Hbo app will not the video cast to my TV. Everything else on my phone will cast. The audio on the hbo casts great.
Called customer service 3 times to get a halfway competent person. She told me to reinstall the HBO app on my phone. Shame on me for believing that. The reinstall didn't change anything.

I had a subscription I was paying…
I had a subscription I was paying monthly for. I recently signed up for a phone plan with ATT which includes a subscription. I signed up with the same email address I used for the monthly which should have just changed that one account to not charge for a second account. I have disablitilies and ability to earn income is limited. I was not expecting 15.99 to come out when I had accounted for it to purchase a prescription. Was escalated to a specialist who denied a refund request with no explanation. They are cold because they know they will still have millions of subscribers so can care less.

I see a lot of bad reviews but I am satisfied with their service. They do not offer an incredible amount of content but everything is really high quality production and worth the time!
Doble charging
They charged me twice for the same account. It is almost impossible to reach there, they dont answer the email and it is imposible to get through via telephone.
Absolute Worst Service!
I purchased HBO Max on September 9, 2021. I took advantage of their limited time “$7.50 for six months” promotion. A month later I was reviewing my credit card statement when I realized I had been billed twice.
On October 9, I called to inform them of their error and was told that I had started two accounts despite all login info being the same and both accounts being created on the exact same date and time. I was told they would send the problem to “specialized support” with ticket no. 05072604 and would promptly receive an email from specialized support about how they would fix their error. All I wanted was the one account with the promoted rate that I had paid for.
I never received an email. Instead, the same day, I received a notification that BOTH my accounts had been cancelled.
A few days later I called back and explained the problem. The response was the same one I would get for the next four or five calls I would make. First the representative wouldn’t understand the problem and would claim that I had cancelled my accounts. After I explained that they had cancelled my accounts they would spend about ten minutes reviewing the prior notes and check up on what the “specialized support” had done...which was inevitably nothing. They would be completely unable to take any action themselves and when I would ask to speak to this mythical “specialized support” they would sadly inform me this division was email only.
After the sixth and last call on 11/12/21 I gave up.
I’ve called customer support hundreds of times from old companies like AOL and Gateway and this is by far the most pathetic customer support I have ever received.
Normally when a company admits they screwed up they are capable of fixing the problem.
Not so for HBO Max.
Stay away!
the movies keep CRASHES and FREEZES
the movies keep CRASHES and FREEZES, NOBODY CARES STILL!!!!
Worst customer support ever
Worst customer support ever.
Worse than Comcast.
Worse than porn sites that hacked your credit card.
Roku service never worked for some reason on my TV. Ticket after ticket, call after call, I was repeatedly promised that someone would follow up. *No one ever did* - except for placeholder emails from customer "advocates" that indicated I'd get a response "soon".
Then, once I placed a request to refund the service (realizing they would never attempt to pursue a solution), the same cycle of unresolved messaging happened.
If the content delivery works for your device, you will never have to endure how utterly horrid and surreal their support is. But, good god, I cannot imagine a more incompetent and bureaucratic brand. Complete and utter trash.
HBO doesn't care about existing…
HBO doesn't care about existing customers. They care about attracting new customers and does so in a way that is unacceptable. Existing customers have to pay double to what new customers have to pay. That's a perfect example on how to not treat your customers. To tell existing customers that their long-term support is worth nothing and will be worth nothing in the future amazes me. Is that really how HBO tries to build trust? Loyalty? I wouldn't recommend a company that mistreats their customers, in such a direct way, to anyone.
Nothing but woke new series and woke…
Nothing but woke new series and woke movies in 2021. There hasn't been a decent new movie at all this year. Has there been any recent movies that won Academy Awards in the line up so far this year? HBO went downhill after Game of Thrones ended. Now we get Lovecraft Country.
I tried to upgrade my HBO plan only to…
I tried to upgrade my HBO plan only to wait on hold for an hour and be hung up on. After I called back hbo lead me in circles to Samsung billing then Samsung back to HBO only to tell me it’s not possible to upgrade my plan as if they do not want my money. Not surprisingly AT&T who owns HBO is going down the tubes in the market.
It is good
It is good. There is not a lot of movies and shows comparing to other services, but the curated list is really high quality.
No Halloween movies…
They took all their Halloween movies down in the middle of October!
Warning for users of HBO in Spain
I paid for a month subscription at 8.99 to HBO España and then discovered I could not download the app as my ipad was registered elsewhere. I called and they refused to return the money. Their suggestion was that I change the country in my apple ID, which requires cancelling vital subscriptions and waiting until the end of the subscription period. The only other option is to somehow create a second apple ID but that would be device specific (as I understand it??). I'm not feeling entertained here. I have no issues at all with Netflix or Prime apps in Spain.
Terrible unresponsive customer service
Terrible unresponsive customer service. Multiple movies I was watching were interrupted mid stream and could not be restarted until the next day. My request was simply to have the error codes I was receiving on my TV explained to me. No response so I’m canceling my subscription
So I already had a yearly subscription…
So I already had a yearly subscription with ad for $99.99 per year for about a few months. Then they have a promotion for $109.99 per year without ad. I decided to take advantage of the promotion and make an upgrade.
Silly me, HBO Max could not do basic math, and end up charging me the extra to round up their regular subscription without ad at $149.99.
I called customer service, they created a case with a case number and told me to wait for 4 business days for an email confirmation and refund.
4 business days later, not a single email from HBO Max. I called customer service back with my case number. First, they said they shouldn’t have given me a time frame, and they said cases like this could take a month to resolve.
What???????????????????
Then they said I would need to send in a record of my bank charge of the incorrect charge. Plus they don’t have a time frame on how long this could be resolved.
Excuse me??????????????????
I asked why they need to look at my bank charge when they were the one who made mistake. Why it was so simple of them to charge my credit card incorrectly, but it’s too difficult to reimburse the same exact card?
Then the guy started to beat around the bushes saying it could be done at anytime, and I quote “maybe as early as tonight”, but he would need a record of my bank charge.
Seriously????????????
I ended up having to send them a copy of THEIR email with the incorrect charge while being told that they have no idea when this could be resolved.
Fyou, HBO Max! May you rot in hell!
Sorry
Sorry, but after two days I’m ready to cancel my subscription. It goes off every few minutes. Very, very, frustrating.
Would not recommend
SO SLOW. Shuts off in the middle of watching something. Would not recommend
Get different movies please
If you like the same movies over, and over, and over, and over, never seeing a different movie except every 4 to 6 months, then it is teased for months in advance, then hbo is for you,
I never thought id say this, I am sick of Indiana Jones
Worst customer service I have ever…
Worst customer service I have ever experienced hands down. They don't know how to fix account issues, all they do is keep resetting your password and then saying its your devices. I originally had the service through AT&T, when I canceled AT&T HBOMax stopped, makes sense. So using that I account I added a password as instructed and paid for a year. Then it signed me out and I couldn't sign back in kept getting wrong password or email. So I kept performing resets through the link on the login page, everytime it took the password change but wouldn't let me log in. I start chatting with customer service and all do is reset the password several times which didn't fix it, I was shocked... Then started saying it was my devices, I tried it on three different devices. They are terrible. I ended up fixing it myself by relinking my now stand alone HBOMax account back to my AT&T login and I was able to sign in. Problem was it changed my subscription back to AT&T monthly once the year expires. Customer Service again terrible kept saying that my account wasn't linked to AT&T and that was my old account no matter how many times I said it is showing that the accounts are linked. I gave up I will worry about it once the login stops working again. Worst Customer Service EVER!!! I may not sign back up...
