I used Healthywage in the past to lose weight, and I was successful and won my jackpot. After I got pregnant and had a baby, I tried to sign-up again and they offered me a much lower jackpot because I was heavier than my previous weight. But that is the whole point of me trying to sign up. They said I could lose weight and get back to my past weight and then sign up or take the lesser jackpot. I think their rules are very stupid for a game that is supposed to encourage people to lose weight.

The idea is cool but the company is not. I did sign up for the account however I realized shortly after that they charge you monthly. I immediately requested a refund and they rejected it. I am sorry I do not want your service and its my right to not to spend my money on it. I can understand if I went forward a some time later didnt want to do it out of remorse but I canceled minutes later. CANCEL AND REFUND.

**UPDATE on 04/15/2020 at 2:07PM PST: Again HealthyWage chooses to hide behind policies rather than to focus on its core mission - to help people lose weight. When I reached out to Joe on 4/15/2020 at 10am PST, he first didn't give his name and when he did, he gave the wrong one. Only through research was I able to uncover his true name. He offered no reasonable solution and eventually hung up on me. If HealthyWage's job was to help people lose weight and not take their money, why wouldn't they recognize that medical emergencies happen? Why hide behind policies that make it difficult, if not impossible, to either receive our money back or extend the challenge. Moreover, there is no proof of how much prize money they have given out. And how many other people have you taken their money when they have doctor-verified and legitimate medical issues? I wonder if there is some way to audit their claims?

*** Original Post: HealthyWage is a service where you bid money for a weight loss challenge. You put in some money, and when you lose the weight, you get that money back plus a small sum above that. If you don’t hit your goal, you lose everything. I joined Healthy Wage in October-November 2020 with the idea that the company was here to help encourage me to lose weight. I thought it was a great idea and a great motivator. And I was happy that this company was trying to do something good in the world. So I invested $2,000 into the program - a hefty sum under any circumstance. A few weeks into my challenge I broke my foot and had to have surgery. The surgeon said that the surgery was pretty straightforward and he would have be back to exercising in 4-6 weeks. With 5 months left in the challenge, I thought I could recover and still lose my target weight within the remaining time. However there were complications, my foot started to have massive pain. Despite that, I began working out again and attempting to continue the challenge. When the pain got too unbearable, I went back to my surgeon who determined that I require another surgery to fix the pain. At this point in time, I contacted a guy who called himself “Joe Smith” (definitely not this guys name) and asked him if I can cancel my program and they can return the money or can I extend it so that I would be able to recover and have a chance of getting my money back. I even supplied them with a doctor’s note which explained the situation I am in. In both cases, I got a horrible response. They were willing to cancel my program but refused to even offer a partial reimbursement. And yes they were able to extend the challenge, but for only 3 weeks. There would be no way for me to lose 6 months with of weight in 3 weeks which means I would lose my money in this scenario well. This is insane. For a company that is supposedly designed to help people, all they are doing is hurting people and stealing their money. This is a SCAM and should be investigated by the Better Business Bureau. Shame on these guys for preying on people who need help.

Outstanding. I will be honest and was worried all the way through this could be a scam but I submitted weigh in on Sunday and by wednesday night had been paid $1400!
You choose the amount you pay, the weight you have to lose and the time you have to do it in - thats a minimum of 6 months so it is a long term commitment rather than a fad diet. Install the app and very simple to follow the instructions. Very impressed with the speed of payout.
