I found the service inattentive, poor, and ultimately costly. As a social enterprise, my circumstances are unique, and I felt they were not taken into account.

Phil came highly recommended, and my initial conversation with him was reassuring. However, the follow-up experience was disappointing. The junior accountant initially assigned to me did not grasp my business and ended up causing me more problems. Sarah then took over my affairs and although she was initially helpful to the end I found her email unhelpful and patronising. I am currently attempting to reclaim corporation tax that I should not have paid, based on my actual income.

Most of the glowing reviews for this firm are over ten years old, and sadly, I do not feel their current service lives up to that reputation.

If you want common sense, sound, accurate, professional advice and accountancy services at fee rates that won't make your eyes water, then speak to Phil and his team at Harris and Co. These aren't simply people who you deal with once a year to draw up accounts; they are an essential part of your business team every working day of the year! My company has been using them for ten of the last 19 years (having used and dispensed with three accountants in its first nine years of trading). We don't have any intention of moving away from them. Is Harris & Co. the best accountancy practice in the East Midlands? Probably!
