Columnaris Disease!

I have now bought in two lots of guppies from the Guppy King. The first lot weren’t the best - teeny little things that struggled after going through the post. But I was willing to give them another chance with the last 20% off sale. I’m newish to aquarium world for the 2nd time and so I’m not up with all the different diseases that can strike. I did however find it somewhat unusual that I received 2 free guppies when they are normally $20 each. One female guppy had a whitish patch from her fin right down her body. Being naive I thought it was a pattern, not scale loss. These guppies were sent on a monday afternoon and I got them wednesday morning - no long journey. So I believe this guppy was already sick with Columnaris Disease. I tried treating them, but it spread to all the guppies I bought and wiped them out!
If someone runs a fish business, I would imagine they would have the knowledge on fish illnesses. I now know Columnaris Disease is rapid moving, but the others didn’t progress to that stage in 2 days. This guppy HAD to be showing the scales missing well in truely before sent. I’m disgusted that a business would send a fish like that! Two extra fish DOES NOT make up for you spreading Disease to other peoples aquariums or even quarantine tanks because of the loss in $ spent on all those fish!
I don’t give 3rd chances!!!!

I never received my order

I never received my order, I paid $135, money was taken out, I emailed him after 3 days of silence, no email that my order was received, no email from the shipping company with tracking so I emailed him and he claims my order was received and he shipped the fish out on the previous Monday, it's now been a week and I've not received anything, not even an email from the shipping company, I have again asked him for a tracking number or confirmation from the postage company that it was sent or I would like a refund - which he is not replying to now, I've filed a payment dispute with my bank and will be filing a complaint with the ACCC, there's a reason why he has so many bad reviews.

Guppy King is a scammer

I purchased 2 pink pastel guppies what I recieved were 1 dead silver guppy with a black tail and 1 silver guppy with a purple tail. I also purchased 1 pink male guppy and got an orange one. When I contacted them they first ignored my message about them being the wrong fish and just replied we will give you an instors credit for the dead fish. So I done comparison photos of all the fish as to what I purchased and what I recieved only to be told they are the same fish. The biggest scam artist DO NOT BUY FISH FROM THIS PERSON!

Hi, I ordered 6 pairs of different kinds of Guppy's and I'm from Tasmania. He ask me for a licence to importing from the Inland Fishery of Tasmania and I send him all the documents and after 3days my fishes all arrived strong and all alive. Thank you Guppyking.

Very poor communication

Very poor communication. Wish I had looked up the reviews before purchasing. Paid and expected swift delivery only to recieve a single email to confirm my address then be completely ghosted. Emailed, the day I expected to recieve tracking details. No reply. Emailed again each following day no reply. Messaged on Facebook. Again no reply.

Very disappointed and gutted I wasted over a hundred dollars. Total scam.

Avoid – Unprofessional and Misleading Seller

I ordered two Purple Moscow trios from The Guppy King and received completely different fish. When I questioned the order, the seller casually claimed they were “Purple Dragon guppies” instead, showing little concern for the mistake.

After I complained, he eventually said he would send the correct fish—but I didn’t hear from him for over a week. I had to chase him up again via email. He then sent more fish, but once again they were incorrect—not true Purple Moscow trios—and only sent one trio instead of the two I ordered.

The seller was rude throughout the entire communication process. The fish I received are not consistent in colour or quality—clearly not the genuine strain I paid for.

Do not buy from this seller. He is misleading, unprofessional, and fails to deliver what’s advertised.

Ive had similar issues

Ive had similar issues. He even went as far as to accuse me of staging the unboxing viedo with no fish in it and somones 10 cherry shrimp. He dodged calls, I rang and rand, texted and emailed. He sent a replcement which died in shipment. Horrible service. Take advice from everyone here. DO NOT BUY FROM!!!!!!!

No response! No refund! You’ll regret it!!

I ordered a bag of daphnia to start my own culture and 10 orange cherry shrimps. When I first ordered, I noticed my address had the wrong postcode so I emailed them through their website about my concerns on the 05/02/25 8:33pm. Surprisingly, 8 minutes later, I got an email back saying he will correct it. Wow, replied so fast right?!

It was shipped on the 10/02/25 and arrived two days later. I opened the styrofoam parcel just to see the daphnia bag popped open and everything inside including the receipt print out and information leaflet soaked with the green water and dead daphnias (with photos and a video).

At this point, it was impossible for me to start my own culture as they were all dead. I emailed them about what happened the day it arrived, no response. Emailed again 2 days later, no response. Emailed them again on the 20/02/25 and surprise surprise, no response! I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt but I’ve now decided to make this review because of how they handled this situation.

I’ve now gone through a different company and received hundreds and hundreds of healthy daphnias with no problems and a helpful customer service. That specific company has definitely gained a loyal customer.

Don't waste Ur money

I brought 3 pure strain males, emerald moscow, purple Moscow and Dumbo black blue halfmoon. 10 mixed fancy and guppy grass. I was home to meet delivery after floating for 45mins I went to release the pure strains which contained 2 extra and the water smelled so bad I almost threw up so scooped them out 1 was dead and already decomposing the others were ok although 1 I was sure WLD die by the next morning. I was right. Out of the pure I CLD only tell the half moon the others were not the ones I ordered they had pink in them and dark blue! It doesn't matter now they are all dead! Within a week! Out of the 10 fancys a week later 2 are alive! My tank is established 3ft with 15 guppies, 4 Ballon mollies, Albion bristlenose and 6 tetra. Which are all healthy and still are! I've emailed twice about my concerns, the disgusting water, the dieing fish that Wernt the pure strains I ordered and only response is I can credit for the one DOA. But than no response after! I completely wasted 100 dollars and I don't recommend using this seller

Do not buy Cherry Shrimp from the Guppy King

I bought two big lots of cherry shrimp thinking thry would be vibrant like the add he posted. To my disappointment they arrived very small and a very low grade dull colour. They look like wild brown feeder shrimp. He didn't try to rectify the problem and said they lose their colour during postage. I feel so ripped off. I got them for my sons who has special needs so he can have something vibrant to look at in his tank.
