Gwrych Castle Reviews 

Had a brilliant day at Gwrych Castle. It’s such an unusual place and there’s a lot more to see than we expected. The views are amazing and the history of the castle is really interesting.

We really enjoyed being able to see the restoration work going on while we were there. You can actually see the castle being brought back to life, which made the visit feel quite special. It’ll be really interesting to come back in a year or two and see how much has changed.

Everyone we spoke to was friendly and happy to answer questions, and you can tell how much the staff and volunteers care about the place.

Definitely worth a visit if you’re in North Wales. It’s not your typical finished stately home or castle, but that’s actually what we liked about it. Knowing the entrance money is helping towards the restoration is a bonus too.

Would definitely visit again.

Rude staff! The pay kiosk looked all closed up and in darkness. A couple and ourselves walked past thinking we had to scan our pre paid tickets further up the hill. The staff member came running out, rudely telling us to pay and READ THE SIGN before we walk any further!! It was an honest mistake and had the kiosk looked open, we would of known to head there first to have our QR codes scanned.
The castle itself is not worth paying to visit at the moment. We were aware renovation was taking place...but what a waste of £50. Just ended up covered in mud and got spoken to like rubbish for the pleasure.

Hugely disappointing. The team running the charity remove constructive feedback about events posted on their Social Media pages, they block customers on their Facebook page and blame ‘event companies’ who use the castle for putting on poor events. The Castle Charity is seeking funds to renovate the castle. The way the team operates is alienating customers. Take on board the feedback your loyal customers provide and don’t alienate locals who ultimately would support you and the renovations if only they were treated with respect.

We had hoped to visit - phoned first to see if we could pay on the day and there were no events booked. No one answers the phone. I left a message and said I was shocked that no one answers calls - they are in the service industry. Gentleman who phoned back was shirty about this - said they are not in the service industry - they were an historic building. Won't be visiting if this is their idea of how to deal with the public.

Horrible owner who attacks people on social media for bad reviews.
Toxic workers in the car park / ticket booth.

A really great visitor attraction, well worth a visit especially on even days.
