A great way to reduce our carbon footprint: charge £168 for shopping for more than 3 hours.

Spent 3 and a half hours in shopping mall. Spent money at restaurant then in several shops. It turns out the parking was restricted to 3 hours. ( Should have read the signs, my bad). total cost: £60 +£40 from Nexus + £68 admin fee from the car rental company. Tried to pay the initially £60 Nexus charge. Bug in the system: second screen showed fine as zero, could not pay. Now it has increased to £100. The phone no. they indicate does not work. (08443718784). I lodged an appeal. Let's see what happens next.

Absolutely Shameful- How can this be happening?

Absolutely shameful company who are making such gross profits at the expense of very vulnerable people. Purposely deliberately delaying their correspondences, creating loop holes for themselves from which they can obtain money from people, using threats and multiple letters to mug people. These people are thieves and the government is not doing a single thing about it. How can this shameful practice be happening to elderly and disabled people. Why isn’t anybody doing anything to stop it?

Money grabbing company

Absolutely disgusted that a PCN was issued for parking in MSCP but paid the wrong amount (even though it was paid on their machine!). Got blamed that it was my fault that it was wrong when got nothing to do with me... it's the ANPR cameras which messed up! Out of pocket because of their failings - avoid parking in their car parks!

Blood sucking parasites

Blood sucking parasites.

Parked in the local hospital to visit my sick newborn. Registration given and registered in the hospital so no parking charges apply. Park at the end of the row, already cars parked there but today they decided it's not a parking space and want £40 for the privilege. In my town this Is the most expensive parking ticket I've ever heard of, not even the council charge this and the best part, small sign 15ft in the air. Is there any point in fighting? No, these companies will ruin you for their made up rules and are profiting from the NHS. Don't be fooled, no car park money goes to the NHS it's taken by parasites like this who will take advantage of the sick and vulnerable all for profit.

I feel they will fall against an appeal. Doesn't matter if ticket machine is not working and you don't have a phone with you. Took months to reach a decision with no proper reason for rejection. Don't waste your time appealing.

Calling .gov to have private car park companies regulated

Not sure why I even have to put at least 1 star down to write a review, this company does not deserve 1 star. Totally unreasonable, no investigation carried out by them and now they refusing to correspond, from their reply it was clear my email was not read or understood.
I went to a local shop on the evening of the 04th I was there for 15 minutes then returned home in my car, following day 05th I took my wife to work at 06:30, went to the Gym for 07:00 then returned to the shop after the Gym, I was there for 15 minutes max, then left, this company sent me a fine with a picture of my car entering the car park on the 04th and leaving on the 05th indicating I had parked on the carpark for over 13 hours. This is clearly not the case, They wanted Tracker information from me to prove I was not on the car park all night, this is breach of my personal data so I said they should evidence my car being parked on the car park throughout the night, clearly this they would not be able to evidence.
If they did investigate this matter they would have seen me arrive and leave on the evening of the 04th and arrive and leave on the morning of the 05th.
This is a matter of principle now, not the money, if I had have done wrong then I wouldn’t mind but when I’m innocent I’m not going away quietly.

Awful bunch of scammers

Awful bunch of scammers. Absolute scum.
There should be legislation to stop this blatant rip-off company. I have no choice but to use them at work (NHS hospital). They have an autopay system which I set up & worked fine. They then turned my autopay off without telling me, according to emails they have since sent when i complained, and then they sent me some fines when I parked thinking autopay was working. So I appealed. And they rejected my appeal. Apparently I should have known that they had turned off my autopay at their end without telling me.
And since life is too short I've just paid the first one - they add a £1.50 admin charge to card payments for no explained reason, so i paid by phone to not give them a penny more than I need to - turns out the phone number is also charged & they don't tell you that anywhere. They rip you off at every single turn.
I thought the UK had moved on from this extractive, abusive, scummy way of doing business but it's alive & well at Nexus. Absolute crooks, I hoep they go out of businees a soon as possible. If I had the time I'd go to the ombudsman, but then I'd have to watch the fine increase steadily for the joy of appealing. But they are just here to rip people off.

False parking notice fine

Got a notification to say I was at MOTO Winchester northbound. Provide so called evidence of the vehicle and you can not even see the number plate. But a picture of the number below the actual picture looks photoshopped. The time and date stated I was not even there but at home
Parked up. This has now been reported to police for possible cloned number plates and DVLA will now also be notified.

From looking at the reviews and submitting an Appeal with video evidence of my car being at home and not moving from the spot it’s been parked in for 9 days. So called noted on 22/04/25, notice issued 30/04/25 and received in post 06/05/2025. Sounds very dodgy to me!!!!

*A really bad word*

Absolutely disgusting company!
5 year old had accident - needed hospital treatment- hole in cheek glued together.
Store where it happened tried to cancel ticket- they were sent the appeals link to forward to myself. I appealed with confirmation of incident. Full explanation AND medical records of treatment received!
Now, I never intended to not pay. At this time my child was the only thing I was thinking about. Started the appeal in beginning of December 24 and have just had to pay a reduced charge end of April 2025!
After a lot of research about the appeals charter and levels of reduction/cancellation, I’m not sure I could have done any more- part of my findings-
“Significant evidence of mitigation or genuine, legitimate reason - charge cancelled
Non-evidenced mitigation – if accepted, charge reduced to between £0 and £20 dependent upon the circumstances”

I’m sure what I provided is evidence. The store had accident reports and confirmed.

HOW CAN COMPANIES LIKE THIS KEEP DOING THIS!

I could have appealed to an independent company but from what I have read and understood, they don’t ‘appeal’ as such but report back a recommendation to the company and hope. Had I done this and lost, my charge would have been quadrupled.

To add to all of this, they CHARGE YOU to make your payment!!!

It's shit

It's shit. App sometimes don't work and they give you a fine. No chance of automation for regular punters.

They live in the past.
