Appalling Special Assistance at Heathrow Terminsl 5

Special Assistance on arrival at Heathrow was chaotic and poorly managed. Not allowed to travel on buggy with my husband and told to meet at Immigration or baggage claim. I told my husband I'd see him at baggage claim and I'd be looking out for him as he does not like being on his own and gets anxious.
The buggy took him to one place and
others were met by different special assistance staff but they said he had to wait for another one to arrive. After a while he asked how much longer and was told they had no idea and so he asked how far for him to make his own way to the baggage claim area to be with me. He was told to take the lift down and stay on the seats there and when the member of staff arrived with a wheelchair for him they'd send them to there. This he did and after I had collected all our luggage I approached a special assistance member of staff who was collecting wheelchairs to say that still no one had arrived. His response was extremely rude so I approached the BA customer service desk who arranged for someone to come. In fact 2 arrived, the extremely rude one and a younger man . The rude man was now saying he had misunderstood the situation and no need to make a complaint. I don't know why he worried about a complaint as Heathrow Special Assistance really do not want to know. They ask for more information which you give and then they ask for more. In the end they want copies of your passport or driving licence and as we no longer felt confident in supplying them with any further personal details we had no option but to stop with our complaint.
No other airport has such a chaotic, poorly organised special assistance and this is down to very poor planning and management.
They do have some very good staff who are understanding of people with various health issues but they sadly have to work in this badly organised team.

I would give zero stars if I could - SCAM

I would give zero stars if I could. Had a Heathrow Rewards card for years with points on it. Just booked car parking & thought I’d add my card to my Apple wallet. When attempting to log in it says my ID cannot be confirmed so sets up a new account. As a result all previous points are removed - according to their T & C’s. Ollie in Customer Service has ignored multiple closing requests, just sends a link to tat & C’s. Steer well clear. It’s a joke & disgusting customer service.

Disgusting

Due to war in Middle East we were not able to use our pre paid parking. They would not refund or give us a credit as we didn’t have 24 hours notice. Also the meet and greet parking has no signage and as a result we ended up driving to the valet parking and incurred another £7 fee. We were travelling of the morning of 28/2/26 the morning war broke out. We lost our holiday which cost us £9k and on top of that Heathrow official parking took our money without providing the service we paid for. How do these people sleep at night?

Heathrow Rewards is a time wasting con

Heathrow Rewards is a time wasting, scam. It is impossible to retrieve an existing account - which I've had for many years - and its impossible to set upa new one. The technology is hopeless and impossible to navigate. 2FA does not work and you end up with multiple verification codes which do not work. Appalling for a supposedly leading airport, through which I have had 500 flights+ to date and still unable to use the rewards programme. What a con.

They allow cowboy meet and greet…

They allow cowboy meet and greet companies to operate under their name, without taking responsibility for the branding. I used Heathrow Meet and Greet and they crashed my car. I have had no response from anyone. I never had any issues with the meet and greet services at other airports like Gatwick.

No compassion

Customer support is full of robots who only cares about taking your money. No compassion, no empathy.

What a bunch of uncaring idiots

What a bunch of uncaring idiots. We booked meet and greet to drop our car at Heathrow. I accidentally went to the wrong meet and greet (this one rather than purple parking). I drove in, realised and drove out. Those 35 seconds cost me 19.50. I assumed it was just a process issue but Heathrow parking have confirmed that they're entitled to that money! Unbelievable!

Awful service

Awful service.
Short story - Had my car for 2 weeks and caused a flat tyre which they drove the car on and refused to rectify.

Longer story - dropped car and no faults and tyres all fine and as in pictures were fully inflated. Took screen shot of my app to show milage (like to do this incase they take it out for a drive!) and this shows no faults.

Upon collection the rear tyre was totally flat on the rim. Upon pumping it up it wouldn’t hold pressure of more than 10psi. So called AA who did a basic bodge repair to get me to a garage, who had to replace the tyre as it was not repairable.

