I ordered and paid for four items on Jan 10th and received two of the four. The cost of the two delivered items was £11. Bizarrely I was charged £11 five separate times … but did not receive the other two items which were ordered. The amount charged - £55 - did not correspond to the £62 shown on the original order.
Apart from an email sent on Jan 16th, stating that some orders were taking longer delivery times, it was only when I rang customer service on Jan 19th to find out what had happened to the rest of my order was I informed that the missing items were out of stock.
The unsympathetic response from customer service operatives implied that I was at fault. After several emails with the last threatening a charge of theft a notification came from ‘Cecilia’ stating that the overcharge would be repaid. Finally on Feb 4th £44 appeared in my account.
In the past I have ordered and been happy with clothes from Gudrun. This recent time consuming fiasco has not engendered trust and I don’t want to order from Gudrun again. My advice to anyone who has made a recent order is to double check your bank account to check that incorrect billing hasn’t occurred.
I caution anyone against ordering from this company. I placed two separate orders and needed to return several of the garments. This proved to be massively frustrating, with their US customer service reps unable to straighten out the refunds due, and informing me they needed to escalate the issue to company headquarters in Sweden for resolution. Long story short, there has never been a resolution. As part of the morass of mix-ups, they erroneously refunded me a payment that I had never been charged for, so the net I am owed is $16, not enough for me to bother disputing on my credit card. In my conversations with US reps trying to resolve things, they admitted Swedish headquarters have a casual, relaxed approach to such matters! When I asked why I was getting their lavish catalogs featuring items that I knew were out of stock, the rep admitted the catalogs are printed a year in advance. The garments are lovely but in my opinion massively overpriced. Customers are paying for showy photo spreads in exotic locations, followed up with truly horrendous customer service.
I have been a customer since 2009. Used to love the clothes, the ethos etc. in recent years you have to buy two dresses to wear at once because the fabric is invariably see through. The designs have lost their bold colours and the models have reverted to type when they used to be more varied in size, age, etc.
Then in mid November i returned a dress. I got confirmation email in late november. It took over two months to get the refund and that was after 3 phone calls, repeated emails, complaining on social media and finally threatening to take them to small claims! I was shocked.
What has happened to this company? Well i can guess, sold off like artisan companies for the big boys to squeeze the profit out of! AVOID. SADLY?
Their reply is too little too late. Another company compensated me with a 3 day delay to my item by completely replacing it. 8 weeks just to get my money back?? Nope you have lost your way and lost a customer.

I telephoned to put in my order. There was a delay but this was mentioned on the website and also the customer service person said there would be a slight delay. Everything worked like a dream and yesterday I am the proud owner of two more Gudrun dresses! Thank you!

None delivery. Tele Trading Standards 0808 223 11133 advised to make Formal Complaint, to Gudrun.
Email guidance sent to me.
Gudrun customer service utterly appalling.
Fingers crossed. My advice is to AVOID❗
I have been gudrunsjoden's customer for at least a decade, but I would not recommend them to a friend now. They have serious issues both with e-support and merchandise quality.
E-commerce: their website is chaotic and often careless (e.g., Swedish text mixed with English). It is not possible to accumulate points through purchasing in different countries, as they all operate independently. On my last visit to their London store, I was promised to get my receipt on email, but it never arrived.
As a part of their advertising, they offer to ‘selected customers’ to prepay for the items from the next collection. In September, I prepaid the items to be delivered January 29. I received neither the order, nor an email when I can expect it. I wrote to them and received an automatic reply with the number of my ‘case’. No human addressed my issue.
The new collection was supposed to be available in London store from January 27. That is, they effectively prioritize the clients who did not (yet) pay over those who already did. You are asked to subsidise the company by paying in advance for the merchandize you have not seen and which they cannot deliver as promised.
Clothes: their technologists do not understand that the ‘recycled cotton’ is not an equivalent of real cotton. It deteriorates much quicker and looks sloppy. I doubt that it is possible to produce a thin stable garment from such a fibre. In one of their cardigans, I had to add a grosgrain ribbon to reinforce the front stretched by heavy buttons. Other GS ‘cottons’ are thick, heavy and unpleasant to wear. They will make you look fatter and move clumsily, something you will not understand before trying them on. Some woollen knits share the same fault.
How ‘ecological’ are the clothes that end up staying in your closet? require professional skills to mend? require circles of exchanges/returns to fit?
My order took ages to come, I contacted customer services via email, no reply and then phone. They said Sweden had longer bank holidays so there was a delay and a backlog. They must have known it wouldn't arrive for a while but there was no notification. I sent it back as the quality wasn't as expected and it was delivered to GS on 23.01.26. I've heard nothing since, no reply to email and no notice of when my refund will arrive. Shocking customer service, I will never order from them again
Only one of the items I ordered arrived after 3 weeks. I have sent 3 emails to the company about the 2 missing items and have still not had any reply. Shocking customer service.
To date I have sent 2 emails to the address that Gudrun gave me and still no reply! They were only 2 pairs of socks that they never sent, was £12 in total but that's not the point. I paid money for items I never received, surely that isn't acceptable!!

Ordered some lovely leggings from the sale. Payment accepted, order acknowledged. Looked forward to receiving them and being able to wear a few items in my wardrobe that I'd had no legwear to go with. 2 weeks passed - nothing. Emailed customer service - just got automatic reply with a case number. Another week passed - nothing. Emailed again - not even an automatic reply this time. Following day - phoned customer service. Got a very (no wonder) miserable sounding person who looked into it and told me that my order had been cancelled and my money refunded the day after I ordered it as it has gone out of stock. She apologised that no-one had contacted me to let me know. I was so disappointed - sales now long over. My annoyance grew once I was off the phone, hunting online again for similar leggings from any other 'ethical' company - nothing. Annoyed that GS hadnt told me about the cancelled order at the time as I might have found an alternative in the sales. I emailed customer services (now 4 days ago) to make an official complaint - again, zero reply.
Would have given zero stars if could.
Appalling customer service.
Ignoring emails.
Phone now says they are not answering calls and to try again tomorrow.
They owe me £320 for a return which according to UPS was delivered to them over a week ago. I have had no confirmation that the delivery has been received.
Returned the order because the garments were thin and shapeless.
Don't order from this company.

