We had a great experience

We had a great experience, the team couldn't have done more to help us find our holiday and we are very happy with their service. They even stayed well beyond the closing time to get the booking confirmed due to an initial website glitch that was beyond their control. Thank you so so much Hays travel of Braintree. I'd happily recommend this company to anyone

Exceptional Service from Lisa & Brooke

We visited Hays Travel yesterday to book our holiday to Malta for next May and had such a wonderful experience with Lisa & Brooke.
From the moment we arrived, their knowledge and advice were fantastic. They took the time to talk through different options with us, answer all of our questions and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. We never felt rushed or pressured into making a decision, which made the whole experience really enjoyable and stress-free.
Thanks to their help, we’ve now booked our holiday and genuinely can’t wait! We were so impressed that we’ve also asked them to look into a Christmas Market river cruise for us as well.
Thank you both for making the whole process so easy and exciting, we’ll definitely be back for future trips !

A Wonder and delightful bunch of staff

A Wonder and delightful bunch of staff, i popped into to query about a holiday. They gave as much information as possible and the ones they couldn't answer they got back to me efficiently.
Their professional and friendly approach gave me the confidence to book my holiday with them as i felt i would be in good hands with this lovely local team. Thank you

We used Hays Travel for our trip

We used Hays Travel for our river cruise booking, because we were so impressed with the service that we received last year. Sadly, we can’t say the same about our experience this year. While Daisy was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, we can’t say the same about Molly, who kept asking Daisy how to use the system. Then in May we received a text message telling us that our final payment was overdue! Although I agree that we should have read the invoice properly, we weren’t expecting the final payment due date until 6-8 weeks before we travelled, which was the case last year. When I rang and spoke to Daisy, she told us that that is the case if you arrange for a direct debit at the time of booking. She kindly arranged for an extension of the payment till 9th June, 2026. But as we hadn’t budgeted to make this payment so early, it has put us under duress and we considered cancelling the trip altogether.

However, I am sorry that your interaction with another team member did not meet expectations. We are committed to ensuring that all our team members are fully supported and trained, and your feedback will be taken on board to help improve both confidence and consistency across the team.
I am also very sorry for the confusion and distress caused regarding the final balance due date. I completely understand how, based on last years' experience, you would have expected a later payment timeline. While the terms can differ depending on the payment method selected at the time of booking, it is clear that this was not communicated as clearly as it should have been, and for that I sincerely apologise.
I appreciate that being asked to make the payment earlier than anticipated has placed you under pressure, and I am truly sorry for the inconvenience and concern this has caused—particularly to the point where you considered cancelling your trip. That is certainly not the experience we want for our customers.
I’m pleased Daisy was able to assist by arranging an extension, and I do hope this has helped ease the situation slightly. Please be assured that your feedback is extremely important to us, and we will use it to review how we communicate payment schedules more clearly in future.
