Do NOT buy insurance from them

My car was hit by their client in beginning of May and the damage was enough so it can not be driven. They have not made any move or answer any emails and they are clearly trying to escape from paying for the repair and the cost of my injury physical therapy and medication. They also are braking the law by denying me of rental car. I have never in my life seen such shity behavior. Im disabled and im a foreigner living in Spain so I dont have a family that can drive me or help me. This company is nothing but scamming circle.

My insurance company has given you all what you have asked for ! But you don't reply to any of their mail or mine. You have all information and the doctor has given a paper and in that mail me and my insurance company asked what exactly you need but like to all other mail you don't reply so I dont know what you need more than you already have ! This is a disgrace on your behalf!

Hi, Svava.

In general terms, your own insurance company would be the one in charge of claiming in your behalf. If they will not, we would need a formal letter from your Insurance company stating that they are not claiming.

I hope your understand that it is reasonable for us to think that as their customer your own insurance company is helping and assisting you and that they would prepare and send us all necessary documents.

Please also note that we do not have any information about your injuries. The first step is that you send your medical reports to our Claims Department for review and they will assign you our Medical Service if you need further assistance.

Finally, regarding the hire car you have to notice that we will not provide one as it is not in any case mandatory. You also have to check with your company if they would cover you or you can claim us the bills afterwards. If we determine that your claim is reasonable and you can prove us why you need the car we will add it to the final compensation. The same applies with any medical expenses you had.

I have been waiting for 3 months for…

I have been waiting for 3 months for this Insurer to authorise rem remedial work following Rain damage. They were unable to send an assessor in a timely manner when the assessor eventually did come the report took so long for them to process. They then started asking for further information of which should’ve been asked for at the start of the Claim. The their broker Abbeygate has chased continually however the main insurer response by saying they have not reviewed the latest information. I would not recommend.

Didn't transfer my vehicle ownership…

Didn't transfer my vehicle ownership after it was stolen, and when the bike was found gave it to someone else despite it being under my name. Was paying tax for 2 years for a bike I didn't own because of their error.

Ignored all of my emails for literally months until a large fine arrived through my front door for me to pay, to which they had to pay legally but didn't even apologise for the screw up. Awful awful experience.

Edit: in response to their comment below this is a lie, helvetia responded directly to pay the fine because they were in the wrong. Never heard from pont group, deflection is crazy. Still never received an apology. Steer clear of this company

Avoid, Helvetia will not help you.

I made a claim for flood damage to internal walls assessor came and agreed it wasn't due to weather so there must be a leak I explained that the unoccupied property next door has a burst pipe, report says damage not due to a leak or flood. I appeal the decision include a video of water pouring through the garden wall when the water turned on and then stopping when it's turned off again, their conclusion?? Damage not due to a flood or leak. unbelievable just don't want to pay out under any circumstances.

Worst company ever

Worst company ever. I needed them ONCE in a year and they never showed up. I am sending claims and they never respond. It´s absurd, I am starting a legal case against them.

I would not use this company

I would not use this company. We had a burglary 7 months ago and they are coming to us with offers that is way below the value of what was stolen. They are also delaying the prosess. We now have to hire a lawyer to get our claim refunded. We feel that we have been through a second burglary with this company. I am a bit suprised that a Swiss company would be so insensitive.

Never respond to a claim

This company charges a premium, when you actually try to make a valid claim they just ignore you. I have been waiting 7 months since they sent out the claims assessor who was a very amicable person who agreed that we need compensation after a flood. Since then, myself and my insurance broker have been unable to get a response from Helvetia to resolve my damage.

Refusing to compensate, they just take your money

The reference number with my Helvetia issue is 22H103177.

I am a proud owner of a property in Spain near Malaga since end of May 2022.
This is when my household insurance with Helvetia started and also when I visited my new home for the first time.
Everything was ok then.
I returned beginning of October 2022.
There was mold in my bedroom, right at the wall where the hoses of my aircon go outside.
Was it rain that caused the mold?
Condensation water?
I do not know as I am no expert.

I tried weeks and weeks to contact the company, the customer service was really sorry as they forwarded my case to Helvetia several times.
In the end, they refused to compensate for the damage with the following explanation (here comes the funny part):

I have insurance with them since end of May.
According to Helvetia, it usually does not rain between June and October.
It rains before that time, in spring.
Their conclusion was: the damage must have occurred before I started my insurance with them.

Am I joking?
No! I am not.
That's like saying: People aren't usually mugged near police stations. Anyone to whom that happens anyway is a liar and has no right to help.

Where I come from, there is a word for taking money and not offering anything in return.

I am going to terminate my contract with them and use a different home insurance company.
One that I found here on trustpilot with actually positive reviews.
:-)
Don't fall for this company. In the event of damage, you are on your own.

Villa left insecure & uninsured.

Following a burglary, Helvetia insurance were notified. A man arrived to secure the Brocken patio door windows. He said he had no materials with him but he'd return the next day. He did arrive and pushed an old chipboard against the remaining glass and held in place by 3 screws. Partly leaving a hole, that remained for 6 weeks. The house was left unsecured and so that resulted in the fact that we were no longer insured against theft, as our insurance stated that it had to be a forceable entry , to be covered. We contacted the insurance company many times, eventually they said could not say when they could replace the window and frame. This was not acceptable, so I decided to complete the repairs myself, all done and dusted in one day. I noticed the company to cancel the claim. I also canceled 2 insurance policies and took out new policies with another insurance company. It's no good having insurance if one day you have a claim but the insurance company is not there to support you. If you're looking for insurance, my advice to you is simple, DON'T USE THIS COMPANY.

They are ZERO stars

This company is fast to take your premium, but when my gutters came down in a tornado, they took five months to fix them. The rain running down the back of my house caused even more damage. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. Their insurance is not worth having.