Raised issue with Heathrow to be told that the nail was already there and the attached picture is their ‘Evidence’. This picture is a total joke and a blurry spec, not where the nail was found’ is apparently definitive it was already there. I quote from them“we can see the nail already clearly visible”

When I asked for evidence that was useable and I could see, they refused and said irrelevant as not their liability as the driver wasn’t negligent. To state otherwise would suggest that vehicles parked with them are left at the owner’s risk, which negates the value of valet parking!

Avoid using - significantly more than 3rd parties and no better, in fact worse.

No point to Heathrow Membership

I dont see the point in the Heathrow.Airport.com login and account. You dont get anything from it. They offer you points (ie pay 200 quid to park your car gets you 200 points - which is only worth 2 quid - you cant even get a lolly at this airport for that). There is absolutely nothing else this stupid membership gives you. At least Tesco club card gives you massive discounts to products in the shop if you scan their club card. Nothing here at Heathrow.

T5 Plaza Premium Lounge

Paid for access to Plaza Premium lounge in T5. Food seemed cheap and poor quality. No vegetarian alternatives (e.g. veggie sausages). No pastries available. Chairs all rammed together so you feel just as squashed up as in the main terminal area. Not a relaxing environment at all. Absolutely not worth the admission price.

UPDATE: I wrote to them to express my disappointment. Feedback was handled via heathrow.com rather than the Plaza Premium company. Their response took two weeks and stated that I had been escorted to a reserved seat and didn't complain at the time, so "we won't be looking to refund you". I wasn't escorted to a reserved seat, and I hadn't asked for a refund. There was no apology or discussion of the issues I did raise. This gives me no faith whatsoever that they are open to any form of feedback. It would also suggest that other customers should complain vociferously at the time if you do want a refund.

This airport is now just for the rich

This airport is now just for the rich, £17.50 ULEZ charge £6 drop charge. Be careful it is not obvious it’s in the ULEZ zone and their is no flexibility. Also rules out Aegean airlines now aswell. The new security machines actual increase the security process with far more bits to it now than before.

HORRENDOUS - AVOID PARKING WHERE POSSIBLE

This is copied and pasted from another review as it perfectly highlights what happened with my car.

Scumbags washed their hands of any responsibility.

AVOID using official heathrow parking at all costs. These useless morons will damage your car and then refuse to acknowledge it or even check their own CCTV to confirm it!

My advice is to not use any of the so-called meet and greet parking, you simply cannot trust the unprofessional imbeciles to look after your car and to rub it in their fees are a rip off.

Just landed at Heathrow Terminal 4

Just landed at Heathrow Terminal 4. Went to get a Black taxi on the way to the taxi rank outside but was stopped by four different touts offering to take us to London for a hefty price. I’m not stupid as I live here. I reported this to security man. Who honestly shrugged his shoulders and wasn’t interested. Does not the airport have a duty of care to its passengers as I suppose so many must fall fail of the crooks. Poor form Heathrow

Heathrow rewards login page is impenetrable...

Heathrow rewards login page is a mess. I've tried to log in numerous times, reset my password, tried to reactivate an old account number now I'm travelling again, but keeps telling me my email address is not a valid address. Checked and triple checked it. It's fine. Then the online 'contact us' page doesn't actually let you contact anybody. It just gives you a list of solutions that don't work. A waste of time. Worse than useless.

Zero customer service - rip off parking

I was going on a short trip to Europe and booked Pod Parking at T5 direct with the airport. I parked and went to the terminal only to find my flight cancelled as Heathrow Airport had put air traffic control restrictions in place (weather) and cancelled the airline's slot. I returned to my car and left the car park just over an hour after arriving. Heathrow refuse any form of refund saying as soon as I entered then no refunds regardless so I'm left paying in full for three day's parking for an hour of actual parking. Complete rip-off, especially as the airport caused the flight to be cancelled, not the airline. Avoid