What a terrible saga. Ordered two items, a skirt and a top. Some days later I received a confusing email saying the skirt was not in stock and the top was “delayed”. I was refunded for the skirt - but it’s still listed as available on the website in the size I ordered! I’m looking at it right now and there’s nothing stopping anyone from clicking “add to basket”. Meanwhile I continued to wait for the top. No word from Gudrun. I emailed twice, no reply. Then I looked at reviews on Trustpilot and emailed Cecilia, since her email address was being provided by the company in multiple responses to bad reviews. The next day I phoned GS. The person I called told me my order for the top “had also been cancelled” and that I “should have been refunded by now”. She told me she would chase the refund, and the refund then arrived. THEN Cecilia emailed me back with completely different information, saying my order was just delayed and I needed to wait for it. But I’ve already been refunded so I know that isn’t true! Just a total mad journey of endless confusion! Unbelievably messy, absolutely no joined up communication. I’m well aware that GS has a “new system” but this is frankly insane.
They offered me a £15 discount on my next order but only if I order by telephone, which also seems wildly archaic. It was nice of them, but their website doesn’t really have any prominent information about telephone ordering so it feels really haphazard and I don’t know if I want to trust them with my money!

I did an order in early September 2025, then found that it was back. ordered for estimated delivery 29 Jan 2026 - which seemed a ridiculously long time to have to wait - and then when I rang up today to find out what's happening I discovered that the main item I wanted was out of stock (although it is in the new catalogue which has just arrived). Altogether a poor experience in every way. I would not order online from this company again.

Gudrun Sjöden has made exceedingly egregious errors on their website. Their code of ethics changes by the day. Their pre-orders now require that you buy everything that was pre-ordered. That's illegal, when they haven't even processed nor shipped one's order at all yet. The Customers can no longer see their order histories, nor our returns online. This forces us to have to call our bank. Thus far this year, I've been involved in a total run around. I don't relish the thought of taking higher action but will do what I must to ensure my refunds have been returned to me.
Before changing the system (the entire website), no new rules were sent out to customers beforehand. They just don't care about customers like they used to and it will come back to bite them. GS is under an obligation to behave in a legal manner.
They present as untrustworthy. They've become a massive failure in professionalism and service. Maybe they should drop the word "service" from the Department of Customer Service.
For several months their website has been a total nightmare (and still no purchase history). They are making money as they reduce customer appreciation to zilch. They really have to get a grip on the situation and get the right people in leadership! If not they are losing their customer base fast.
Customer Service Reps often aren't honest, and play the "Our company is always right" game. This will come back to bite them sooner rather than later. If I could give them less than 1 star, I would at this point. I've been treated very badly by Customer Service Reps and one person in store (Pam) who was utterly abusive beyond all logic.
Sorry, but I simply had to tell this truth.

I returned to items on 11th January and have not received an acknowledgement or refund. I phoned on Monday 19th and they said they were behind with their refunds. They acknowledged that had received the goods. On 23rd still nothing, I shall not buy online in future. I wonder if they are in financial trouble??

This is my first ever Trustpilot review.
I just had to give my personal experience with Gudrun Sjoden.
I'm actually shocked at how low their customer reviews are, that has not been my experience at all!
I first discovered this amazing website in October, 2024.
Since then, I have bought something from their website on about 20 different occasions.
Only once did I have a delay problem and that was their delivery company at the time, they have since changed to a different one.
Either way, the delivery was sorted by Gudrun and I received my package.
I cannot say enough good things about their clothes, they are so comfortable and pretty.
Their Winter sales are amazing.
I can't stop buying from them, it's becoming a problem. ^_^
I will be their customer for a long time into the future and I highly recommended them.

It took over 8 weeks for my 2 clothing items to arrive! I reached out several times. Customer service said it was the first time they'd heard from me when I had just sent them my previous correspondence.( It almost felt like customer service was actually AI !) I resent past emails once again and my order was finally shipped. Clothes I had ordered in November to be worn at Christmas arrived on January 19.
What a negative experience! I will not be ordering from this company in the future.

My new corduroy trousers which I wore only few times came apart, the fabric literally crumbled opening a larde tear. I approached their customer service (a few times) describing the situation together with photos and they have been ignoring me, no answer no comment, nothing!!!

I ordered a cardigan and, on impulse, a matching hat. The hat arrived. I expected the cardigan separately but after a few days it hadn't come. Apparently, it was out of stock and had been cancelled, but I hadn't been informed. The hat wasn't much use on its own but would cost £7 to return. I asked if they would provide a free return. They said they'd get back to me but a few days later I've heard nothing. I suspect the customer service staff are fed up of speaking to dissatisfied customers, the online service seems to be in disarray. I have a few GS clothes but won't order from them again.

Absolutely horrendous shopping experience. Avoid at all costs.
Placed a large order on 3rd January. Phoned on 13th January as still not received and as many of the items were for presents I cancelled the order. I phoned again on the 15th January to chase the refund and was advised that they would contact their finance department to process. On the 16th January I receive an email to say that the order has shipped. Phoned to see what was going on and was told there was a problem with their system. Appalling service.
