Poor procedure for completing orders
I checked how many items were in stock before I placed my order. There were 4 items in stock. I checked how many items were in stock after I placed my order. There were 4 items in stock. What this tells me is: Your database does NOT reserve items, or a person over-rode the database and re-allocated part of my order for another customer. Either way, it shows bad flow-control for sales procedures. Then customer service contacts me to say there are only 3 items in stock and would I like to cancel the order. I prefer customer service representatives to be pro-active, to anticipate questions and answer before being asked. In this situation, I prefer to hear: we only have 3 in stock. We have a warehouse in Denmark that has x-number of items in stock and we receive items from the Danish warehouse on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It took 3 emails for me to get the information that could have been accomplished with one email.
