Terrible tech support – wrong advice caused bike damage
Contacted tech support to confirm which product was correct for my bike before installation. I was given incorrect information, which resulted in three loom wires being cut unnecessarily and triggered an EML fault that my local dealer had to clear.
After contacting tech support again, they admitted they’d got it wrong and advised a different product. I purchased it, only to find the instructions didn’t match the wire colours on the unit supplied.
When I queried this, tech support blamed me, claiming I’d cut the loom too short and that the wires “change colour halfway along” — which sounded suspicious. I then contacted the HealTech distributor in Australia, who physically checked the products. Every unit matched mine, confirming the instructions were incorrect.
The equipment itself seems fine, but the customer and technical support is extremely poor, with a worrying lack of knowledge of their own products. I’m happy to provide the full email trail if HealTech wish to dispute this.
Wasted over 6 weeks trying to get a healtech maintenance mate to work on my 2018 F800 GT BMW, it doesn’t work, I said this from day one, but after 2 replacements, a load of nonsense from there support team and no explanation for the code F1 which is what the unit kept saying, I am now left out of pocket and have nothing to show for my money !!!
I had a problem with their Thunderbox, to be fair it was probably user error, and after an email conversation with their tech guy, and a telephone conversation with a very lovely lady called Jane a replacement arrived at my door the next day, before I could post the old unit back to them.
What customer service, I wish dealing with all companies were this enjoyable. If you are looking for motorcycle electronics, you won't find better than Healtech.
