done. We are already enjoying the benefits, being completely free of fossil fuel (gas supply capped off entirely), and only using overnight off-peak electricity from a 100% renewable supplier, stored away overnight and used off-grid during the day. But even in November, only 3 weeks off the winter solstice, we are generating up to 15kWh a day on a predominantly sunny one. We look forward to generating much more during spring through autumn and selling back to the grid.

To sum up, I would wholeheartedly commend this particular team of GBR to others reading this, and wish you a very pleasant encounter with a professional, reliable and passionately environmentally conscious organisation.

Inherited a new home with solar panels and heat pump,all new to us and basically we didn’t have a clue. Quality time with Dan who came and explained everything to us in simple terms,no,pressure no hard sell. Didn’t take us long to decide, some more panels,a battery and I boost. Wow, once we had given the go ahead everything happened very efficiently and professionally. All the departments obviously working very well together.
Dan (a different one. ) tended to lead the installation. Fantastic, telling us what was happening and when,all the team respected our property. When all done he took the time to help us with the app so we can monitor our useage.

I can't help but share the outstanding experience I had with Green Building Renewables ("GBR") during the entire process of installing Tesla Powerwall 2 and Backup Gateway 2. From the get-go, the team, consisting of Mark, Scott, Mason, Kris, and Curtis, went above and beyond, making it an incredibly positive and hassle-free experience.

Equipment installed - Battery Storage:
- 1 x Tesla Backup Gateway 2
- 2 x Tesla Powerwall 2

Timeline of events:
- 24/10: Received an email from Tesla regarding the availability of Powerwall. Submitted my interest directly with Tesla.
- 25/10: Tesla assigned me to a reputable approved installer, GBR.
- 01/11: Initial contact received from Mark at GBR. Explained requirements and scheduled a Site Survey to take place.
- 10/11: Received a visit from Mark for a Site Survey, quotation for the job supplied within two hours.
- 16/11: Received confirmation that the Tesla Powerwall’s (and Tesla Gateway) were ready for installation. Scheduled installation for 20th.
- 20/11: Installation started at 08:10 and ended at 18:10 by Scott, Mason, Kris and Curtis.

It all began on October 24 when I received an email from Tesla about Powerwall availability. By the next day, Tesla had assigned GBR as the approved installer. Mark from GBR reached out to me on November 1, and I was immediately impressed by his in-depth knowledge of the Tesla Powerwall. He patiently answered all my questions, demonstrating a clear understanding of my needs without pushing for unnecessary upgrades. The transparency in pricing, with significant cost reductions due to Tesla's recent price drop, was a pleasant surprise, and the savings were generously passed on to me.

The Site Survey, initially scheduled for November 8, had to be moved to November 10 due to unforeseen circumstances. Despite the change, Mark efficiently conducted the survey and provided a final quotation within two hours. I was happy with the pricing, signed the paperwork promptly, and paid the 25% deposit, which GBR insured — an added touch that was unusual and yet incredibly reassuring.

Mark made it clear that he was available for any further questions, providing a direct line to his work number. A late call on a pressing concern around 16:50 was met with immediate and reassuring assistance. On the installation day, November 20, three members of the quartet arrived at 08:10. Their thorough assessment led to a well-communicated plan, emphasizing quality and addressing the unique circumstances of my installation, which involved the future expansion of the number of Powerwalls.

The team worked tirelessly, showcasing passion and expertise. A fourth member, arriving later in the day, played a crucial role in completing the installation without delay. The outcome, unveiled towards the end of the day, was a testament to unparalleled workmanship — simple, elegant, and perfect. The quartet's pride in their work and commitment to high standards were palpable.

Commissioning, handled with experience, was completed swiftly. Despite the brief time since installation, I am compelled to write this extensively positive review, highlighting the exceptional quality and performance of those who installed the system. Choosing GBR for installation was a pleasure, and my gratitude extends to the entire team who enabled this installation to be a success: Scott, Mason, Kris, Curtis, and Mark. Undeniably, I made the right decision by choosing GBR.

Green Building Renewables were recommended to us and Dan who came to survey our property was very knowledgable. There was no hard sell, took time to share information and answer questions. Our quote was provided within two days. Our experience throughout was first class with prompt and friendly support from customer service. Equally the installation was planned and carried out promptly two weeks after placing order by a very competent team who were equally helpful, responsive and knowledgeable to any questions asked. The system performs as described and we are very happy with it. Communication throughout was also excellent.

Very friendly and knowledgable engineer turned up. Had no idea what this service would entail cos never had a heat source system serviced. I was very surprised the whole process only took 30 min but I paid more than 3 times what I used to pay to have my gas boiler serviced in our old house, hence 4 stars rather than 5. I am in the wrong job!

The entire experience, from the initial site visit to the completed installation was very competent and professional. We had quite a busy installation due to the nature of our roof configuration, but they took it all in their stride and expertly made everything come together.I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them.

I wish I had found GBR when I started looking for a solar installer 12 months ago and not wasted so much time with other installers who seemed to always find new ways to let me down.

My experience with GBR was 5* from start to finish, they listened to my requirements and provided me with a range of options with competitive quotes and I decided to go ahead and pay the deposit.

Even after I paid the deposit, they were happy to discuss changes to the system (different panels, inverter options etc) just to ensure I was happy with the system I was getting.

Installation was only a few weeks later and the team arrived and got me all set up and running over the next couple of days with 16 panels and a couple of Tesla Powerwalls. The system is working better than expected for October, can't wait for summer when the electricity company will be paying me!

Totally recommended. From start to finish good communication and a great price. Come installation the team were friendly tidy and efficient, really pleased with our solar array and Powerwall.

Polite and efficient, the best working team I've had on my property in 40 years. Office kept us fully appraised of timings and workforce installed solar panels and additional equipment needed as indicated despite some rather adverse weather conditions. Would recommend Green Building Renewables.
