On checking in Thursday evening we were…

On checking in Thursday evening we were allocated room 315, on arriving at room and opening door, we were greeted with an occupied room, although occupants were not in the room, all their personal belongings were!! We immediately shut the door, returning to reception only to then be given a corner room (does not have full double window, in addition looks out directly onto concrete wall) which when making our direct booking months prior we specifically requested not to be allocated.

3 night stay in very spacious room.

We first stayed at the hotel on a few occasions in 2006, then decided to return with our son in 2023 and have returned several times since. Our last visit in April 2024 was the best. Having had a issue with air con in during our last stay in Nov 2023, Amir, kindly made sure our next visit was up to the standard we are used to. We had a wonderful double room suit with conservatory and balcony and was so spacious, our son loved his 3 night stay. Beds are very comfortable, and quiet, staff ad very friendly and polite. Excellent location with lots of nice restaurants close by and attractions. We really enjoyed our stay and will return again very soon. Room was huge and had everything we could want. Minibar refilled daily, rooms clean and very comfortable, 2 TV's and lots of room in wardrobes. 5 star stay and many thanks for the effort made in making our stay so nice and one to remember. It was our 4th visit within 12 months and we are looking forward to our next one.

Extremely poor

Stayed at The Tower Hotel, in the 1980's, stayed again 5th to 8th Sept 2023. Although the windows have been changed the rest of the hotel seems not to have been updated since.

I had so called Executive Room with Bridge view, which they charge almost £400 per night at time, I paid £283 per night as I paid in advance. Not worth anywhere near that amount per night.

Remote control on tv not working, took over 24hrs to replace.

So called mini bar was not topped for 2 days despite
7 phone calls.

24hr room service ends at 10pm, then you have to order from outside the hotel.

No room service for breakfast

Asked for early check in at 1pm and got room almost 3 hrs later.

Bath wouldn't empty and despite reporting this, it was still full when I left.

Asked concierge to get taxi for 7.30am got it at 8.45am almost missed my train.

I could go on, but won't be staying there again

Stayed at the Tower Hotel last night

Stayed at the Tower Hotel last night. Appalling....
No bath mat
Only one hand towel
Towel rail not working - original hard wiring plated off
Bits of "black stuff" in the bath
Air conditioning not working or completely ineffective
No air conditioning control
Sparkling water (provided) had been opened and was half full
Five missing drawer handles
Safe not working
Broken leg on table - imminent collapse a real danger
Shower control defective - hot/cold/hot/cold/hot/cold of its own volition
Bathroom floor tiles cracked and grouting filthy
Sealant around bath needs replacing with five black coloured holes visible
Make up mirror in bathroom fixed at a height whereby I (male 6' 0") could only see my eyes and half my nose. Therefore completely useless for my wife.
Various stains on carpet
Bathroom sink taps dirty - water "stains"
Used food tray close to our room door upon arrival at 1630 and still there at 0930 the following morning
Upon checking out I handed this list to the receptionist. No apology. I suggested that the hotel should be knocked down and rebuilt or a huge refurbishment undertaken.
She responded.."well, we did start and then it stopped...." Still no apology!
DO NOT STAY AT THIS DUMP!!!

Surprise Birthday Weekend

I booked the tower hotel… When we first arrived at the hotel, everything was going well, we was greeted at reception and was offered complimentary late check out for my partners surprise birthday weekend. We was in a rush to get out of the hotel so we put our bags in our room and left to make our dinner reservation on time.

When we come back to the hotel later that evening, our room was like an ice box. We had to sit in our jackets. Tried to work the heating, the temperature would not change neither would the power of the aircon. (It was stuck on the highest speed and the coolest temperature). My partner called down to reception to get someone to check the issue, to only be offered a blanket or a small electric heater. Or to downgrade our room with no refund of the difference in cost. The reception staff was aware of this but we was never notified before we contacted them.

You book a hotel stay for pleasure/luxury, not to be freezing and only offered a small heater which wouldn’t do the job. It is winter, the air conditioning should not be on. Both my partner and I have conditions where cold temperatures have an affect on our chest, we mentioned this to reception to be told, “maybe you’ve had a drink tonight and this is why your cold”. This is appalling customer service.

I booked a Tower Bridge view room, with breakfast included. However due to our horrendous experience and the disgusting service we received, it resulted in us booking an Uber back home at 1am. We was in our room for a total of 1/2 hours.

As I booked this through a package no refund was offered and I have to fight my corner for a dreadful experience.

I am disgusted at our experience, my partners birthday weekend was spoiled. I will never stay in this hotel again, I will be putting my review out on many platforms so no one else will be scammed like this. I will also be taking this much higher.

Don’t waste your money on this hotel.

A handy website for booking rooms

A handy website for booking rooms. I stayed in London and was pleasantly surprised that it was possible to stay in such a beautiful place. I personally think it is one of the most comfortable hotels I have stayed in!

Have They Closed for Good?

We have a reservation at the Tower Hotel for mid-March for medical appointments in London. They will be closed but haven't written to tell us and we have now spent HOURS trying to phone and email to cancel this reservation. Shame - we've always really enjoyed staying there. Not sure we'll bother again! They'd better not try and charge us!

Where can I start

Where can I start.

A disaster. No room despite having booked.

Blames flight cancellations; clearly given my room away notwithstanding I have a valid booking.

Incompetency or clever commercial planning by overbooking.....

Now in reserve hotel in a location which is not convenient with an early start.

Excellent Service & Going the Extra Mile...

I stayed at the London hotel (Cumberland) recently and the hotel and staff were excellent. Additionally I lost my wedding ring and the hotel found it. They also ensured I got it back and sent it in the post to me. That is going way above the call of duty to ensure they look after their guests.

Truly Stunning

Hotel: The Tower by Guoman

I have stayed at this hotel previously and I have to say they never disappoint me. The rooms are very nice. The views are always spectacular, really friendly staff and one of the comfiest beds I have stayed in. I will definitely be staying here again in the near furture.

Nice room terrible staff

Nice room terrible staff.
Stayed at the Cumberland over the weekend and my wife and I were travelling separately. My wife beat me to the hotel and tried to check in. This where the trouble started. They wouldn't allow my wife to check in under my name, or even to wait for me in the lounge. They made her feel upset and as much ruined our stay.

Tower Hotel London

Recently stayed at this hotel for a 2 day trip to London , I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.
The reception staff was frendly and helpful the hotel was immaculate as too the room, the breakfast is to die for and all the breakfast staff were friendly ,pleasant ,chatty and helpful.
We were also able to leave our luggage on the last day in a secure room that was manned and safe, this enabled us to have a full day in London with out lugging luggage around.
If you want luxury stay here.

Pretty nice hotel

I have stayed at Charing cross hotel in London a couple of times on business trips.

The hotel holds a high standard in general.

The Staff is friendly and service minded. Breakfast is pretty good with a lot of variety.
Perfect location in London at trafalga square, which is also reflected in the price though.

Standard rooms seem a bit ordinary and plan compared to the price.
