The platform's ease of use and the smooth user experience are frequently mentioned, simplifying the process of finding a therapist, scheduling appointments, and accessing virtual sessions. Company details

  1. Mental Health Services

Written by the company

Grow is a mental health platform built to enable progress — connecting people with thousands of qualified therapists vetted across specialties, identities, and lived experiences, covered by insurance. We didn't begin with a theory about the market. We began with someone trying to help someone they loved, with the realization that when someone you care about needs mental health support, the system can feel cold, confusing, expensive, and built to wear people down. So we built something better to help people find care they can afford, stay with, and actually feel supported by — care that doesn't just work, but makes progress possible. We are not only for crisis. We are for all the moments when someone decides they want more: more support, more clarity, more tools. Because our goal isn't just to help people feel better — it's to help people achieve their goals in life. That starts with finding the right therapist, which is why we make it easy to search by specialty, language, cultural background, and identity, with care covered by insurance, appointments available in as little as 2 days, and most clients paying around $21 per session. Many pay $0, and self-pay and sliding scale options are also available. We are committed to a mental health experience that's easier to begin, more affordable to maintain, and grounded in trust — rethinking not just how people access care, but how care feels, because life doesn't pause between sessions, and with Grow, support doesn't either. So far, 15 million sessions have started on Grow, each one a step forward for someone, somewhere, building the life they've always wanted. With 220M lives covered, appointments offered virtually or in-person, including evenings and weekends, and clear cost estimates with no subscriptions to worry about, it's no surprise that 80%+ of Grow clients report feeling better after starting therapy. I liked the therapist I chose

This group was covered by my insurance, but I found it easy to find a therapist and was very happy with the person who worked with me to address my depression and grief.

Kelly was amazing

Kelly was amazing to work with. She listened carefully, paid attention to the details, and made me feel comfortable being open. What impressed me most was her focus on natural strategies for managing ADHD, not just medication. She has a warm, thoughtful way of connecting with people that made a real difference in my experience. I left feeling encouraged, understood, and with a better outlook than when I arrived. Thank you, Kelly.

Grateful for the service

The convivence this platform has created for me helped with the first step in having a session with a therapist. First ever therapy session was booked one day and next day I was able to virtually connect with a professional.

Pressured into using AI and no help with issue I was seeking help for

I did not appreciate being pressured to have AI record and use my session. I got a pop-up SEVEN TIMES requesting to use AI, I declined it repeatedly. Then the provider asked me to click yes, and I said I was not comfortable with that. She then asked me why, and I explained the security risks of using AI, esp regarding my health. She stared at me blankly and then gave me attitude about how it helps her. I'm paying over $200 for your services, not an AI. I have no access to said AI, or its data. I explained to her the risks of this, and she still gave me attitude. She then asked why I was there, I told her. She then asked me a bunch of questions. Then told me I needed to make a decision about something that I told her I was working on. She never talked about why I was there, did not even address it. When I brought it up again, I got another attitude that if THAT is what I wanted to focus on, we can discuss it in the next appointment. It was also scheduled for an hour, and she said it was only 30 mins (so it lasted 30 mins). So I paid over $200 to get attitude and was pressured into using AI. Waste of time and money - I'm going to another platform.

UPDATE: Since I posted this review, I got an email from the provider saying that she was not accepting new clients and referred me to other providers. So now, I wasted over $200 on a provider who claims she was not accepting new clients. Please note that her profile says she is, and her calendar has countless appointments. We obviously were not a good fit, but instead of just addressing this like a professional, she used the 'not accepting new clients.' If that was true, then why did you accept the appointment in the first place? Was this a money grab?

DON'T SIGN UP/IN WITH APPLE ID!!!

I am very happy with the product as a whole, but be warned, if you sign up using your Apple ID it might cause you some pretty severe headaches as it has caused me. The billing & tech support was outstanding and they resolved my issues very quickly, but it still caused me to miss 2 appointments and go without my meds for over a week now because of it. Whether you sign up with Grow Therapy directly or through ZocDoc like I did, be sure to *sign up with your email address,* NOT your Apple ID/account. For whatever reason, I was not receiving ANY emails, so I didn't receive the intake emails, the meeting link emails, billing emails, etc. and my appointments were just being cancelled because of it. I spent loads of time troubleshooting, but there was absolutely no reason I shouldn't have been receiving the emails. It's all resolved now and I do recommend the service, just don't make the same mistake I made.

Hope is possible

Emily made something that felt intimidating after 30 years feel safe, grounded, and approachable. She came across as intelligent, empowering, and genuinely present, and for the first time in a very long time I felt comfortable opening up honestly. This session felt like an important first step for me, and I left feeling hopeful,

GrowTherapy Deletes Negative Reviews!

The Grow Therapy provider was unprofessional, cold and condescending during our session. He accused me of being a drug seeker when he said "I assume you only want stimulants and not non-stimulants, right?" in a condescending tone and smirk. I was shocked because I never said this! The session went downhill from there.

Next he asked what I do for work as one of the questions for a form he was completing. I answered entrepreneur which is vague, but I figured it was good enough to check a box. He asked me to be more specific and I said I work with animals and he snapped at me "Do you have a problem answering the question! What's the problem!? I have to complete this form!" Total over reaction and again, I was shocked at the unnecessary rudeness. Then he incorrectly said melancholy meant sadness AND schizophrenia when I was discussing my family's mental health history. I knew this wasn't correct, so I sent a screenshot of the dictionary definition. His response was to dump me as a client.

Afterwards, I sent a message asking for the notes from our session and he stated they could only be faxed. I responded by informing him that the Maryland licensing board requires providers to send records using the same electronic communication platform that the session was conducted on. It's as if he just wanted to make things difficult on purpose. He did eventually provide the notes via the Grow Therapy portal (as required) after I threatened a formal complaint. He added that he had 30 days (per Maryland rules he has 21 days) as if he was doing me a favor by sending them. The notes also stated that "patient was interested in stimulant but declined to provide details of previous medication." The truth is that I told him 3 previous medications that I remembered and promised to send him the rest after I pulled my medical records to obtain the drug names I couldn't remember.

Not only did he act unprofessionally, yell and insult me during our session, he then gave me a hard time about getting my medical records and then lied in his notes. I truly wish that Grow Therapy would screen their providers better. I wrote a 1-star review, but it's not showing on the site. Instead he has 98 (5) star reviews! Clearly they scrub all negative reviews so that more patients book through their site. It's all about money, right?

Finally a Fit!

As someone who is in the field of behavioral health, it is a pleasure every week to meet either with my therapist or psychiatrist on Grow. I have been in therapy for 11 years and finally feel like I have a team that understands me spiritually, culturally, medically, and socially. This makes for a wrap around experience that has been lacking in my therapeutic journey to assess and treat my sensitive issues. I am very happy and grateful for this experience.

My wife is a patient of Theotis Chappel…

My wife is a patient of Theotis Chappel with Grow Therapy. He has been prescribing methamphedamine pills that are wrecking her life. When I reached out to the team at Grow Therapy to report the abuse, they immediately called to inform my wife that I reached out and quote “try not to take more than what is prescribed on the prescription bottle”.
I’ve reported them to the FL Dept of Health, FL medical board & also the sherrifs office of the county the office is located.
